sibling jealously

*Archer and Sparrow are experiencing some sibling jealousy over their baby sister. Thank you to Rami-Is-A-Sweetheart for helping me write this! Enjoy! ❤️*

Today, Tyler was taking care of Hazel quite a bit, since she's only a newborn. Korey was running some much needed errands that haven't been done since Hazel arrived.

Archer and Sparrow both feel left out and they both really want attention from their mom.

"Mom, can we go to the park today?" Sparrow asks, looking down at Hazel for a moment.

"I can't take you two to the park today, I'm sorry. Hazel needs to stay home so she won't get sick." Tyler says and Sparrow frowns.

"But Dad is coming over to spend the day with you two! Maybe he can take you guys!" Tyler adds, picking up Hazel and rocks her.

"But we wanna go to the park with you!" Archer says and his twin brother nods.

Though the boys love spending time with Troye, they are feeling sad about not hanging out with Tyler like they always did.

"I also need to rest, though." Tyler explains gently, which doesn't seem to help.

Sparrow pouts and stomps out of the room, crossing his arms.

"Why'd she have to come here?" Sparrow mumbles to himself, walking around grumpy.

Archer sighs with annoyance, following Sparrow out of the room.

Troye then knocks on the door, but neither kids answer it.

Tyler stands up and opens the door with one hand, inviting Troye in and holding Hazel with the other hand.

"Hello, how it's going?" Troye asks politely noticing his kids haven't rushed over to him like always.

"It could be better. I think the boys officially hate me now." Tyler says as he and Troye walk into the living room together.

Troye then smiles and softly rubs Hazel's head as Hazel looks up at him. Hazel is now awake after only taking a thirty minute nap.

"Why do you say that, Ty? What's wrong?" Troye asks Tyler curiously.

"Because, Hazel is in her fussy newborn phase and she needs to be held and comforted all day long. Just like our boys were at this age. Korey finally left the house today to run some much needed errands for all of us and Korey will be back at work in a few more weeks, luckily at home but still he won't be able to help me a lot during the workday. I haven't been able to spend much needed time with the boys and I am just stressed out." Tyler says as he frowns and tries to not cry.

"The boys don't hate you, Ty. Don't ever think that. They love you both so much. Both of them are Mommy's boys even though they won't admit it. A new baby is a new thing to them and they didn't know what to expect. Of course friends told them things about a baby but you know how little kids are. I remember Steele and I feeling the same way when Sage was born. You and Korey are doing a great job with Hazel and the boys. Three kids is a lot. I don't know my parents did it with the four of us. But you need to make sure you rest and take care of yourself." Troye says to Tyler.

"I didn't think having a baby with them being seven years older would be this hard and emotional." Tyler says with a frown.

"The boys are just use to having your full attention all of the time. I promise it will get better over time." Troye says, trying to comfort Tyler.

"I don't want the boys to hate Hazel. I don't want her to be the annoying little sister." Tyler says as he frowns.

"Don't worry, they'll be alright. Eventually, the boys will see how fun it is to have a little sister to teach things to!" Troye assures Tyler, giving him a gentle pat on the back.

"Yeah, I guess that's true." Tyler says with a sniffle.

Tyler then takes a few deep breaths and looks down at Hazel who is still awake.

"I'll see if I can cheer them up a bit. I'm sure they'll like hanging out with their old dad." Troye says as he walks over to a chair and sits down.

Troye doesn't want to force anything on his kids, so he's sitting down to let Archer and Sparrow come over.

After a few more minutes of talking and being annoyed in the corner, the twins head over to Troye and finally talk to him.

"Hey, Dad. Sorry about ignoring you before. We're just sad." Archer speaks for him and Sparrow.

"Oh, yeah? Well, we're gonna go out somewhere together. Do you boys want to go to the music store?" Troye asks curiously, thinking of a place they could hang out at.

Both kids seem to perk up a little at the suggestion, starting to feel less upset for now.

"They have lots of books and picks and other cool music stuff. Yeah, I'll go get some money out." Archer decides, running upstairs, to get twenty dollars.

"Me too! Wait up, Archeroo!" Sparrow calls out as he runs upstairs too.

Tyler smiles at Troye and Troye smiles back at Tyler.

"Thank you for taking the boys out for the day, Troye. I really appreciate it. I might take a shower and maybe I'll sneak a nap in." Tyler says to Troye.

"Of course! If you ever need me to take the boys with me for a few days, let me know! I'm not busy with work right now so I can have the boys more often." Troye says as he smiles and admires Hazel.

"Aww, Hazel loves her Uncle Troye. Yes, she does!" Tyler says in a babyfied voice making Troye smile.

"I still can't tell who she looks like." Troye says making Tyler giggle.

"I think she looks a lot like Korey but Korey thinks she looks like me." Tyler says as he giggles.

Archer and Sparrow come downstairs with their money and in wild outfits.

Archer has a rainbow shirt on, rainbow shorts and rainbow crocs while Sparrow has a camo shirt on with yellow shorts on and red shoes.

Tyler and Troye both chuckle at the boys' outfits but Tyler doesn't make them change because he wants to boys to express themselves with their clothes, even though the outfits clearly don't match.

"Here, I'll hold the money so you two don't lose it." Troye says as Archer and Sparrow each hand him twenty dollars.

"Have fun with Dad and be good. Can I have hugs and kisses?" Tyler says as Archer and Sparrow both hug and kiss Tyler making him feel better.

Archer and Sparrow then smile and wave at Hazel even though she doesn't understand what that means. The boys then kiss her forehead, making Tyler relax about the boys being a little jealous.

"Bye, mom." Archer and Sparrow say softly, grabbing some masks before they head out to Troye's car and Troye waves before following the duo.

"I like looking for new guitar picks! Sometimes they have cool ones!" Archer says and gets buckled in his booster seat and Sparrow does the same.

The twins aren't big enough yet to go without any car safety besides seatbelts, but since they are so tall, they have backless boosters.

"That does sound fun! They also have straps and lots of other things." Troye says to his kids, smiling as he begins to drive.

It's also good to support less popular stores like local music shops, so they don't go out of business, so that is what the trio are doing.

Sparrow and Archer talk the whole way there about what they might buy. As musicians, they love visiting places with instruments.

"Yeah! Our guitar teacher wants us to have different picks to try!" Sparrow says to Troye.

"I wanna find another piano song book too!" Archer says with a cheeky grin.

"Ooo yeah! We will be moving up to another level in piano soon!" Sparrow says to Archer.

"That sounds exciting!" Troye says happily to the twins.

"Spare and I asked out piano teacher to teach us some of your songs, Dad!" Archer says with a big grin.

"Woah, really? That would be so much fun!" Troye says making Archer and Sparrow smile.

Soon, Troye, Sparrow and Archer all arrive at a local music store and they all put masks on before getting out.

As the group walks in, they are instantly greeted by a lovely lady who works there.

"Hello! Feel free to ask if you need anything!" The woman says politely, smiling under her mask.

"Okay, thank you!" Archer says and begins to look at piano books while Sparrow looks around at the books too!

Archer grabs the next level for piano as his chosen book and smiles when he sees the songs.

Sparrow picks one up and flips though the book before deciding on the next level one. He holds onto it and Archer goes over to the picks.

"Look at all the colors!" Archer says happily, reading how the signs say the weight of the picks.

"I think I'll get some medium, one heavy and some light picks!" Archer decides, picking out solid colors, a patterned pick and star picks.

Star picks were recommended by the guitar teacher, as those picks are the easiest to grip onto and they come in all the rainbow colors for different weights. Purple behind the heaviest and red being the lightest.

"Did you guys find a few things you wanna buy?" Troye asks Archer and Sparrow with a smile, happy that the boys are in a much better mood.

"Yes!" Archer and Sparrow both say in unison with big smiles on their faces.

"Awesome! I'm glad you two found some things you want to have!" Troye says to the boys as he fixes his mask.

"Dad, can we go and get pizza?" Sparrow asks Troye.

"Yeah! And then ice cream!" Archer says with excitement.

"Sure! Pizza and ice cream sounds good!" Troye says with a smile causing both boys fo cheer.

Troye hands the boys their money and he waits while they count out how much they need to pay.

Archer did the math and him and Sparrow figure out that they both have about five dollars left. The twins then out the change in their short pockets.

"Have a wonderful day!" The cashier says cheerfully.

"Wow, you're really fast at math, Archie!" Troye says happily as they all walk out of the store.

"Thanks! I've been practicing, but I'm not as good as Sparrow." Archer says with a laugh.

"You'll get there! You guys are both so smart!" Troye tells the seven year olds.

Troye, Archer and Sparrow all get in the car and Troye begins to drive to a local pizza shop which is one of the boys favorite places to eat!

"Dad, does Mom still love us?" Archer asks Troye softly.

"Yeah, does Mom still love us?" Sparrow also asks Troye softly.

"Mom loves you two soooo soooo much! Don't ever think he doesn't. You two are Mom's life! You two make him the happiest person alive. When you have a newborn baby like Hazel, they take up a lot of your time. They don't sleep through the night, they wanna eat all of the time and they want to be held all of the time. As Hazel gets older, she will sleep through the night and be able to be awake more and play! I know it feels like Mom is always with Hazel but don't worry he loves you two so much." Troye says to the boys.

"Oh, really? He still does?" Archer asks and shrugs.

"Of course he does! He always, always loves you boys." Troye says, and both kids realize what he's saying.

Sparrow and Archer speak to each other only using facial expressions, then their faces relax into an excited face.

"I wanna get pineapple on the pizza!" Archer says happily and Sparrow makes a face, not liking that idea.

"What if we get that on half? I like olives on my pizza!" Sparrow says and Archer giggles.

"Ew, olives!" Archer says to Sparrow with a grin.

"We can have part olives, part pineapple and part just cheese!" Troye says, comprising with all three of their likes.

"Perfect!" Archer and Sparrow both say in unison to Troye.

Archer and Sparrow both look through their new piano books as Troye continues to drive.

After ten more minutes, Troye and his sons are at the pizza shop and they all walk in after putting on their masks.

"Hello! How may I help you today?" A worker named Ann asks happily and smiles from under her mask.

"Hi, we'll get... umm.. one medium pizza, with.." Troye begins to order, but gets a bit nervous as he speaks.

Ann is very patient though, as she had social anxiety herself.

"With pineapple on part of it, olives on another part and just cheese on the last part." Sparrow finishes the order, since it was a lot to say.

"Okay! Is that all today?" Ann asks while she puts the pizza in the oven.

"Uh, yes, thanks." Troye says quietly, and the twins watch the pizza cook in the pizza oven for a minute before they follow their dad to pay!

"That'll be $10.45, please." Ann says and Troye scans his credit card to pay.

Archer likes how friendly the employees was here and he puts three dollars in the tip jar.

"Here you go! Enjoy!" Ann says as she hands the pizza to Troye.

"Thank you!" Troye says to Ann with a grin.

"Thank you!" Archer and Sparrow both say in unison to Ann.

"You're welcome! Enjoy!" Ann says with a cheeky smile.

Troye, Archer and Sparrow all walk outside to find a table to sit down.

Sparrow and Archer happily sip on their sodas, something they don't get to drink with Tyler much.

"Thank you, dad!" Archer and Sparrow both say in unison as they both pick up a piece of pizza.

"You're welcome! Are you guys having a fun day?" Troye asks Archer and Sparrow as he picks up a piece of pizza.

"Yep! It wasn't so fun earlier, but now it is!" Sparrow says and his twin agrees.

"Yeah, and we like pizza! And now, we have soda! Mom never lets us get it!" Archer says with a cheeky grin.

Sparrow takes a few bites and hums in content. He was pretty out of the jealousy by now, though it lingered.

Both boys were quiet for a while, just enjoying the food.

Tyler texts Troye, making sure the boys are okay. Troye takes a picture of the boys enjoying their pizza and making sure to not show the sodas.

"Take a picture for Instagram!" Archer says as he poses for a picture.

"Yeah! Do it for the gram!" Sparrow says making Troye laugh.

Troye didn't post the boys as much on his Instagram since he didn't use the app as much as Tyler did.

Troye takes a picture of Archer and Sparrow smiling as they each hold up a piece of pizza.

Troye then adds a little filter on it, nothing too crazy since he doesn't want the boys to think they have to add filters on pictures.

Troye writes the caption on the picture as "just being a regular dad that buys their kids olive + pineapple pizza for lunch. the life of two 7 year olds. I fucking love my boys ❤️"

"Do you boys want an ice cream now?" Troye asks and both seven year olds cheer.

"Yes, please! Then we can go back home, right?" Sparrow asks, figuring out what they were doing.

"Of course! Come on!" Troye says happily, smiling as they all get into the car again and Troye begins to drive to get ice cream.

Being the fun parent, he likes spoiling the kids a bit, and it gave them quality time together.

"What kind of ice cream do you two want?" Troye asks the boys.

"I want cotton candy ice cream!" Archer says with a big grin.

"And I want cookies 'n' cream ice cream!" Sparrow says with a big grin too.

"Mmm, both of those flavors sound super good!" Troye says with a smile.

The three of them soon park at an ice cream shop, and Sparrow, Troye and Archer all get out of the car and head into the store.

"Hello! Let me know when you're ready to order!" An employee named Lennon says to the customers.

"Okay! We will!" Archer and Sparrow both say in unison, looking at the flowers and toppings while Troye decides what ice cream flavor he wants.

Although, Sparrow and Archer knew what flavors to get.

"Look! They have Rocky Road! And lots of sauces!" Archer points out, making Troye chuckle.

"You guys can both choose one topping." Troye says in his dad voice, not wanting the boys to get too hyped on sugar.

"Hi! I like to have a sugar cone with cookies 'n' cream ice cream and chocolate sauce!" Sparrow says to Lennon.

"Hi! I like to have a sugar cone too with cotton candy ice cream and rainbow sprinkles!" Archer says to Lennon.

"And I like to have a waffle cone with strawberry ice cream!" Troye says to Lennon.

"Coming right up!" Lennon says as they begin to make the ice cream cones.

"I love you, Dad." Sparrow says to Troye softly as he hugs him.

"I love you too, Dad!" Archer says as he also hugs Troye.

"I love you both very much." Troye says as he hugs both boys happily.

Troye never thought he would want or ever be a dad. Troye just wanted to have fun and make music. But when Troye and Tyler found out they were having twins, their lives changed forever and in a great way!

Troye was just almost twenty when the boys were born while Tyler was almost twenty five.

One by one, Lennon gives Sparrow, Archer and Troye their ice creams!

"Thank you so much!" Troye says to Lennon happily.

Sparrow grabs some napkins for just in case.

"Yes! Thanks!" Sparrow and Archer say to Lennon as well, while Troye pays for the ice creams.

"Thank you! Have a nice day!" Lennon says cheerfully, and Troye, Archer and Sparrow walk outside to eat.

"Thanks for getting us ice cream, Dad!" Archer and Sparrow both say to their father.

"You're welcome! It is fun to get a treat once in awhile." Troye says as he takes a bite of his strawberry ice cream.

Sparrow has ice cream all over his face while Archer wipes his gave every couple of licks of his ice cream.

"Auntie Sage is going to fly in to visit me for a few weeks! So when you two come over this weekend, she will be at my house!" Troye says causing Sparrow and Archer both cheer happily.

"Yay! I love with Auntie Sage visits! She is sooo fun!" Archer says with a smile.

"Dad! Make sure she brings the cookies!" Sparrow says playfully and Archer laughs.

"Yes! Bring the yummy cookies!" Archer says to Troye.

"Thank you for reminding me to text her to bring the cookies!" Troye says with a smile.

"I like the Tim Tams! They are sooo good!" Archer says and Sparrow nods in agreement.

Sparrow finishes his ice cream cone and wipes his face off, giggling at his messy his face is.

Archer and Troye finish up their frozen treats soon after and head back to the car.

"Ready to go back to Mum and Hazel?" Troye asks his kids.

"Yeah. It'll be nice." Sparrow agrees while they start to drive.

Troye texts Tyler to let him know that the boys are on their way home.

Tyler replies happily, happy that the boys are in a much better mood and had a fun day with their dad.

Once the twins get home, they happily spend the rest of the day with Tyler, Korey and Hazel! :)
