~Katherine's Pov~

"Naturally blonde.?" I looked back to see Daryl walking towards me, I laughed a bit and slowed down for him. "it just came out." i said and opened the door to the kitchen. We started looking to see if there was anything, We looked for a while. I bent down and opened a cabinet door and saw a can. "Yummy, dinner." i said reaching out for it. "What is it?" Daryl asked walking to me. "It's.." i said turning it around to see the label. "Garbanzo beans." I said raising an eyebrow. He scoffed and i tossed it to him, he caught it and looked at the can. "Go back. i'm gonna go check out the dispensary." i said getting back up and closing the door. "Nah, i'm goin' with you. They'll be alright for another 5 minutes." he said. I nodded a bit and we headed over to the dispensary.

We headed down and we saw the door ripped off the hinges. "This would've been one of the first places they'd hit.." he said as we walked in. I nodded, "Mhm," i said shining my flashlight inside. Completely emptied out, i heard a crumpling and i walked over to Daryl, he was holding a little bag in his hands. "What is that?" I asked. "Cough drops." he said putting them in his pocket. "Alright, Cmon." Daryl said and we headed upstairs.  We saw Shane and Rick starting to come down the steps. "Cafeteria, Dispensary empty." i said. "Except this." Daryl said tossing Rick the can and Shane the bag of cough drops.  "Well it's somethin'." Rick said looking at the can. I nodded a bit and we headed back to the rest. "Find anything?" Lori asked. "Can of Garbanzo beans and a bag of cough drops that are probably bad." I said. "Is there any water?" Sophia asked.

Shane pulled out a water bottle. I sat down against the wall. "Just one bottle i brought. A few sips. Gotta make it last. Gotta go for everybody, okay.?" Shane said, Daryl started opening the can. "What else you got in there.?" Andrea asked. "Salty snacks," T-dog said then tossed snacks to everyone. "Courtesy of the CDC." Shane said tossing me one, i gave him a little nod and stood up and looked out the window, it was pitch black out there. I couldn't see anything. "I thought i'd be having midnight snacks in my air conditioned room. Didn't know it'd be dinner." he said. I looked over to Carl to see him eating the snacks, sharing with his mom. I smiled the slightest bit, you almost couldn't tell. I rested my head against the wall and looked down at the snacks i had.

"And, last item." Shane said, "Is that to share.?" Daryl asked. I looked over to see Shane holding a bottle of wine. "It better be." i said. They looked over to me. "Sharing is caring Mr. Walsh." I said. "Seeing as how i owe you my life." he said holding the bottle out towards Daryl. When we were on our way here, Shane's Jeep broke down and there were walkers close by. Daryl signaled down the RV and they were able to get Shane right on time before anything happened. "Guess uh- i'm gon' go ahead and be nice to you from now on." He said. I smiled a bit. "Hey," i said to Carl. He looked up and i tossed him the snacks.

"You don't want them?" He asked. "Share with Sophia." i said. He nodded a bit and opened them. "I do think i earned the first swing." Daryl said and started opening the bottle, "Guys go easy on that stuff. Let's not forget where we are." Lori said. "Yes, Ma'am." Daryl said. Rick walked up to me and held out the water bottle to me. I shook my head. "i'm good," i said softly. "Cmon." he said holding it out to me. "God Grimes." I said taking a sip and handing it to him. "Thanks." i said softly.

"Hey, Let's go outside." Rick said looking at me, I stopped leaning against the wall and walked out, He pulled out Shane, Daryl and Glenn. "Kids in there are terrified. And the women." Shane said. "Guys im sorry." Glenn said. "We're all rattled and exhausted. No one's thinking clearly." Rick said. There was a tap on my shoulder and i looked over to see Daryl holding out a bottle to me. I took it and drank some then gave it back to him. "But we have to start. Our lives depend on it." Rick said. "You're damn right, We can't ever let our guard down again." Shane said and we walked over to Dale and T-Dog who were by the stairs. "Back at camp, havin' us a fish fry no one on watch. People died that maybe didn't need to." Shane said as we sat down on the floor. I was starting to get tired.

"So what?" i asked resting my head on the wall again and closing my eyes. "We really heading to Fort Benning?" i asked. Rick nodded looking at me. "That's the consensus." he said. "Alright." i said sighing a bit, keeping my eyes closed. "Anywhere but here." T-Dog said. "We have to cut down on vehicles though. We can't afford to lose any more fuel." i said opening my eyes, i looked at them, "We're driving to many cars." I said. Rick nodded. "We'll siphon the gas out of whatever cars we don't take. Should get us free of the city." Rick said looking at everyone. "That'd be a start. Let's just try and get a little shut eye tonight okay.? T, bell you in an hour." Shane said and got up. I got up too and we went back to the room and i sat down again at a corner and rested my head on the wall with my knees up to my chest. Today was a crazy day..
