PP Krit's POV

I stood behind the barrier that separated the road from the sea sand and waves.

I watched the waves crash against the shore.

Sometimes when the waves got too strong some of the sea water spray could reach me and I had to step back a little away from the cement barrier.

I glanced at my watch. It was half past six. What was keeping Tae? Should I start jogging and just let him catch up with me when he gets here?

I decided to wait a few more minutes.

At forty five minutes past six and Tae was still a no show I decided to start jogging by myself.

I started with a slow walk still hoping that Tae would show up.

A few meters away and I started to turn my slow walk into a brisk one.

At the very instant that I decided to turn my brisk walk into a jog my phone started to ring.

The ringtone told me it wasn't Tae.

"Hi, sweetheart," Billkin's deep voice never failed to elevate my heart rate.

"Good morning," I replied.

"Good morning what?" I heard him say.

"Um... good morning... to you?" I teased.

"Try again," he said.

"Um... good morning... teacher?" I continued to tease.

"You know that I'm not one," he grumbled. "I'm giving you one last chance and then I'm gonna run you over."

I turned around. Shit, his car was slowly inching right behind me.

"What the hell, Billkin???" I ran over to his window. "Has your physical therapist told you that you are allowed to do this activity? Is driving not considered a strenuous activity for someone who's still recovering from a serious vehicular accident?"

"Stop whining," Billkin chided. "Get into my car and I'll treat you to breakfast over by that seafood place at the end of this road."

"But I wanna finish my jogging first," I protested.

"You can do it tomorrow," he insisted.

"Fine," I relented.

I walked over to the passenger side of the car and climbed inside.

The seafood restaurant sign simply said Anytime Food meaning they served breakfast, lunch, dinner and in between cravings.

I ordered crab omelettes and plain croissants and a cup of coffee americano while Billkin ordered smoked salmon and dill waffles and a cup of ginger tea.

I was about to take a sip from my coffee cup when my phone sounded an incoming text.

I'm here at our designated meeting place by the seafront

Where are you

I thought I was late but I guess you are the one who's late.

"Will you excuse for a minute?" I asked Billkin.

"Where are you going?" Billkin asked with a frown when I stood up from my chair and started walking towards the exit. "What the hell, PP"

"I won't be long," I promised.

As soon as I stepped out of the restaurant, I tapped on Tae's number.

"Where are you?" Tae asked right away. No preliminary greetings.

"I didn't think you would show up so I decided to leave, I'm sorry," I replied.

"But where are you?" he insisted on knowing.

"I'm almost close to home now," I lied.

"Why don't you turn around," he said. "I wanna treat you to breakfast at that seafood restaurant at the end of the seafood front."

Oh shit, from the frying pan into the fire.

"Don't say no, please," he tried to coax me. "I had tried to invite someone to a meal but he keeps ignoring me so I need some company right now."

"Ah hah! So I'm playing second fiddle huh?" I pretended to sound offended. "No, thanks, Tae. We can always have a jogging session another time. Bye."

Whew! That was a close call.

I quickly walked back to our table where Billkin sat, still with a frown on his face.

"What's going on?" he asked with an ominous voice.

"Stop feeling suspicious," I scolded him. "Nothing's going on."

I took a forkful of my crab omelette.

"This is heavenly delicious," I said between chews.

"Are you still seeing Tae?" he asked, fixing me a hostile stare.

"No, I am not," I replied firmly, taking another forkful of my crab omelette and placing it close to his mouth. "Try this. It's absolutely scrumptious."

"You better not be cheating on me," he said before opening his mouth and allowing me to place the forkful of crab omelette in.

"Hey," I said, "It's not cheating if I were to meet up with someone, as long as I'm not having sex with them."

"In my book, having a meal or any other activity with someone other than myself is considered cheating," he declared firmly.
