Artemis "Missy" Eris Rose and Dakoda "Kody" Alex Alder Carter were twins born to Samuel and ELizabeth Carter on November 24. 

When Missy and Kody were babies, they were taken by the fae and replaced with changelings. However, Elizabeth knew that something was off. So she called in an expert on the supernatural. Said expert bargained with the fae and threatened the changelings if the real twins weren't returned. Missy and Kody were returned, but they were...different.

Missy always knew something was different about her. They could hear the voices of the deceased. They thought they were just crazy, until they heard the voice of someone they'd never heard of.

Shirley Temple Daisy Carter, her older sister. Shirley had been run over by a car when she was seven. Samuel had thrown one of her toys into the road, and Shirley had run after it. That was when a car came speeding down the road.

Missy had never even known she'd had an older sister. They went to their parents and asked about Shirley. Well, Elizabeth and Samuel realized Missy had been communicating with the dead. So, they did the only logical thing.

Locked Missy away to never see the light of day.

For the next six years, Missy was locked in a windowless room. Once a day, Elizabeth slid food under the door. Other than that, Missy was alone. The only contact she had was with the ghosts, and Kody, whom she talked to telepathically.

Well, Missy and Kody grew up. And one night, Kody let Missy out of their room. The two immediately went to the kitchen, where Missy proceeded to eat like there was no tomorrow. Samuel heard and went to see what the hap was fuckening. He saw Missy out of their room and knew what had happened. He then made the mistake that would cost him his life.

He slapped Kody.

Missy was enraged. They looked around and saw a hammer on the counter from where Samuel has been fixing a shelf earlier in the day. She grabbed it and beat in Samuel's head with the hammer. Elizabeth came in as well. She tried to stop her daughter and threatened to call the police. Missy then proceeded to kill Elizabeth as well.

Finally, both the Carter parents lay dead on the floor. Realizing what they'd done, Missy fell to their knees, sitting in the blood of their parents. Kody sat with them. However, a neighbor had heard the ruckus and called the police. When GCPD arrived, the twins got out through the fire escape.

For six months, the pair lived on the streets. Usually they stole to survive, but sometimes Missy would make money other ways. However, one day, they picked an interesting target to rob.

Bruce Wayne was walking down the street. Missy ran up to him, exclaiming that their little brother was hurt. She led Bruce to Kody, who had shape shifted into a much smaller child. While Bruce was distracted, Missy grabbed his wallet. It would've been perfect.

If Bruce hadn't been Batman.

He caught Missy trying to steal and asked them what they were doing. Perfect time for Kody to break out the cuteness, as he was still in the form of a small child. He started crying and told Bruce that he and Missy were homeless orphans, and they had no money or anywhere else to go. So, he adopted the two.

It was the next day that he found out about the two's powers. Kody was sitting in the kitchen with Missy, not a small child anymore. Bruce asked what happened, and Kody explained. Then Missy explained their powers. So, Bruce told the pair his secret, then asked if they wanted to join him as his new sidekicks. Not Robins, but whatever they chose.

The pair said yes, and took the names Chastity and Chameleon, respectively. It was a month into their vigilante work that Jason died.

Missy was devastated. They'd been rather close with Jason. The two did talk after his death, and often. However, six months later, he stopped talking to them. Thinking she'd been abandoned, Missy sunk into a deeper depression.

Eight months into vigilantism, Missy decided they needed a signature weapon. Something they'd never used before. Yes, part of the decision was just to distract herself. But, with the help of a dead archer, Missy learned to shoot arrows.

A year later, a demigirl named Lottie James joined the family. Bruce adopted her, and Missy and Lottie became quick friends. Shortly after, Bruce's assumed child, Sammy Kyle came to live with the Bat-Family.

Around this time, Missy met a man named Ryan Goodman. He was 26 years their senior and lived near where they patrolled. He often invited the young vigilante inside his home. She went in with him. He would then sexually abuse them for the next three years. She didn't realize anything was wrong with what was happening because no one ever told her any differently.

It was two years after Jason's death that Tim Drake debuted as Robin. A year younger than Kody and Missy, the latter hated him. They saw him as a cheap replacement for Jason. Yes, Kody had briefly been Robin the year before, but that was different. Tim was just some average asshole who blackmailed the Bat. Missy wouldn't stand for it.

Harmonia, who'd been adopted around a year before Missy and Kody, finally convinced Missy to give Tim a chance. They did, and grew rather fond of the boy.

One day, Missy told Bruce about Ryan. Bruce told them that that was not fucking normal. A week later, Ryan was found dead in his home. He'd been shot in the head. No one knows who killed him or if it had anything to do with what he did to Missy.

On Sammy's fifteenth birthday, Missy and Kody's seventeenth birthday, they found out that Bruce wasn't their father. This led them to break their bio dad, Marlin Blackwell, AKA the Musketeer, out of Arkham. The two went on the run. Missy knew where they were the whole time, thanks to the voices. However, for unknown reasons, they never told anyone.

Missy continued life as usual. She went out vigilante-ing, had some fun, got high with DJ Kent, blah blah blah. Fun stuff. They didn't seem to care about their missing sibling.

Six months later, Sammy came back. They'd unearthed a plan Marlin had to kill the Bats. Missy, thanks to the voices, found out but didn't care. They were busy hanging out with someone they'd met.

Kaleb Greene.

Sure, he had a past. Sure, he was a criminal. Sure, he worked for Queenpin, one of the biggest crime lords in Jersey. But he was a good guy, really. He knew about Missy's gift and didn't think they were crazy. That was something.

One night, Missy was hanging out with Kaleb when they heard a voice. Not unusual. However, this voice was Sammy's. She ran off without an explanation. No one saw them for a month.

During that month, Missy stayed in the apartment building her parents had been murdered in. After the murders, the building was closed down. So they stayed there. Bruce knew where she was, but wouldn't let anyone go get her. He wanted them to deal with their issues.

In the apartment she'd been locked away in, killed her parents in, and had ran away from, Missy drank, smoked, and got high. Anything to make them feel numb. Anything to keep her from feeling the pain. The plus side? Being drunk and/or high stopped the voices.

Finally, Kody went to the apartment and took Missy back home. However, that night, they snuck out again and went to see Kaleb. Kaleb promptly rearranged her guts.

A few months later, Missy went to talk to Bruce. They told him they wanted to stop being a vigilante. Look where that had gotten Sammy. Jason. Becca Woods. Summer James. Roy Harper. The list goes on. Dead, maimed, or suicidal. Missy didn't want that life anymore. She just wanted to be a kid. A teenager. They were barely eighteen! She shouldn't have to live a life of danger just because Bruce Wayne adopted her. They just wanted to be eighteen.

So Bruce let them hang their cape. Gone was Chastity, the vigilante who roamed the streets. In their place was Missy Carter, running around with their dumbass boyfriend.

A few months later, DJ Kent was abducted by her creator, Herman Blackwell. So Chameleon and Tanzanite decided they were going to get her back. Missy donned her costume again and Chastity joined the pair.

They knew DJ was in LA. So they got on a Greyhound to California. However, the bus was attacked by robots created by Skelecorp, the corporation Herman had founded. This led the three teens to be stranded in the woods in New Jersey. That was when they came upon a mansion. Little did they know, it belonged to Queenpin.

Carina Williams, AKA Queenpin, invited the three inside. She was kind to them. Little did they know, she had plans to kill the young heroes who'd found her base. Luckily for Missy, Lottie, and Kody, Carina's daughter, Cheshire, knew about the plan. She teleported the three straight to LA and helped them rescue DJ.

When DJ was safe, Missy realized why they'd stayed a vigilante so long before. They loved it. Sure, it was dangerous, but they felt so good helping people. Saving kids from ending up like them. So when DJ, Cheshire, Kody, and Lottie decided to form a team, Missy joined. Chastity was back.

Soon after Missy became Chastity again, they were walking the street, just as Missy. Then Kaleb approached with two other men. Missy asked what was going on. The men grabbed her and pulled her into an alley. Kaleb explained that Queenpin wanted them dead. So, he had to kill her.

Missy fought back and ended up killing Kaleb and the two men. They then walked out of the alley as if nothing happened.

Around this time, DJ left the team because she was pregnant. So, Missy picked up the slack. They got more and more aggressive as time went on.

After DJ's triplets, Leif, Ash, and Forrest, were born, she came back to the team.

A year later, the New Vision Squad was fighting Lupe Martinez, a girl who wanted DJ dead for not letting herself get kidnapped. Lupe had a gun and pointed it at Cheshire. In a split second, DJ got between Lupe and Cheshire. Then Lupe pulled the trigger.

What the team didn't know was that this had been Lupe's plan all along. The bullet was infused with kryptonite, DJ's one weakness. She was shot in the chest and died on the ground.

Missy's friend was dead once more.

They fell into a depression. They moved back to their parents' old apartment once more and spent their time getting drunk and high, just like they'd done years before.

She decided to live full time in the abandoned apartment and started using Bruce's credit card to buy furniture and shit. He let them because he's Batman.

So, our little alcoholic lived in a shitty apartment, where they would patrol nearby at night, making sure no crimes happened. They ended up killing a few people here and there, but no one noticed.

However, two months after DJ's death, Harmonia, with the help of Marigold Isley, brought Sammy back to life with an ancient ritual.

Sammy was back.

Everyone else was still gone.

One night, shortly after Missy, Sammy, and Kody's birthday, Joker had planned to bomb a building. Chastity, Chameleon, Tanzanite, Nighthawk, Harms-Way, Nightwing, Red Robin, and Robin helped Batman with the evacuation.

After everyone was out, Batman went to fight Joker. During this time, Chastity noticed a man going back into the building. They went back in to get him out. However, the man seemed to disappear. Chastity went further into the building to find him.

That's when the building blew.

It collapsed on top of Chastity. The cops and vigilantes alike searched for her body for days, but it was never found. Six months later, Missy Carter was officially declared dead.

Well, in actuality, Missy had clawed her way out of the rubble when no one was around. She crawled into an alley and collapsed. That's when Stella Demayo found them.

Stella took them back home with her and nursed them back to health. Missy was in a coma for around three months. When they finally came to, they had no memories.

So, Stella made up memories for them. She told them they were Angel Eleanor Riley Cogwell and her girlfriend. She said they'd been in a car accident and lost their memory, but they were fine now. Stella also gave them antipsychotics that stopped them from hearing the voices.

Since Missy had no other memories, they believed Stella. Thus, they became Angel.

Angel and Stella lived together in domestic bliss for the next two years. Everything changed, however, on the second anniversary of Missy's "death".

Angel was sitting in the living room while Stella was at work. They were watching the news. That's when they saw a segment about the death of Bruce Wayne's adoptive daughter, Missy Carter. Things started to click in Angel's mind.

Missy died around the time Angel woke up.

Angel Cogwell was Missy Carter.

So, they waited for Stella to come home and confronted her. Stella denied having done anything wrong. This led to a physical altercation which led to Stella dead on the ground, a broken shard of glass wedged in her throat.

Missy had killed again.

Disgusted with themself, they fled to the rooftops, where they'd spent so much time as a teenager. This is where she decided to take her life.

Missy Carter was a murderer. They'd killed their parents. Kaleb Greene. Countless criminals. And now Stella Demayo. They didn't deserve to live.

As Missy prepared to jump, none other than Harley Quinn showed up. She asked what Missy was doing and they told her they were going to jump. Harley asked why and Missy ended up spilling everything to her. She convinced them not to kill themself and escorted them back to Wayne Manor.

After Harley left, Missy went to the door and knocked. Alfred answered and ushered Missy inside.

After two years, Missy Carter was home again.
