~Katherine's Pov~The next day~

Glenn and i were in charge now for the time being, with Rick not being right in the head and Daryl being gone it just leaves us. I was outside at the guard tower on watch. I've been out here all morning, waiting. Hoping to see Daryl come back.. I'm not even gonna lie i missed him, a lot. You know how they say you don't realize what you got until it's gone? Yeah, that's how i was feeling right now. It's not like i didn't know what i had, i knew what i had. I just didn't imagine he'd leave.. I saw Rick come out here earlier today, he was acting strange. Maybe Lori's death finally hit him, he was dealing in his own way. "Hey!" I looked down to see Glenn. He gestured me to come down. I opened the door to the guard tower and headed down to him.

"What's up.?" i asked sighing, "I talked to everyone, they wanna leave." He said. I shook my head a bit. "We can't leave, Rick wouldn't leave." i said. He nodded, "Good to know you and I are on the same page." He said. I gave him a small nod, "They're just scared.." i said. "Yeah i know... I wanna go kill him myself." he said. I shook my head, "You can't do that." I said. He looked away. "What's been going on with you." I said. He looked back at me. "You're seriously asking me that.?" He asked. "It's just a question. Don't talk to me like that. You're pissed, i get it but your rage is effecting the group. You need to calm the hell down." i said shaking my head. He kept looking at me. "What aren't you telling me." i said. "I'm gonna go to the tombs later. Find out where the walkers are coming from. I'm taking Carl." He said. "I'm going with you," I said. "No you need to be up here." he said. "You're not taking Carl. Down there. I'm going with you, i don't car what to say. Stop acting like a dick." I said and walked back to the prison.

I walked in and closed the door behind me, I looked at everyone, "Glenn talked to me," i said nodding a bit. I looked at Carl, "You're not going baby," i said shaking my head at Carl. "It's okay," he said. I shook my head, "No, if something happens to you.." i said shrugging. "Glenn will be with me. I'll be okay, I promise." he said. I shook my head, "I don't want you going down there, i'd feel a lot better if you stayed up here with the rest okay? I need you here, please just stay here alright? Take care of Judith. I'm gonna be the one going down there with Glenn." i said. "What's your say? You think we should stay?" Hershel asked. I gave him a small nod, "I do," I said softly. Everyone looked at me, "I know you guys are scared but we need this place, Rick wouldn't leave, he'd wanna protect it. He's the one that got us here." i said softly and looked at Hershel. "It's not the same, but just like we tried to protect your farm, we have to try and protect this prison." I said. "We don't have the numbers," Carol said.

"We'll think of something," i said looking at her then back at everyone. "We need Rick. Glenn is-" i said shaking my head. "I'll talk to Rick," Hershel said. "You sure? I can talk to him." i said. He nodded, "I'll talk to him, see how he's doing." He said. I nodded, "Alright," i said and looked at everyone.

~Later on that same day~

Glenn and I checked out the tombs, it was overrun again. We took a few of them down but we didn't take them all down. Glenn was gonna go check out the other side of the prison, we were outside while Maggie was inside taking care of Judith inside. Hershel was talking to Rick. Suddenly a gunshot went off and Axel fell to the floor. More gunshots went off and we all ran for cover. "Carol!" I called out, She was using Axel's body as a shield. I pulled out my gun and took the safety off. There was one of them at the guard tower. More gunshots went off, I started taking shots at the man at the tower. "Run Carol!" I called. I shot the man down and she came to me. Carl and Beth came over to us too. About a minute passed and the gunfire stopped.

"You guys okay.?" I asked. They nodded. "Yeah." Carl said. I nodded a bit. "Beth!" Maggie called out. She came out holding 3 guns. The fire continued for a few more seconds on both sides but them stopped. We heard an engine approaching, fast. We looked over to see a truck. It got through the fences then stopped in the middle of the yard. "What the hell." i mumbled. It just stood there then a ramp fell.. Walkers came out. My heart dropped. "Hershel." I said realizing he was still out on the field. More gunshots went off. I started shooting at the walkers on the field. "We gotta get Hershel." i said. "Where's Glenn?" Beth asked. "He should be back by now." i said and continued shooting. "There he is," Carl said. We ran over to the gate and opened it for him as cars left. Michonne was out there too killing walkers. She and Glenn got him in the truck and came over to us.

Carl closed the gate and we went over to them. "Are you okay?!" Maggie asked her dad. "I'm okay." he said. She kissed his cheek. They all got out of the car, We went to the fence to see more walkers getting in the prison. That gunfire drew more in from the outside.. We needed to fix that gate.
