16 - Refusal
Frisk continued running along the path. She was sweating now, the heat was too much for her to handle. She saw the lava from under the cliff, making her gulp.
Suddenly, she spotted a building in the distance.
She quickly ran to it, hoping for an escape from the temperature. On the top of the building was a sign, labeled 'LAB.'
Frisk sighed in relief. She wished that the person living here would be kinder and more generous than the others.
She knocked on the strangely cold
door.
Nobody answered. She kept knocking, quietly pleading for them to let her in.
Nobody answered. "P-please let me in..!" She squeaked as she kept knocking.
Suddenly, the door slightly creeked open. It revealed a small... Quivering.. Yellow dinasaour person?
Frisk sighed in relief. "Please let me in."
"N-no! You're a h-human! I-I can't do that!" She whispered in a shaking voice.
Frisk sighed. "This world seriously has problems...." She muttered under her breath. She turned to the monster.
"Please! Just let me in! I promise I won't hurt you! Please!" She pleaded, her eyes full of desperation.
The monster paused for a moment, before opening the door and pulling Frisk in. She yelped, but sighed in content once she felt the air conditioning.
She turned to look back at the monster. She could see her now more clearly, it was a yellow dinasaour wearing a white lab coat.
She was wealding an... Axe?!
She was holding it with shaking hands. "D-don't come near me!" She threatened.
Frisk slowly held her hands up, but she could see that the monster was terrified.
"H-hey, it's okay... I-I won't f-fight you... I just need some help..." Frisk stammered nervously.
"NO NO NO! D-do you know what King Asriel will do to us if he find out that we're keeping a human?!" She yelled, pointing the axe even further.
"I-I just need some--"
"What do you even need help for?!" The monster screamed. Frisk glanced down at her coat and found a name tag.
'Alphys.'
"D-do you know the Captain of The Royal Guard...?" Frisk whispered.
Alphys' axe lowered a bit. Her eyes widened in terror.
"Y-yeah! Oh no, please don't tell me something bad happened to her...!" She said, tears forming in her eyes.
"U-uh.... She was captured. B-because...." She tried to find a valid reason to why the captain of the royal guard would be captured.
She decided to tell the truth.
"I think she was captured because the other members found out that she was helping me..." She said.
Alphys let the tears fall, but held the axe tighter. She wielded it back to Frisk's face, walking forward. Frisk staggered back until she reached the cold wall.
"AND HOW DO I KNOW THIS ISN'T A TRAP?!" Alphys yelled.
"H-hold on! Just wait..." Frisk stuttered and reached to her inventory.
She took out Undyne's Spear and held it in front of Alphys.
Alphys' eyes widened with fear. "W-where did you get that...?" She daid lowly.
"I-I found this on the floor at her house. I-I think she must've dropped it when they took her." She said cautiously.
Alphys (finally) lowered the axe and dropped it. She looked down.
"Fine."
Frisk looked up. "What..?"
"Fine, I'll help you."
