chapter 19
Kavin's confidence and how eloquently he presented in front of Singhania, might have not surprised dushyant, but surely did make him proud of his little brother.
'now, in terms of accounts..' started kavin, as dushyant got more careful. Finances and accounts was his department, kavin never got them and to dushyant they just made sense. Similarly kavin's game was in marketing, which dushyant simply despised to do.
But today, he not only worked on his own to learn some basics for the presentation, he did so by getting up early. He was no longer a guy who wanted respect and prove himself, today he actually went ahead and earned it.
At the end, dushyant realising that signhania will be having grilling questions, decided to take them up. His little brother might be growing up, but he isn't going to stop protecting him so soon..
Finally, signhania left, not happy, and not shocking anyone, but he was surely impressed. Kavin was clearing up the files at the end of the presentation, when dushyant walked closer to him,
'kavin.' He called his name, making him look up.
'haan, bhai?' asked kavin.
'i'm proud of you..' he said as he patted his shoulders, as a huge smile crept on kavin.
'really?' he asked in giddy, like a little kid, as dushyant nodded, as kavin with the unbearable excitement just hugged him, as dushyant chuckled lightly, as he realised, his little brother might not have disappeared completely in this confident young man.

Ishita picked up the last shirt to hang on the closet. She brushed her fingers across its placket, as a smile crept on her face thinking of dushyant. She took out a hanger as she gently placed the shirt and hanged it on the closet. She walked back as she gazed at the closet, everything was finally arranged, she sighed in relief. Dushyant might have said he would clear the space in the closet for ishita's clothes, but his closet's condition made ishita do it herself as it needed some serious cleaning.
She heard the horn of dushyant's car, as she walked downstairs.
'arre acha hua tu khud hi neeche aa gayi. Mujhe kuch baat karni hai tumse aur dushyant se.' Said mrs khanna, as dushyant and kavin arrived.
'kya hua mummy ji sab thik hai?' asked ishita, tying to understand what it could be.
'arre bhai kya ho gaya?' asked dushyant as he heard ishita, to which she shrugged.
'arre maa, humne decide kiya tha na saath mein baateyenge...' remarked kavin as he walked towards his mom.
'arre tabhi toh tere aane ka wait kiya na..' replied , as dushyant just got more perplexed.
'arre koi batayega ho kya raha hai!' exclaimed dushyant.
'bata doon?' asked mrs khanna with a mischevious smile to kavin.
'ab bata hi do...' replied kavin reciprocating the mischief.
'khulo isse, tum dono ke liye surprise hai...' said as she handed over an envelope to dushyant, who raised his brow as he looked at his brother and mother,
'arre aisa kya dekh raha hai? Koi bomb nahi hai ismein..' remarked mrs khanna.
'yeh toh Port Blair ke tickets hain...' remarked dushyant, as he took out the tickets from the envelope. (waise jab main bhi kahi thi na toh harain thi ki yeh honeymoon pe jaane waali max population cellular jail mein ghoom rahi hai...symbolic huh..)
'mummy ji, iski kya zaroorat thi..' said ishita, as she looked at the two tickets..
'arre, bilkul thi zaroorat..ab shaadi ke baad kyun nahi jaoge honeymoon pe?'
'aur nahi toh kya, mummy ko bhi ab pota-poti chahiye yaar...kitna wait karein bechari..'
'arre par maa...' said dushyant, mostly annoyed by the mention of kids, when he got interrupted by kavin
'arre yaar, kambal hi aadmi ho, honeymoon pe nahi jana chahte..' remarked kavin.
'maine kaha aisa?' said dushyant, in sort of the strict tone he usually reserved for his office.
'acha chodo yeh sab, ab samaan bandh lena, parson ki hai flight..' informed to which ishita nodded.
While kavin patted dushyant's shoulder as he exclaimed, 'enjoy!' and left for his room, while dushyant just couldn't wrap his head around the idea of kids...his kids...the idea just terrified him.
'dushyant?' said ishita as she shook his arm, and he came out of his thoughts.
'huh?'
'khaana lagadon?'
'haan...woh...main zara fresh hoke aata hoon.' He said as he rushed to his room.
'inhe kya hogaya?' thought a perplexed ishita.

Purvi browsed through internships online nonchalantly, nothing seemed to be something she was looking for. She didn't know what she was looking for, but it just wasn't there...until she found something that caught her eye and captivated her attention.
This was it the first step at the platform she has wanted to work for all of her dreams and hopes and aspirations, this was it.
She applied with dreamy eyes and shaky hands, overwhelmed with fear and joy at the same time. She closed her eyes as she took a deep breath, and pressed send.
She was paralysed for a few seconds, her head suddenly filled with worries of multiple mistakes she could have made. She was breathless, but it was the second her heart assured her that it was going to be fine, that she will be fine, she finally closed the laptop as she headed to sleep.
She curled up with her blanket pulled close to her chest, as she dreamed of probably her life 10 years from now as she calmed herself down, but the excitement was taking over her every time she tried to. This was a beginning that she might have been waiting for her whole life...
