Chapter 29 - Odd

Previously on UD...

"Think over my offer, Orchid." Why that cheeky bast- Shigure continued to stare me down, urging me to take Hatori's offer. I rubbed my eyes, a light pout escaping in mid groan

"Fine. But I won't like it."

"I didn't ask you to like it." Hatori told me with a hint of amusement in his voice.

Akira's POV (A day later, Before School)

"Here, I managed to find you eye contacts in the meanwhile." Shigure told me, handing me the small case along with solution. I rose a brow in confusion

"How the hell do you know my prescription-"

"Hatori." I rolled my eyes, seeing his amused smile through my blurry vision

"Okay. I will go and try to put them in." I told him before leaving him at my front door, walking into the bathroom to attempt at getting these things onto my eyeballs. I set everything up, letting the water run down the drain as I carefully rinsed the contact out with solution before nearing my left eyeball, using my other hand to keep my bangs out of my eyes. Cautiously and slowly, I pressed it lightly against my eyeball, my eyes watering. I blinked rapidly, pulling my head slightly back to try and position the contact correctly. I blinked one last time, seeing that I could see clearly out of my left eye. I smirked in triumph before doing the same with my right eye. Blinking rapidly, my vision cleared to see my face in the mirror, my bangs stilly pushed back by my hand to reveal my chocolate brown eyes. I pursed my lips, frowning slightly

"How odd, I look like I did when I was younger..." I couldn't help but notice the difference of me without wearing glasses. 'I kinda like it...' I confessed in my head before a voice knocked me out of admiring myself in the mirror

"Do you need help?!" Shigure yelled from the kitchen, startling me. Idiot, what if I was still apply the contacts, I would stab myself in the eye or lose one of the contacts! I scolded him in my mind before grabbing my bag from off of the toilet seat and walking out of the bathroom and down the hall into the kitchen where he stood

"Would you mind scaring me half to death?" I asked him in a cold tone. He chuckled nervously scratching the back of his neck, "Sorry~"

"Anyways, I gotta go before I'm late for school." I walked past him, putting my boots on and about to head out my door when I paused, glancing over where many keys hung that I made for this house, using them as decoration over the years. I grabbed one of them before throwing it at Shigure, him hastily fumbling to catch it into his hands

"Take this. It's a copy to my house key." I told him, seeing his shocked expression. "Also, lock the door before you leave." I left him standing in my kitchen, walking through the snow that crunched underneath my winter boots. It wasn't snowing today surprisingly so that was a plus and there was barely any wind, another plus.

3rd Person's POV

Chattering of a classroom was as loud as ever, the teacher currently running a little late from getting stuck in traffic. Haru sat in his seat, arm folded neatly on top of his desk as Momiji blabbered on and on about various subjects, trying to keep both of them occupied while they waited. Slowly, the chatter came to cease springing Haru's curiosity as to why it had suddenly stopped, was the teacher finally there? He looked up, only to take a double take, blinking rapidly in both shock and adoration when Akira stepped into the classroom, her bangs out of her eyes, courtesy to two pins situated to pin them back, her glasses off to show how her eyes reflected against the light. A blush creeped up his neck as his palms began to sweat, 'Akira...?' He asked in his mind, dumbfounded by awestruck, as if he was just face to faced with his favorite celebrity or his idol. Akira narrowed her eyes slightly in suspicion, why were they all staring at her like this? She couldn't remember the last time this many people stared at her simultaneously, only she did. She slightly shuddered at the thought before continuing to walk to her seat before sitting down next to Haru, getting out her textbook for the class out of her book bag

"Hello~!" Momiji chirped in greeting, the conversations once again beginning to flow, only once in a while the other students would glance over at Akira. Akira nodded in acknowledgement, pursing her lips before looking over at Haru who was still staring at her, a light blush dusting across his cheeks

"What?" Akira asked him, her harsh voice snapping him out of his trance. He quickly averted his eyes away from her to the farthest wall, clearing his throat

"S-Sorry, got lost in thought..." He stuttered slightly out having Akira tilt her head to the side, furrowing her brows in confusion, "Umm... Okay." She brushed off the feeling in her chest, grabbing her pencil before writing down math equations to revise in what they learned in the last lesson, knowing they had a test coming up in about a week or so. Momiji hummed knowingly, looking back and forth at Haru and Akira with a small smile

"Cute~!" The two didn't hear his fanboy comment, choosing to block out their surroundings to lose themselves in their own thoughts until class would start.

(Lunch)

With the bell sounding off in their last teacher before lunch yelled out to remind them about the project they were supposed to be working on that night before leaving the room to get their own lunch. Akira made no move to get out her non-existent lunch and instead grabbed a book and began to read it at the last place she stopped at, scrunching up her eyebrows in concentration. Haru stood up, grabbing his money out of his bag to go to the school store only to stop from moving on his way, looking down at Akira who had been mostly silent throughout the day

"Aren't you going to eat?"

"Not hungry."

"You sure? You don't even need to check your bandages-"

"I'm a fast healer." She quickly replied, keeping her gaze on the book in her hands, annoyed that he was speaking to her while she was clearly doing something, as in reading

"Oh." He shut his mouth, hearing the faint annoyance laced in her voice. He nodded before leaving, Momiji standing by the door in wait for him

"Come on! I'm starving~!".
