~Katherine's Pov~

We were at the hospital now, about to do the trade. These two officers for Carol and Beth. They seemed okay, a little roughed up but okay. They were alive and that's all that matters. Carol was in a wheelchair and Beth had a cast. We walked up to them and stayed at the end of the hall. "They haven't been harmed." Rick said. There were a couple cops along with a doctor by the looks of it. "Where's Lamson.?" I'm assuming this was Dawn. "Rotters got him." "We saw it go down." the two officers we had said. They were still 'cuffed' with zip ties. "Oh.. I'm sorry to hear that. He was one of the good guys. One of yours for one of mine." Dawn said. We started doing the trade, Daryl got Carol and Rick got Beth. "Glad we could work things out." Dawn said as we started heading out. "Yeah." Rick said.

"Now i just need Noah." She said. We stopped and turned around to her, "And then you can leave." She said. "Too bad, Noah wasn't part of the deal." i said looking at her. "Noah was my ward." She said. Rick walked up to her, "Beth took his place and i'm losing her, so i need him back." She said looking at Rick then over at me. "Ma'am please, it's not-" "Shepherd.!" Dawn said cutting her off. She didn't break eye contact with Rick. "My officers put their lives on the line to find him. One of them died." She said. Daryl stopped Noah from walking. "He ain't stayin'." he said walking up to Rick too. "He's one of mine. You have no claim on him." She said looking at Daryl. "The boy wants to go home, so you have no claim on him." Rick said. "Well then we don't have a deal." She said. "Deal is set done." I said looking at her, i walked and stood next to Rick as well.

"It- It's okay." Noah said walking up to Rick. "No, no." Rick said looking back at him. "I gotta do it." He said and handed Rick the gun. He took it, "It's not okay." Beth said. "It's settled." Dawn said as Noah made his way over to the rest of the officers across the hall. "Wait!" Beth called out and went to him quickly. He turned around and they hugged. He smiled a bit holding her. "it's okay." he said. "I knew you'd be back." Dawn said looking at them both. She stood in front of her, "I get it now." Beth said, she plunged something in her shoulder and a gunshot went off, I felt something splatter on my face. My heart stopped as Beth's body hit the floor. "No!" I yelled and pulled out my gun. "I didn't mean to-" Dawn said looking at us in shock, a pair of scissors stuck out of her shoulder. Daryl pulled out his gun too and shot her in the head before anyone else could. I felt tears well up in my eyes looking at Beth on the floor, a puddle of blood started growing under her head. All of us pointed our weapons at the people across the hall and they did the same.

"No- hold your fire!" Shepherd called out holding her arms out, stopping them. "It's over, it was just about her. Stand down." She said, Everyone put their weapons down. "Maldita Perra-"(damn/damned bitch) i cursed looking at Dawn's body on the floor. "God-" I cried a bit and looked away, turning around putting the handle of my gun on my forehead feeling my heart race.

She killed Beth.

I felt myself start to shake slightly as my heart raced. I looked back over at Beth on the floor. with tears in my eyes, I took the gun off my head and covered my mouth feeling tears fall. Daryl started crying looking at her body. Rick started pacing with tears in his eyes, We had some of her blood splattered on our faces from the gunshot. "You can stay," "We're surviving here, it's better than out there." The doctor and Shepherd said looking at all of us. "No." Rick said as he put his gun away. I kept looking at Beth's body on the floor, "And i'm taking anyone back there who wants to leave. If you wanna come with us just step forward now." He said as a tear left his eyes.

Noah was the only one who stepped out with us, Daryl picked up Beth's body in tears and we headed outside where we met up with the small group who left to DC with Abraham. Michonne, Gabriel and Carl were here too. Once Maggie saw Daryl holding Beth she cried out falling to the floor.

~The next day~

We buried Beth yesterday, Maggie was hurting really bad. We all were, and we were all dealing with in our own ways too.. Earlier today Rick went out with Michonne, Glenn, Tyreese and Noah to take him to his hometown. Beth wanted to get him there so we were doing it for her. It was far but they were taking Noah there, he told us that the place was secure with walls.. so maybe if this works out we can all eventually go and stay there for as long as we were able to. Daryl's been going out a lot, to the woods.. He was grieving and dealing in his own way, i don't know what he was doing out there but we let him be. This hit him harder than Merle's death. This hit Maggie harder than Hershel's death.

"Katherine do you copy.?" i heard Rick's voice coming through the radio. I pulled it off my belt and pressed the button. "I'm here." I said and let the button go. Carol walked up to me and we listened in, waiting for Rick's response. "We made it, It's gone." he said, I looked over at Carol then brought the walkie up to me again. "Everything.?" I asked and let go of the button. "Yeah, houses burned down, walkers. There's nothing. We're doing a quick sweep but that's it. We're gonna be heading back when we're done." He said. I nodded a bit and looked around at the rest. "Alright, be careful." i said.
