Okay, these kids may not dress up as their favorite character...though then again, maybe they do....but anyway, they do have a strong attachment to their favorite bands. Their favorite movie. Their favorite television show. Disney. Anime. Some random video game you've probably never heard about. One of those famous books everybody and their mother is reading nowadays. They'll probably have pins on their bookbag, wear a fan shirt, fan jewelry, maybe a hat.....And maybe they'll even wear sneakers. I don't know. But almost everything they have is dedicated to their fanbase and there's no stopping them either.
