chapter 50

Anushka's whatsApp chats were displayed on a phone, placed on the table.

A girl, hardly 16, looked up, scared, as abhijeet glared at her, leaning back on his chair.

"Toh beta, aise kya messages bheje anushka ne aapko joh ab delete ho gaye hain?" questioned abhijeet, clearly this was the very last of any politeness he had left inside of him, he was an erupting volcano, ready to burst at any moment.

"Uncle, woh... Actually...." the poor girl tried to utter the words in response from her mouth, but to seemingly no avail.

"Dekho beta, tumhe anadaza bhi nahi hai, kitna serious maamla yeh hai... Pleased joh pata hai batado, woh tumhare liye bhi acha rahega.." Warned abhijeet, massaging the temple of his forehead in sheer frustration.

"Uncle... Woh....Anushka..." She was about to reveal, when paswan entered abhijeet's cabin suddenly, in panic.

"Sir, anushka bhi gayab hi gayi hai..." Informed paswan, as abhijeet was shaken, seriously taken aback by the information.

Clearly, there was something very wrong going on here.

Ishita stopped her car in middle of an abandoned road of a forest, as she looked over to the passenger seat.

"Uth jao... Pahaunch gaye..." Informed ishita, shaking the occupant of the passenger's seat.

Slowly emerged a figure that was previously laying before, only for anushka to be in front of ishita's eyes.

"Yahan chup jao aaj ke liye, phir 4 baje ki train hai tumhari, ticket bag mein hai." Instructed ishita, as anushka nodded, unzipping her bag.

Ishita placed her hand on her shoulder lovingly.

"Don't worry, abhi thoda darr lagega, baad mein tum khush hogi, ki tum apne ghar se bhaag aayi..." Assured ishita, as anushka just shook her head in disbelief.

"Pata nahi woh chodne ka itna dukh kyun ho raha hai jab main wahan kabhi khush hi nahi thi... " Sighed anushka deeply in sorrow, as she zipped her bag up and opened the car door.

"Thanks again..." She said, before leaving , a relieved smile on her face.

"Mention not, as long as tumhari friend wahi bataye joh maine kaha tha..." Replied ishita, clarifying the condition, as anushka nodded.

"Don't worry, agar mere kavin uncle ke kehne pe bayaan se unhe jasmine pe agar shak hua bhi hoga, ab unhe yakeen ho jayega, ki yeh sab bani ne hi kiya hai." Responded anushka, as she got out of the car, leaving for good.

Ishita closed her eyes, taking a deep breath, only for a smile of satisfaction to come on her face.

Suddenly her phone rang. She picked it up to answer, the caller ended up having outrageously perfect timing.

"Ho gaya kaam?" Confirmed dushyant from the other end of the call, as he was working on his laptop in his office.

"Aur nahi toh kya, sources bas purvi ke paas thodi hai... What did she think, it'll be so easy to fool me? Anyways, we should be thankful though, anushka apni family se khush nahi hai woh toh mujhe pata hi tha and we could use that information at the right time..." Ishita expressed her thoughts on the occasion, when some typing noise accompamied from dushyant's side.

"Woh ladki ka pakka haina lekin, jaise kaha hai waise hi bolegi?" Questioned dushyant for surety.

"Darra diya tha usse ache se, you know how these kids are, they are too sheltered to know anything...it was quite easy to convince her ki woh iss sab mein phas sakti hai." Remarked ishita, as dushyant scoffed.

"And i used to think ki yeh humare bachon ke liye asli competition ban sakte hain.." Retorted dushyant, as ishita too chuckled.

"Maybe they are just rich, not powerful.." Noted ishita, pondering over it.

The file room for delhi police had just as much security as was expected, none. Bani quietly entered through the window, her black hoodie perfectly camouflaging with the night's darkness in the sky.

She switched on the flashlight of her phone, as she looked over the dusty files.

She kept looking until she found what she was looking for.

Finally, her hands came onto jasmine's missing case file.

She quickly flipped through the pages, only to find the evidence bags at the end.

She quickly took out two pouches, of evidences collected from jasmine's room:a scrappy and crinkly diary, with uncomprehendeable drawings in red ink, along with the bloody butcher knife.

God knows what she was up to now.
