PP Krit's POV

"Forget it," I said, grabbing the gift bag from Billkin.

I ignored the "Hey!" that came out of Billkin's mouth and rushed out the door.

As usual, when I came into his house where he was celebrating his birthday party, he was surrounded by numerous guests, each one vying for his attention.

When I called out his name, he waved at me and motioned for me to come and join the rest of the crowd that surrounded him.

I approached him and held out the gift bag that I had brought him.

He took it but did not get the chance to say a thank you to me because one of the ladies whose arms were entwined around his waist tiptoed to kiss him full on the lips.

I grabbed the gift bag from his hand, saying "Forget it".

If he had just at least excused himself from the crowd for a few seconds and approached me to welcome me after he saw me when I entered the room, that kiss might not have happened.

I know it's his birthday and he deserves to be greeted by everyone and to enjoy every one's company, but I thought that since we had been dating on a regular basis, I thought that we had something special going on, even though he had never uttered a single word of love to me.

I stopped briefly outside the gate, inhaling deeply to control the emotion raging in my chest. At the same time, I was hoping that maybe, just maybe, he would come after me and ask me not to leave.

No such thing happened.

I climbed into my car and started the engine.

I paid close attention to the traffic around me. Even though all the dark emotions were swirling around my being, I was not going to risk my safety by crashing into another motorist and causing injury or worse death to another human being.

I saw my exit up ahead and signaled to turn into the lane that would lead me to it.

Suddenly I felt my car shuddering. I quickly turned my wheel and barely managed to pull to the shoulder before it came to a full stop.

What the hell was wrong with my car.

I put on my emergency lights and opened the hood to see what was going on, as if I knew the first thing about a car's mechanism.

I pulled out my phone and used its flashlight to see if there was anything that might look questionable. There was nothing wrong that I could see, although even if there was, how would I know. I am not a car mechanic.

In frustration, I went back inside my car and went through my phone to search for a 24 hour roadside assistance company.

It was only half past eight in the evening.

I got startled by a loud rap on my car window. A stranger was peering into it. I lowered it slightly, afraid that he might be someone dangerous.

"Hey, do you need assistance?" the stranger asked.

"I need a tow," I replied.

"Do you know what's wrong with your car?" he asked.

"I'm not sure," I replied.

"Did you look into your hood?" he asked.

"I did, but I am not a mechanic so I really couldn't tell what was wrong," I replied.

"You wanna open it so that I can take a look?" the stranger asked.

I did so but I did not come out to look with him.

After a few minutes, he shut the hood and walked over to me.

"There doesn't seem to be anything the matter with your car, unless ... wait, have you checked if your tank is empty?"

Oh shit, I had forgotten about that.

God fucking dammit, the red arrow was all the way to E.

"Listen, I don't want you to think that I'm using this as an opportunity to make business, but I can call my tow company to bring your car to the nearest gas station," he offered.

I was more than happy to accept his offer.

I watched as he made a call to his company.

"My employee will be here in a few minutes," he announced after he ended the call.

Suddenly, I realized that I was being rude talking to him from inside my car. I stepped out of my car and after I did so, he held out his hand to me.

"I'm Kreepolrerk, Tae Kreepolrerk, just call me Tae."

I accepted his offer of a handshake. Then he pulled out his wallet and fished out a business card from it and handed it to me.

"If you're in need of roadside assistance at any time, just call the number on this card," he said. "We are open twenty four hours."

"Thank you," I said, taking the business card and placing it in my pocket.

Although it was dark, I could tell from the faint light coming from a lamp post that he was a very good looking guy. He was well built, bulging in all the right places.

I shook my head. I should just be thinking about getting home as quickly as possible.

Soon the tow truck bearing the name of his company arrived.

"You can give my employee your address and you can ride with me in my car and we can follow him to your residence," he said.

I did as he instructed and then followed him to his car that was parked right behind mine.

As soon as I settled on the passenger seat beside him, I turned to him and asked, "How much is this service going to cost me?"

He looked at my face intently before saying, "You know what, since this is your first time to make use of my towing service, let me make it complimentary. In return you can tell your friends about my company. That way I get free advertising, what do you think?"

"I will most certainly tell my friends and family about your prompt and efficient service," I said with a happy smile.

Soon we arrived at my residence. But then I realized something.

"Wait, we were supposed to stop by a gas station first to fill up my tank!" I exclaimed in dismay.

"Don't worry about it," he said. "Tomorrow, I will come over to your house and bring you a five gallon gas can. Just let me know when to come over."

"Hey thanks so much!" I exclaimed.

"Sure," he replied. "I guess it's because of your car problem that you have forgotten to tell me your name."

"Oh oops, sorry about that," I said with a sheepish smile. "My name is Krit."

He accepted the hand that I held out to him.

"And you have my company number in the card that I gave you earlier, but I can give you my cell phone number," he offered.

I handed him my phone and he keyed in his number after which I tapped on it to call him so that my number could be registered into his phone.

"I'm an early riser," he said to me before I stepped out of his car. "You can call me as early as five in the morning."

"Thank you again," I said with a smile as I stepped out of his car.

He waited until I was safely inside the gate of my house before driving away.

Usually at night before I sleep, my thoughts would be about Billkin. Tonight the handsome face of Mr. Tae Kreepolrerk was the last image I had in my brain before I drifted into dreamland.
