BACKSTORY:

Born on January 27 to two members of the League of Assassins, Duyen was trained from birth to be the perfect bodyguard to Talia Al Ghul, just as Cassandra Cain was meant to be Ra's.

Duyen was trained alongside Cassandra, though she was allowed, and even encouraged by Talia, to speak, read, and write. Her biological mother died when she was three, and Duyen would begin to view Talia as a mother figure.

Duyen and Cassandra's training continued. It was during their training that Duyen's finger would get cut off on accident. Then, when the girls were eight, Cassandra ran away after killing a man. Duyen's training got more rough afterwards and David told her that if she ever even thought about leaving, he'd hunt her down himself.

Two years later, David fathered another child, Apollo, who was meant to eventually bring Cassandra back. A year after that, Talia had twins, Damian and Damaris.

After the twins were born, David decided that Duyen was ready to be Talia's bodyguard. So, she was given the name Orchid and set out on her life's mission to protect Talia.

When Duyen was sixteen, she and Talia went to retrieve the amnesiac Jason Todd. Duyen was infatuated with the boy. Talia told Duyen that she would stay with Jason and tend to him.

Talia tried in vain to restore Jason to health, but the mental damage from his resurrection appeared to be too extensive. Ra's thought he was a lost cause and ordered for him to be eliminated, but Duyen and Talia fought for him to live. In a last ditch effort, she threw him in the Lazarus pit with Ra's. Jason was restored, though with a darker personality.

Jason went to kill Batman, and Duyen, with Talia's permission, joined him. This was when their romance started. Well, at first it wasn't romance. It started as a little smoochy kissing, which turned into more, which turned into sitting on rooftops together, having meaningful conversations.

Duyen traveled with Jason as he went around the world, training. It was during this time that Duyen fell pregnant with Jason's kid. So, without a word to him, she went back to the League and to Talia, who helped her hide the pregnancy.

When Duyen was eight months along, she went to Gotham and hid out until the birth. She would give birth to a baby girl in an abandoned warehouse, assisted by the villain, Bigtop Babe.

She named her daughter Nguyen and took her to an orphanage, where she left her with a note that stated simply, "Her name is Nguyen."

With the intention of returning once she was able, Duyen went back to the League.

She knew she couldn't leave the League for good as long as Ra's was around. So, she planned to kill him.

At first, she acted as if everything was normal, even helping train Damaris. Then, she slowly got closer to Ra's, finding excuses to talk to him, or play chess with him. Finally, one night, she went to Ra's bedroom, a dagger hidden in her dress.

She attempted to kill him, but he knew what she was doing. He turned the dagger on her and killed her by stabbing her in the eye.

Duyen might end up getting resurrected I don't know yet.
