[10] Just For You Guys

This is the last and final chapter of this book. I hope you like it.

Kaori's POV

I was back in my house while my dad was at work. I was reading a book while lying down on my bed. A small breeze blew in my face, making me glance towards my window as it was open. I sighed as I already knew who was in my room.

"You know, we really need to stop meeting like this, Ayato." I said as I continued to read my book. "You never did accept my offer." He said. "Offer?" I repeated, still reading my book. "I want you to go out with me." Ayato said.

"Oh, not this again. Ayato, we already talked about this. We can't be lovers. We're just friends. All we'll ever be is just friends." I said. I gasped when Ayato grabbed both of my wrists. "Ayato, what are you doing?! Get off! Let me go! Stop!" I yelled at him as I struggled.

"Shh! Be quiet!" He said. He grabbed me and hid us under the bed. "Ayato, what the hell-!"

"Shh!" He covered my mouth with his hand just as my door opened. Two men walked in and my eyes widened when I noticed it belonged to the doves. Ayato and I stayed quiet as we let them walk around the room.

"It doesn't look like a ghoul lives here, judging by how this place looks." I heard one of them say. I frowned. What's that supposed to mean? "Let's look somewhere else." They left the room, closing the door behind them.

When we made sure they were gone, Ayato and I crawled out from under the bed. "You knew they would come here, didn't you?" I asked Ayato. "I did. I saw them asking around with a picture of you." He explained.

"Well, thanks for the heads-up. That was... sweet of you." I said with a small blush. Ayato chuckled at my shyness before kissing my cheek. I blushed again. "Listen, I could use your help on one other thing." I said.

"And what's that?" Ayato asked. "I need help finding my father. My real father." I said, staring at the floor. "Okay. So, how can I help?" He asked.

"Help me ask around town to see if they've seen him."

"Okay. Sounds easy enough."

"Good. Let's go."

"Uh, wait just a second there, Kaori."

"What is it?"

"If you're going to tell your real Dad that you're his daughter, don't you think you should... you know, dress like a girl?"

I looked at my clothing, realizing I was dressed like a boy. "Right. Just give me a sec to change." I said. I went to take off my jacket until I looked at Ayato. "Do you mind?" I asked. "Oh, right. Sorry." He said before turning around.

Naruto's POV

I was in the village, looking around to find Kaori. I ran up to a random person and tapped their shoulder. "Hey, I'm sorry to bother you. But I'm looking for my teammate, Kaori Rikuto." I explained. "This is her." The person turned around and there stood Kaori.

"Kaori?!" I said in shock. "What's up?" She asked. "I... You're... You're dressed as a girl!" I said. Kaori glanced at her clothes before looking at me. "Yeah, so?" She asked. "What made you start dressing like a girl?" I asked.

"Well... It's kind of a long story."

"Well, can you give me the short version?"

"Afraid not. It's kind of personal."

I was about to reply until a guy with purple hair tapped her shoulder. He was same guy I saw at Kaori's house. "Kaori, come on. I found someone who said he's seen him." He said. "Okay. I gotta go, Naruto. Talk to you later." She said, quickly before leaving with the purple haired guy.

Kaori's POV

I followed Ayato as he lead me to a merchant who was selling stuff. "This is him?" I asked Ayato. He nodded his head. "Excuse me," We walked up to the merchant. "We're sorry to bother you, but did you said you've seen this man?" I asked, showing him the picture.

"Yeah, I've seen him. One too may times." The merchant said. "Can you tell us where he is right now?" I asked. "Pfft. Where he's always is. In that bar over there." The merchant said, pointing to a bar not far from his stand.

"Thank you very much." I gave a quick bow of respect before Ayato and I headed towards the bar. Once we were in, I looked around, trying to locate my father. "Where do you think is?" I asked Ayato. "Uh, I'm guessing over there," He pointed towards a man near the bar table.

"He looks like the guy in the picture." Ayato stated as he looked at the picture of my father. I took a small breath and walked over to the drunk man. "Fuck you! When I said I want more beer, I want more beer!" He yelled at the bartender.

"Um, excuse me," I gently tapped the man's shoulder and he turned around. "You're a little young to be here, Short Stuff. Where's your mother?" He asked, his voice slurred. "Dead." I said, bluntly. "Dead, huh? Then, what are you doing here?" He asked, taking a sip of his beer.

"Well... I'm here because I'm looking for you... Dad." I said. "Dad? Look, kid. I don't have a daughter. So, do me a favor and get lost." He said. My heart nearly broke in half when my father said those words.

"Sir, this girl is really your daughter." Ayato tried reasoning with him. "I just said I don't have a daughter! Now leave me alone!" The man snapped. Ayato and I turned around so we could discuss what we should do next.

"What do we do now, Kaori? This guy's drunk off his ass." Ayato whispered. "Let's try a different approach." I whispered back.

"How?"

"We could ask him a few questions relating to my mother?"

"You really think that will work?"

"It's worth a shot. But we have to be patient."

Ayato sighed. "All right. Let's give it a shot." He said.

We turned back around so we were facing my father. "Can we ask for your name, sir?" I asked. "It's Kei. But I'm not giving out my last name to a bunch of kids." He said, bitterly. "That's understandable. Have you ever met a woman named Sora?" I asked him.

"Yeah, I knew her. What of it?" My drunk father asked. Before I could ask him another question, he started yelling at the bartender. "Oi! Get me another beer, will ya?!"

I sighed to myself. Who knew this was gonna be this difficult? Once he had his drink, he turned our attention back to us. "Anyway, what can you tell us about your relationship with Sora?" I asked. "Hmm... Where do I start? Well, a long time ago, we met in college and we started dating. But it ended short after a few years." He explained.

"How come?" I asked. "Because she got pregnant. I didn't want to raise no child. So, I left her. Talk about a dick move, huh?" Dad said as he scratched the back of his head, looking a little annoyed. "I'll say. But at least we're getting somewhere right?" Ayato murmured.

"That's true." I replied. "But leave her just because she was pregnant really is a dick move." He added. "Shh!" I shushed him. "But right now, I'm just trying to find someplace that's safe because these damn ghouls running are all over the place." Dad said.

"And you're doing that by drinking yourself to death?" Ayato asked. "My body, my rules." Dad replied before drinking more of his beer. "Mr. Kei, can I tell you a little story, regarding Sora?" I asked. "I don't care." He said, taking a sip of his beer.

"The woman you got pregnant with died a few days after giving birth to a little girl. After that happened, a generous man adopted the child and took really good care for her. 15 years later, the girl grew up and started dressing differently. A few weeks later, something happened that changed the teenage girl's life." I explained.

"Really? Like what?"

"That girl... became a ghoul. But she had friends to help her adapt to her new life. But all she wants right now... is to reunite with her real father."

It took everything I had not to cry in front of him. "Sounds like a sad story. But's what that got to do with me?" Dad asked. "Don't you see what I'm trying to tell you? I'm your daughter! Please, you have to believe me!" I said, grasping my father's hand.

"Get off of me!" He shoved me back as Ayato caught me. "What's your problem, man?!" Ayato snapped. "Your little girlfriend's out of her mind! Just get the hell out of here!" Dad snapped. "No! You have to believe me, Dad! I am your daughter! Here, I have the proof!" I said.

I went into my pocket and took out the picture of him and Mom. "See for yourself." I said, handing him the photo. He took the photo and examined it. "Sora..." I heard him whispered. My eyes widened in shock as I saw tears trailing down his cheeks.

"Oh god, what have I done? I never should've left her. It's all my fault." He said, bending over as he covered his head. I didn't want to see my Dad like this. I don't him to blame himself for Mom's death.

When my Dad lifted his head, I hugged him. "It's okay, Dad. I'm sure Mom isn't mad at you." I said, trying to comfort him. "Your name... Tell me your name." Dad said.

"It's Kaori. Kaori... Rikuto." I said. "Kaori... I've always wanted a little girl named Kaori." Dad said with a smile as he placed his hand on my cheek. I smiled as my hands placed themselves on his. "Now, you do." I said. Tears of joy ran down my cheek as he stared at me with apologetic eyes and sorrow.

"I'm so sorry I abandoned you, Kaori. I'm sorry I left you all alone." Dad apologized before hugging me tightly. I hugged him back as I cried on his shoulder.

I wasn't crying because he left me. I was crying because I was finally reunited with my real family.

This concludes the chapter and the book. I hope you all likes this ending and I'm glad I got to write this ending. See you all later!
