Chapter Two

You groaned in pain, finally gaining consciousness as you felt a sudden pressure on your face. You slowly opened your eyes, only to see the one and only Henry giving you "CPR". Your eyes flew open and you quickly shoved him off of you, gasping at what you had just woken up to. You sat up, stuck out your tongue, and wiped it off with your jacket sleeve. "WHAT THE FUCK?!" you screamed at Henry, but your anger didn't last long as you felt a sharp pain hit your head causing you to wince. "Well, well, well... Little miss (y/n) fell down. How sad." You heard James sneer from where he was sitting by Henry.

You looked around, seeing huge purple walls and pillars reaching high above you, the only light source around was the hole that you had just fallen into about twenty or twenty five feet high. You felt something soft underneath you and looked to see a bed of bright blooming yellow flowers, you smiled at how pretty they were. Other than the flowers and walls you saw a single entrance to a corridor and your friends sitting just a bit away from you. You scratched your head to try and figure out what had just happened.

You turned to Mia and William, who were closest to you, "What- What happened?" you asked confused. William mumbled, "Well.... You remember the story about the monsters and the war and such?" he asked, you nodded in response. William cleared his throat, "It seems we have fallen into the Underground... W-with the monsters.... And th-there's no way up." he stuttered, Mia pulled him into a hug to calm him down. Henry groaned, "Look guys, why don't we go look around for a bit and try to find a way out?" he suggested. James hummed in response and stood up from where he sat, closely followed by everyone else. You pushed yourself off of the ground, slightly shaking from pain and your sore limbs, and your heavy backpack didn't help. William saw this and walked over to you, his hand reached up and swung your backpack off your shoulder and onto his own. "I can take it for you." he offered, though he had already taken it, you mumbled a 'thank you'.

James was in the lead as he walked towards the entrance to the only corridor around, but he stopped about ten feet away. His twin Henry walked up beside him, slightly limping as he did so, "Hey bro why did we st-" he cut off after looking in the direction James was. Mia and William were curious and went up to the brothers, they too stopped and stared at something. You sighed, "What's going on guys?" you asked annoyed and went up to join them, but you gasped at what you saw.

A single golden flower stood in front of you, but it wasn't a normal flower, it had a face and was staring straight at you and your friends.
*Howdy!
*Well gosh, I've never seen so many humans!
*I'm Flowey!
*Flowey the flower!
You laughed a bit, causing the flower's attention to land on you as it gave a confused expression. "Flowey? That's your name?" you snorted, but the flower just looked at you innocently. It nodded its 'head',
*Well yes.
*Got a problem with that?
His mouth grew wide like something out of a horror movie and his eyes narrowed down to crazy slits. You gulped, "N-no! It's a very nice name! I just didn't think I would ever meet a talking flower...." You stuttered and held up your hands in defense. The flower's expression softened,
*What's your name human?
William looked at you with wide eyes, as if telling the monster your name would kill you, and he shook his head in a silent 'don't do it' gesture. "I'm (y/n)." you stated confidently, "This is William. And Mia. And James and his twin brother Henry." you pointed to each of your friends as you listed off their names. They all waved awkwardly at the little flower, you just chuckled at their actions.

Flowey sighed,
*(y/n)?
*You seem nice and all but...
*Ah! What am I saying?!
*I guess I can try and help you leave...
*But you have to promise me something!
You nodded, "Uh yeah. What do ya need?" you asked plainly and shuffled your feet. Flowey looked at you, then at your friends, then back at you before he sighed and looked at the ground.
*The monsters you will meet will try to take all of your souls...
*I need you to make sure they don't succeed in doing so.
Flowey looked up at you with pleading eyes, you couldn't help but feel pity for him, so you nodded. His expression lit up and he smiled,
*Thank you (y/n)!
You giggled a bit and smiled, you fixed your crooked jacket and shoved your hands in your pockets. James cleared his throat to get Flowey's attention, "Hey weed? What about leaving? You said you would help us." he stated with a hint of ignorance in his voice. Flowey laughed, he looked around before pointing towards and old boot by a broken pillar,
*I can help you yes.
*But you need to take me with you if you want to survive.
You caught onto what he was saying and walked over to the old boot. You picked it up, walked back over to Flowey, put some dirt in it, and Flowey hopped into the boot. You looked at him impressed, "Okay... So now what?" you asked him and picked him up in the boot.

James crossed his arms, he was told to be in the back of the group because he was rude to Flowey. William was in the front with Mia right behind you and Henry behind her. Flowey thought for a moment,
*We should go to Toriel's, it's safe there...
*But to get there we have to go through the ruins and all of the puzzles soo.....
*Just go down the hall until you find the first puzzle.
Flowey finished talking, the directions seemed simple enough and you just shrugged and started following William down the hall, still holding Flowey. Once in a while you would hear a complaint about walking so much but you honestly didn't care, "Will you guys be quiet?" you asked the back of the group and all the voices fell silent.

As you continued to walk down the hall Flowey suddenly jumped up,
*STOP!
He yelled, William stopped dead in his tracks and turned around to look at Flowey. "What? Why did you yell 'stop'?" he asked confused, Flowey pointed to the floor with one of his leaves. You followedyou gaze to where he pointed and noticed tiles all along the floor, each one had sharp spike points sticking out of small holes.
*It's the first puzzle.
Flowey spoke, his voice held fear but he tried his best not to show it.
*If you wish to survive, follow my instructions VERY carefully.
He continued,
*Walk five steps straight ahead.
*Then walked two steps to the left.
*Then forward five steps....
*Right two...
*And finally straight ahead.
Flowey finished saying his instructions. You nodded and carefully tried to remember what he had just said, but William was the first to go out into the puzzle. He walked forward five steps, then he went left two, then only four steps forward before he turned to his right and walked. "WILLIAM!" you screamed at him, but it was too late. You watched him turn to face you, then a sickening sound echoed through your ears as you saw him get impaled by a spike. It cut right through his stomach, his eyes grew wide and blood began to pour out of the area around the spike where it had impaled his body.

You watched in horror, "WILLIAM!!!" you heard Mia scream, but all you could do was fall to your knees and hold your hands over your mouth. Henry and James started to cry, along with Mia, but you and Flowey stayed silent. You watched as William gasped for air, his body jerked once then fell still, his chest went flat and his eyes glazed over. A moment later a glowing green heart appeared in front of him, it hovered above his body. Flowey gasped,
*(y/n)!
*Go grab his soul!
You snapped your head at him, "What?!" you asked shocked, Flowey pointed to the Green heart.
*Grab his soul before some other monster does!
You then understood, you nodded and followed the directions Flowey had told you, making your way to William's dead body. You gagged at the stench and the sight, carefully you reached out and grabbed the soul, it hovered above your hand as you walked the rest of the way through the puzzle.

When you got to the other side you stared at the soul, it's glow was faint but still there, and it felt warm in your hand. Flowey looked back at the others,
*Let's go guys!
*Just remember what I told you to do and walk an extra step past William's body!
He called out to them. Henry and James nodded, Mia just blindly walked out into the puzzle, not even caring where she stepped. Before she could step on the wrong tile, Henry grabbed her and pulled her back, "Watch out Mia! William wouldn't want you to end up like him." he gently led Mia the rest of the way through the puzzle and James followed closely behind. When Henry had said he takes he did to Mia, you had felt William's soul warm up for a second, almost as if he was agreeing. You shook your head to clear the thought, he was dead and no one comes back after dying.

When the others where safely on the same side as you, you looked at Flowey with tear stained eyes. He sighed,
*I-Im sorry (y/n)...
*I know he was a good friend.
*I could tell.
He apologized, a flash of sadness appeared on his face but quickly disappeared right after. James was growling, "MIND TELLING US WHAT THAT WAS?!" he rose his voice at Flowey, who flinched et the sudden change of volume.
*That was what happens when you die down here.
*Your soul leaves your body as one of these...
He pointed to William's soul, that was still floating above your hand.
*(y/n)?
You looked at Flowey, "Hm?".
*You have to crush the soul.
*You must so no monster can use it for evil.
You nodded slowly, using all of your strength you closed your hand around the soul and it crushed into tiny pieces before vanishing all together. Flowey looked at you again, you stayed quiet for a moment. "Tell me more about souls. Why was William's green?" you asked out of curiosity.
*Souls....
*Well they uhh....
*They come in seven different colors and personalities.
*Each represents the host.
*Blue for integrity, purple for perseverance, yellow for justice, light blue for patience, orange for bravery, green for kindness, and red for determination.
You took a moment to process what he had just told you, and when you looked at your friends you saw them thinking about it too. Henry looked back at William's body, "So he had a green soul... That means the soul of kindness? Do you know what kind of souls we have?" he asked Flowey and looked back down at the floor. Flowey shrugged,
*I can't tell.
Is all he simply said before turning back to you. You sighed, wondering if more of you would die, and if anyone would make it out of the underground alive. Mia had already tried to kill herself, you didn't want your friends to die, and you didn't want to die either. "We should get going." you said quietly, before you could start walking you felt a sharp pain hit your head and you groaned. You swung your hands to your head and grabbed it, dropping Flowey and falling onto your knees in the process. You screamed as you heard a high pitched ringing sound, it drowned out the worried questions your friends we're asking you. You felt like someone had just shot you in the head, soon black spots started to cloud your vision, so you clamped your eyes closed. When the ringing stopped you could hear footsteps rushing over to you, not caring enough to see who it was, you felt a hand touch your back, but it wasn't a human hand. You shuttered, shakily looking over at who the new person was, they looked at you with worried eyes and an almost sad expression. "Flowey?! What happened?! Why is this child hurt?!" A very motherly voice came from the new person. They were a tall white fuzzy goat lady, she wore a purple dress with white sleeves and a weird symbol on the upper torso area. Flowey stumbled over towards the goat lady, "I don't know! Toriel, can you help her?!" he asked scared. Toriel looked at you and nodded, "Yes. But we must hurry back to my home." she quickly ushered everyone as she picked you up to carry you. You felt too weak to mov, or even speak, so you just waited for her to start moving. Soon enough they started to quickly walk to Toriel's house, you couldn't keep your eyes open and passed out as they walked. Consciousness faded from your grasp and you felt the world go cold and black, you internally shivered and let yourself go.

You woke up to a warm feeling in your chest, your eyes slowly opened and you were greeted by a bright light. You blinked a few times, letting your eyes adjust to the new light setting before looking at your surroundings. The room was small, but cozy, and the walls were a nice shade of rose red. The bed you were laying on was comfy, you were covered in a red plaid blanket and your head rested on a plain white pillow. You saw a wardrobe next to the bed, a small book shelf next to the wardrobe, a lamp on a stool, pictures and posters on the walls, and a nice red rug on the center of the wooden floor. You smiled, it made you feel safe in such a normal looking room, that was until a goat monster came into the room. But this goat monster was different, it was shorter than the one you had seen before you passed out. It wore a green shirt with a cream stripe and dark blue shorts, it also looked like Toriel. He smiled, or at least that was the gender you gave it, and he skipped over to the bed. "Come on Chara! Let's go play!" his voice was cute, like a child's, and you felt yourself smile at him. You were already sitting up, so you swung the blanket off of you and slide off the bed. "Okay!" you heard someone say, it didn't sound like you, but it came from you, so you shrugged it off and walked over to a mirror on the wall. When you looked at yourself you saw a little girl with pale skin, reddish brown short hair, rosey cheeks, red eyes, and a similar outfit to the goat kid's. 'Hmmm. That's not what I look like. Wait... Am I dreaming?' you thought to yourself and without knowing you started following the goat kid. "Hey Asriel? Can we go see mom? She promised me pie." you asked, again it wasn't your voice, but Asriel nodded with a happy smile. 'No no no no! I want to wake up!' you screamed in your head, now realising you weren't in control of the body you were in. Then all of a sudden it all went black, and you found yourself stand in an endless void. You saw Asriel kneeling down next to the kid you had just been, they were dead, and you saw Asriel crying. Then they vanished, turned to dust and reappeared, but they were different. Asriel was laying in a small field of golden flowers, he slowly turned to dust as you saw a heart {presumably his soul} rise from the ashes and shatter into oblivion. You gasped, thinking to yourself, 'Is this what a monster that died looks like? Or when they die?'. Asriel's dust blew away into the void, you watched for anything to happen, but nothing ever did. You closed your eyes.

You opened your eyes and blinked a few times, guessing that you had woken up from your dream. You looked around and saw you were the same room as before, but Flowey was in his boot next to the bed with his back facing you. You sat up and held your head, feeling slightly dizzy, you closed your eyes for a second before opening them again and taking your hand off your head. You cleared your throat to try to get Flowey's attention, he quickly turned to you with a surprised look and smiled. "(Y/n)! You're okay! I thought you died!" He started to cry slightly, you smiled at him sweetly, "I'm fine Flowey. Just a bit confused and dizzy." you gently reached a hand over to him and patted his head. He wiped his tears away with a leaf, "You are in Toriel's house. Well, her spare bedroom to be exact." you nodded, now remembering what had happened before you passed out. "How long have I been out?" you asked and looked around the room curiously, Flowey thought for a moment, "Maybe five days." he finally answered. You snapped your attention to him and stared wide eyed, "Five days?!" you rose your voice and mumbled to yourself. Flowey flinched at your tone, "Yeah. Five days.... But how are you feeling now?" he tried to change the subject. It worked, "Okay. Dizzy, but okay. And I had a strange dream... I was a different person, a little girl. And I was in this room when a little goat boy showed up," you saw Flowey tense out of the corner of your eye. "He asked if I wanted to play and I got up. When I looked into a mirror I saw the little girl, she had short reddish brown hair and rosey cheeks.... That's all I can remember of the girl.... But then she asked if she could see her mom before they left...." you stopped, seeing Flowey giving you a terrified expression. His expression instantly darkened, "Chara." he growled, "Yeah. That was her name.... How did you know?" you asked the small flower. He sighed, "(y/n)... I lied about who I am.... My real name is Asriel. When I died I became Flowey, and that little girl you saw was Chara.... My best friend...... B-but you should stay away from her! She's evil, and will kill anyone for no reason at all!" he looked at you scared, you looked down, trying to comprehend what he had just told you. When you didn't feel like it was all that bad you nodded, "Okay." you answered him. "Can we go? I want to eat some pie." you said randomly, Flowey looked at you confused, "How did you know Toriel makes pie?" he asked. You tilted your head, "It was in my dream." you explained, Flowey nodded. "Don't say anything to anyone else. Okay?" he started hopping over to the door before you picked him up to help, "Okay." you smiled and left the room with him in your arms.

Oooooo long chapter. How was it? What do you think of Flowey? Is he hiding something? If you have any suggestions for what should happen just comment! Bye!
