ALISSA MANAGED TO MAKE IT TO THE PARKING LOT BEFORE HER ARM WAS GRABBED FOR THE SECOND DAY IN ROW. She harshly spun around, arm raised, but it dropped when she realized it was Peter, letting out a breath of relief. After the previous events of the night before, she was a little weary still, and so was her family after hearing of the close encounter. They were thankful that Spider-Man swooped in (Alissa made sure to let them know she still had it handled) and brought her home, safe and sound. Kelli and Scott were happy she wasn't harmed, but annoyed that Spider-Man had swung in. They didn't say anything, but their dislike of Spider-Man was clear on their faces despite them not saying another word about him.
"God, you scared me, Pete," Alissa panted, lazily dropping her hands down at her sides, catching her breath. Peter coughed a little, panting a little after racing out of the school to stop her from leaving. He finally had his chance, and he wasn't about to lose it again. Not again. "You can't just grab girls at random and—"
Alissa was cut off by Peter carefully grabbing his cheeks and pulling her lips to his. She was frozen, body tensed up and lips unmoving with his. However, realizing what was happening—finally, and again—she kissed him back, closing her eyes and savoring the moment. She smiled into the kiss, breaking the kiss the same time as Peter. It was a little rushed, but it was much needed.
A blush coated her lips, her voice seeming to be failing her. "Um, w-what was that, exactly?" She asked, tucking some stray hair behind her ears, trying to keep her eyes from looking into his that she felt burning into her. The sun beat down on them, and despite the cold that still swaddled them, she felt her face burning hot.
Peter let out a nervous laugh, scuffing his feet along the pavement, hands tucked in his pockets. "You didn't really give me a chance to kiss you back, so, I just did it myself," he answered.
Alissa's head perked up, a smile working onto her lips even though she tried to hide it. She rubbed her hands together, biting her lip, "Were you really?"
Peter nodded. "Y-Yeah. I-I like you, too."
Alissa's eyes enlarged, a gasp that sounded much like a car alarm came from the back of her throat. She clamped her hands over her mouth, ducking her head down to hide her embarrassment from him as he loudly laughed. She was so embarrassed in that moment, but she couldn't believe what had happened in just a span of eight minutes.
She poured her heart out to Peter.
She kissed him.
Then he kissed her, and most importantly, he said he liked her, too.
She wasn't sure if she was meant to cheer and jump in his arms or just lamely nod, acting as if it wasn't the best thing she'd heard all year.
Peter pushed some hair back from his forehead, Alissa finally straightening out and pushing her hair aside so it wasn't blowing all around in her face. The two made eye contact again, smiling and grinning like twins teenagers hopelessly in love with each other.
But then the bell rang.
Their smiles faltered, realizing that they were now both late to class. Alissa sighed, but then she remember they were both headed to Physics, a small coming to her face as she remembered. "You wanna walk to class together?"
"I'd like that."

The rest of the day went by much faster than Alissa would've liked. With only two days now left in the semester and before their last exams for the year, teachers were piling study guides onto all of their students, adding points to the test if they brought the study guide completed back on test day. There were a few assignments that Alissa had left to do and focus on, not even having time to talk to any of her friends about what happened with her and Peter. She was certain that Peter told one of them, but when she didn't a receive a text from them, she realize he hadn't.
There wasn't anytime to double check as she had to completely focus on geometry. The teacher was going over some last minute details, Alissa jotting down every word and equation that was said, planning to try and memorize it all. Peter was in the back of the room, watching as she did so. None of their friends were in there, but it was kind of a good thing, seeing that Peter and Alissa had been stealing secret glances back and forth at each other the entire hour.
"Now remember, you can use your note card on the final exam, but be careful with what you choose to write on them," the teacher cautioned, Alissa barely listening as she wrote down one last equation to the note card that was provided for her. She had a feeling she wouldn't struggle so much on the test, but even if she did, she wouldn't fail which was a plus. Her grade was already at a C+, and she was really aiming for a B+, or at least a B- so she didn't have any C's or below. All of her other classes were fine, but sure, she would have a few problems, but they were easier than geometry.
Once she was done with her note card, she tucked it away, stealing a glance over her shoulder towards Peter. The seat beside him was empty, giving her the perfect chance to hop down and sit beside him with just a few minutes of class left, the students chatting with their friends or working on some last minute questions with the teacher who was more than happy to help. Alissa lifted up her bag and walked through the rows, plopping down beside Peter who grinned.
"Hey," Alissa murmured, "So, about earlier. . ."
"Yeah," Peter nervously laughed, shaking his pen, turning to face Alissa. "About that. . ."
"I know now isn't really the best time to talk about it, especially with everything that's going on lately, but do you wanna meet up after school or something to, I don't know, talk about it?"
"Yeah, yeah, sure. And I'm sorry I haven't been to the study sessions lately, but if you still need help, we could meet up later tonight, or tomorrow after school, i-if you'd want," Peter suggested, his eyes flickering to the clock at the very front of the room.
"Tomorrow works for me since Brian has a hockey game tonight, so, yeah," Alissa replied.
Peter smiled, tapping his pen and putting it in his bag. "All right."
"Is there a chance you might even tell me why you're so bruised up?" Alissa slyly tried.
"It's nothing," Peter dismissed, hiding a wince with a turn of his head as he shrugged on his book bag. "But hey, I got an internship with Mr. Stark."
Alissa gasped, a smile coming to her face. "That's amazing, Peter," she couldn't hide her excitement for him. "Why didn't you tell me sooner? We could've taken you out to celebrate or something."
"It's really not a big deal, it only happened a few days ago," he said shrugging like it was nothing, trying not to sound as happy as he was about it. He was certain she already knew he was excited, but that didn't mean he had to prove her suspicions right. "I just file paperwork, and stuff. It's really not that cool."
"So? It's an internship with Iron Man," Alissa beamed, "That's the coolest."
Peter chuckled, mumbling, "I think I know something that's cooler."
"Like what?"
Peter turned, Alissa having heard him. He didn't think she would've as his voice was lowered, but she had. A sweet smile was placed on her lips, her head tilted in that adorable way Peter adored. "Spider-Man?" He said, his reply sounding more like he was asking her.
Alissa snorted out a laugh just as the bell rang, signaling the end of the day. "He's cool, I guess, but," she walked around the table, stealing a glance back at him, a coy grin now on her lips, "But Iron Man's cooler."

I honestly wasn't even going to continue with Alissa storming off, but I felt bad doing that so I decided not to do what I originally had planned and chose to make Peter go after her cause after realizing he liked her back and that she admired to liking him, I don't think he would've just let her rush off, so, there you guys go! I hope you liked it!
This is more of a filler chapter, but I hope it was at least cute, too. So much in this wasn't even going to happen, but it did and the other stuff can wait until the next chapter! But while this was maybe cute, the next one might not be so cute, or happy even. I'm not entirely sure yet, so we'll see!
So, don't forget to leave some feedback in the comments! Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this short little filler chapter!
