Summary

Ugegbe is the definition of beauty in the eyes of every man and creature alike. But as a slave toiling for her freedom, she is not one to care for such attentions.

Onochie is the king of Zoro who is known by all. Yet, he often feels like an imposter and outsider sitting on the throne.

An accident brings them together, both on the run from their realities, but fate weaves the locks of their destinies into one.

How far can one's relationship with others go when secrets are being hidden? Only Onochie and Ugegbe can tell as they meet each other at a point between two contrasting lives.

Timeframe
'Ugegbe' is a fictional story that takes place in the 19th century in Nigeria. Osisi is a village hundred of kilometres away from Zoro. The kingdom is conflicted in a wrangle with a close neighbouring realm leading to bloodshed and planned assassinations of the royals.

This leads to chaos and turmoil affecting the balance of the village.

In Zoro, years have passed since the death of Eze Anozie, and his son is the new ruler of the kingdom.

The hatred for Onochie, the young king, only seems to grow stronger when his actions prove that he is a king against the conventional ways of the village. It soon becomes obvious that the Eze needs to secure his throne as well as his kingdom.

A/N:
This book, to be historically accurate, is supposed to be written in the Igbo language. It however isn't, as the reason for writing, which is for others to read will lose most of its meaning. Words that are seen as important or having a deep meaning may be left in Igbo, but other than that the book will be written in English.

The events that take place in this book are not related to real-life events or based on actual people. Nevertheless, the book draws its storylines from different folktales that have been told for many generations. Traditions and beliefs will be similar to that of the Nigerian Igbo people, but will not be exact as there might be significant alterations and changes.

P.S.: The goal of this book is not to present historically accurate information, but instead to show, presumably, a glimpse into the lives of people who lived in the past and a story that is all fictional.
