A light covered her face as she opened her eyes to embrace the power coming hurtling towards her. Had she really made the right decision this time? The power hugged her as if it was her friend and a tear came down her cheek. She had rejected Mamoru Chiba, but who could blame her? He was annoying and she clearly despised him, so why was there so much pain in her heart? Usagi used her index finger to wipe away the tears falling from her left eye. The odango wearing blonde couldn't help but notice it, even though it was hard at first. She was remembering the past, too. Usagi knew that she couldn't have a love like Endymion and Serenity again. She had changed the future for good this time.
She felt power emanating from him. Beams of light were blinding her sight. She handed him his renewed pocket watch, knowing that she had made an error in her judgement trusting her intuition. Usagi had changed the course of the future. She knew everything. There were images flashing through her mind. Images of what could have been, what may have happened. Alas, it wasn't the case. Her eyes began to droop closed and eventually she fell into a slumber that could have lasted forever.
...
She had seen this dream before, she had. A reflection of Sailor Pluto in the mirror, telling her that by being with her true love, Haruka, Usagi had changed the course of history. There was a future with Mamoru that kept on being continually shoved in her face. A child much like Chibi-Usa, except different. This child had red eyes, was spoiled and quite bratty, as well as very shameless. Yet, sometimes, she could be sweet as a strawberry around her friends. And the strange thing about this Chibi-Usa was that she never grew old. In Usagi's dream, that version of the future melted before her eyes and, through a new door, Sailor Pluto took her to a different future.
This time, there was the blue eyed, pink haired Chibi-Usa that they'd gotten to know. Neo-Queen Serenity, who was Usagi's future self, just had the faintest tint of pink to her hair. There was a party happening, and Haruka was giving everyone cake whilst serving assumedly alcohol-free cider to everyone. The Chibi-Usa that they had gotten to know was rushing around, greeting everyone and making herself known. She was chatty, talkative and eager, yet she had a bit of spunk to her, something she definitely got from Haruka.
So, the child that had fell out of the sky was her child? Usagi was taken aback but not surprised. So that the two differing futures would not deter her from the reason she, Sailor Pluto, had appeared before Usagi, she pressed a gloved index finger to Usagi's forehead. This made Usagi step back awkwardly, as Sailor Pluto seemed to be dragging her into a different world. She was falling faster and faster down a hole. She shivered with fear as she glanced around, Sailor Pluto's face seemingly stuck in front of hers for an eternity.
"Recall it..." the Guardian of Time repeated over and over, Usagi falling further and further down. "Recall them... Recall what happened to your friends before you could make this choice..."
"What do you mean? Sailor Pluto, I don't understand!" Usagi yelped, not realising what she was being told to recall was hidden in a locked chamber within her mind.
"You must recall what happened... Be sure that the route that the future is one you want to take... Make sure you don't make the wrong choices..." Sailor Pluto murmured ominously, transmitting power through her index finger's tip.
"Ouch! Stop! This hurts!" The girl who was the Guardian of Justice shouted out. She flinched as the symbol of her kingdom flashed on her forehead. A yellow crescent moon appeared and began to emanate light and glow. "Please, stop! We can work this out!"
Usagi shut her eyes as she let information pass through her head. She saw it clearly through her own eyes. Her Guardian Goddesses falling one by one, overusing their power to protect her. She was not entirely sure what this vision was of. She knew what happened in the Silver Millennium between herself when she was Serenity, and Mamoru when he was Endymion. Was it so bad that she did not wish for a love that would end in tragedy? She just had ti wait for the special someone, of course.
More images flashed through, torn fukus, faces battered, hair destroyed from a seemingly endless war. It was the punishment for not following through with the true course of history. It was this fight that Usagi had suppressed her memories of. Whilst they hadn't died, their method of transformation was destroyed in the fight. The Sailor Pluto in those images was watching as a potential future crumbled before her eyes.
"NOOOO!!!!" Usagi screamed out, watching the battle play out in front of her. "NO!"
...
"NOOOO!" Usagi was shouting as she awoke from slumber, panting in a hurried manner. Breathing with the speed and vigour of someone who had just run a marathon, the middle school third year looked around her room.
The world blurred into focus around her. She was in a room that seemed vaguely familiar. Her friends were surrounding her and her girlfriend, Haruka, was patting Chibi-Usa's head. Everyone was smiling and all of them seemed relieved, all for a reason that Usagi couldn't quite figure out. All she was concerned about was whether her decision was in any way correct.
She couldn't believe her eyes, nothing really felt like it was actually happening. Whatever was happening was occurring seemingly in slow motion. The odango wearing blonde felt dizzy and disoriented somehow. She was shaking even more than she had before she had fallen asleep.
"Look, Ruka! Dumpling's finally awake!" Chibi-Usa laughed, a big beaming smile on her face. She held onto the edge of the mattress the blonde was sleeping on just a moment before.
"I told you before, kid, her name's Usagi," Haruka chuckled in response, an arm resting on Usagi's shoulder. "Dumpling-chan is my nickname for her."
"Ruka, if Michiru lets me use the shortening of your name that she uses, Chibi-Usa can call me Dumpling," muttered Usagi, only half awake.
"Usagi-chan, are you alright?" Minako asked.
"V-chan, that's the thing..." Usagi began. "I don't know where to begin."
Chibi-Usa scampered off, following Makoto. The brunette was allowed out of the room because of a conversation Usagi was not made aware of, obviously one that occurred before she awoke.
"Well then, Usagi-chan, I will explain why you're in Minako-chan's house before you get started," Ami whispered, shuffling some papers in her hands.
