Chapter 14

A/N: The image above does not belong to me. It belongs to the person who uploaded it on the internet.

Tee's POV

Keeping myself busy with my clothing factory business somehow helps to alleviate the pain and disappointment in my chest.

How did it all happen? I keep asking myself.

Just a few months ago, P'Tae was so lovey dovey with me and then suddenly one day he changed into this uncaring, indifferent, cold hearted person. He had stopped calling me, stopped answering my calls or texts, stopped dropping by my place to see me,  stopped inviting me out to lunch or dinner. I hardly know him now.

Maybe it is time to move on ...

Tae's POV

I wonder why PP has not yet replied to my text. It has been several hours since I had texted him.

I am about to close shop and go home, fix  dinner for PP and myself, take a quick shower and if I get lucky, I might be able to convince him to stay the night.

I told my three car technicians and five laborers that I was leaving the office but that they could stay to finish their tasks and I would pay them for any overtime hours.

Just before starting my car, I decided to give PP a call.

Shit, I was directed to his voicemail after several rings.

I tried not to let my disappointment show in my voice while leaving a message on his voicemail.

Hey, PP, I'm heading for home now. Like I said earlier in my text, I will be cooking some stir fried beef and broccoli for dinner. Please call me back to confirm that you're coming to my place, or I can always pick you up from your place. Call me please. Can't wait to see you again.

My house is not too far from my car shop. It's less than a thirty minute drive from there.

I parked my car in my driveway but didn't get out of my car. I just sat there staring at my front porch, waiting for PP to either text me or call me back.

I was in a dilemma. Should I call him again? That would make me sound desperate.

I waited a few minutes more, then decided to text him instead.

I'm at home now, PP. Just sitting in my car in my driveway, waiting to hear from you.

I don't know why I have this sinking feeling that he's not gonna show up.

I stared at my house again. It wasn't a big fancy bungalow. It was just a one story three bedroom house with two full baths and a half bath. The third bedroom was the guestroom with its own bathroom. I had the master bedroom to myself of course. It also had its own bath.

Whoever became my lifetime partner would live a comfortable life with me.

Lifetime partner .........

I used to think that Tee would eventually be my lifetime partner. I was madly in love with him. We had talked about being lifetime partners during that one night that I had invited him to my house. He seemed to like the idea.

Then the following month he invited me to his birthday party that his parents were throwing for him.

The humongous banquet hall was filled with people.

I was carrying my large gift box containing a made to order suit in his favorite cobalt blue color. I had made sure that it would fit him by secretly borrowing one of his suits while I was at his house and secretly returning it after the tailor had taken its measurements.

I spotted him standing beside his parents in the middle of the hall, greeting the guests as they arrived.

Tee saw me the moment I walked into the hall. He seemed to have been waiting for my arrival. He waved excitedly and I quickened my steps.

He introduced me to his parents. His mother graciously greeted me. His father was a different story altogether. He seemed to look down on me when Tee mentioned that I was in the car repair business. His father was into varied businesses, the main one being winery and the second main one being a clothing factory which Tee was running for his father.

Somehow, throughout the party, I felt that Tee's father would never approve of me being a lifetime partner to his son. I would catch him frowning every time Tee was in my company during the party.

The real letdown was when I was about to take my leave. After giving Tee a tight hug and telling him that I hoped he would like my birthday present, I braced myself and approached Tee's parents to let them know that I was taking my leave.

Tee's mom gave me a smile and a quick hug.

The father took my outstretched hand and then pulled me close to say in my ear, "Stay away from my son if you don't want any trouble."

I kept a brave smile for Tee until I had exited the banquet hall.

There was no point in telling Tee about his father's warning to me. He would have to listen to his father anyway if he wanted to continue to be in the family business.

It was time for me to move on ... find somebody else who thought that I was worthy of being his partner ...

Ping!

My phone sounded an incoming text notification.
