Where it all Began
"Lady Garnet?"
The man called out as a parchment paper was picked up and placed off to the side. Her blue-golden eyes gazed up from her work in the tower of the Hand. Her quill hit the desk softly as she sar up straight from her hunched over position that she sat in order to write.
"Yes?"
She questioned. The man opened the door fully to reveal a smaller blonde haired boy. She arched a brow wondering what the boy was doing in the tower.
"What is it? I'm a busy woman."
She said causing the man to nod as he walked into the room while pushing forth the boy along with him.
"This is Lord Tywin Lannister, son of Lord Tytos Lannister of Casterly -- "
"Casterly Rock, yes I'm well aware of the Lannister's. What of the boy? His reason of being here?"
She was quick with her question.
"The boy is your new cupbearer, my lady."
Garnet arched a brow. *He* was to be the new cupbearer? She sighed deeply lifting her hand from her desk and beckoning him forward.
"Young Lord, do you know what it means to be a cup bearer?"
"To serve under your ladyship."
"And do you think that is something that you, a Lannister, can accomplish?"
Tywin was silent. He just looked at Garnet with those piercing green-golden eyes he held. The man who had escorted the lad into the room was now a deathly silent himself.
"Pour me some water. Once you're done with that, deliver these letters to the messenger. After that you can sort through my mess of a library -- you do know how to read correct?"
"Yes my lady."
"Good. By the time you're done there supper should be prepared, bring it to me, I eat my dinners in the tower most nights."
Tywin nodded before he gave his quick bow. Garnet sighed deeply and waved them both away. This was certainly a predicament that she had been placed in with a new cupbearer. She had been telling the king for months now that she needed no one, but he insisted that she have some extra help.
Apparently Tywin Lannister was just the lad that was going to be assisting her.
Time drew on quickly and before she even knew it Garnet's door was opening and in came the tray of food from her new help. She didn't even glance up as he entered, but again she was buried in her own work.
"Place it on the table."
She said placing the sand over her parchment to keep the letters from bleeding into the folded paper prior to drying completely. Watching the boy setting the plates down she noticed that he was still standing there, awaiting her orders.
Pulling forth another parchment she motioned toward the chair.
"Sit, eat, you must be hungry."
She told Tywin. Though the boy seemed reluctant to actually move to the chair.
"I'll have something later from the kitchen."
"Nonsense. Sit, eat, it's bad manners to refuse a ladies meal, not to mention if it's from a high ranking lady."
She said as she started to scribble more work onto the paper. Finally after watching her for a long moment Tywin listened to her and sat down at the table.
"Thank you, my lady."
Tywin said starting to eat when he figured that she didn't hear him since she was deep into her work. But that wasn't it at all, she actually had heard him, but wanted to make it seem as if she had no interest in him what so ever.
Even after her small act of kindness.
