Kris Wu ~ The Second Romeo

"What are you doing here?" Kai asked, almost glaring at his ex- girlfriend.

"Oh hello Jongin. You seem glad to see me!" She smiles as Kai scoffs.

"Glad to see you my ass." He muttered, not loud enough for her to hear.

"Krystal, why are you here?" Luhan ge said, trying to sound polite with a smile. "We're in the middle of our dinner and in our secret room. How did you find us?"

"It's easy! I've seen you and your guys walk in here all the time, and it's about time I get to see what this place is." Krystal says as she places herself between Chanyeol and me. "So what's for dinner?"

Krystal places a silky napkin into her lap, and sees the meat.

"Ugh, I think my appetite is ruined." She makes a face and turns to me as I ate silently. "Kris ~ I have to tell you something."

I ignored her, and I can feel everyone's eyes on me.

"I don't want to hear it." I mumbled.

"But it's really important." She persisted.

"I don't care."

I could tell Krystal as upset, and I found her eyes trailing towards Lu ge's cream envelope.

"What's that?" She asks.

"None of your business." Kai snaps.

"Obviously, I'm not welcome here." She says, standing up.

Krystal walks towards the exit, and then turns around.

"But it's not my fault if I have information about Anna and J2L. You guys were the ones who kicked me out." Kryatal says as we look at each other.

I look at my friends, and Kai and Luhan ge shook their heads.

The silence continues, and Krystal leaves, her heels clicking on the floor.

"How the hell did she find us?" Kai mumbled.

"We need a padlock or something so that she won't get in." I say, and leave the table and sit on the couch.

"I don't think Krystal knows much about Jin and Anna even if she and Hana are friends." Chanyeol says as we look at him.

"You're right." Kai says. "Because she only thinks for herself. Jiyeon and Hana are just a collection of friends to show others that she's at the top."

"You really hate her, don't you?" Luhan ge asked as he nods. "Krystal thinks that we don't know who Jin is and what Hana's doing with him."

His phone buzzes, and as he checks his phone, Luhan ge's eyes widen.

"Yah. Read this." He says, pushing his phone towards us.

My eyes quickly scanned the screen and saw Hana's text.

To: Krystal

I just saw Anna with Seok Jin!

To: Hana

OMO! Srsly?

To: Krystal

Yeah. She was hugging him too! I think they're friends or something.

To: Hana

Do you think they're dating????

To: Krystal

Idk if they are, but I think they're just friends.

We looked at each other, and looked at ge in disbelief.

"Wait, Luhan hyung, you can see texts?" Kai asked.

"I can see whomever and whatever I want, as long I don't tell and destroy all evidence." He says quickly as Chanyeol added, "This is what Krystal wanted to tell us."

"No, it's not." Luhan ge says as he scrolls down and we see this:

planning 2 have Jimin kidnap u the next few days over 2 hangout. just letting u know...

i'll call Sooyoung unnie 2 take me there! y do u want Jimin 2 kidnap me? shouldn't u bring me there?

"Wait. She's seen J2L already?" Chanyeol asked in surprise as Luhan ge nodded.

"Jinja?" I ask, surprised.

"What?" Kai exclaimed. "They're moving faster than I thought!"

"I'm sure she knows that we hate each other." Luhan ge says.

"She might need to choose between us if things get intense..." Chanyeol murmured.

Things got quiet, and we heard another voice.

"Did anyone miss me?" A loud voice echoes through the hall, only to have Chen show up waving aggressively.

"C-Chen hyung!" Kai stuttered. "What are you doing here?"

"We thought you were in the Caribbean for vacation." Lu ge says.

"It was cut short." He says and slides into a chair and picks up Chanyeol's chopsticks.

He takes a piece of meat, and I asked, "What did you do this time?"

"Duizhang, I swear it was harmless." He says, hands up.

"What you do is never harmless hyung." Kai says as Chen nods.

"Huh. You're right. So anyways, long story short, I accidentally crashed one of my dad's favorite cars."

"What?! Are you ok?" Luhan ge asks.

"Luhan hyung, yes I am. If I wasn't, I'd be at the hospital, right?"

"How'd that even happen?" Chanyeol asked.

"My dad wanted to bring his car Daebak to the Carribean to show off to his friend, who was also with us. I asked appa if I could drive around, you know, sightseeing. It took him forever but he said yes. I was distracted by a pretty group of exotic woman and wanted to show off. The next thing I knew, I crashed into a stupid tree."

A silence follows, and we started cracking up.

"I swear. You're really stupid sometimes, hyung." Kai chuckles as Chen made a face.

"It's not my fault! It's my dad for letting me use Daebak!"

"What's the joke?" Kai asked, confused.

"There isn't one. Wait, on second thought, the joke is to never get grounded for something stupid that you do." Lu ge says.

"Yah. I seriously missed Korea though. It's too hot and sunny there in the Caribbean. There wasn't much for me to do except horseback riding, stingray swimming, snorkeling, riding around... I was bored."

"You're always bored with everything." Lu ge says as Chen spoke, "What's that folder, Luhan hyung?"

"Oh you really did miss out on some things though." Kai says.

"Like what?" Chen asked.

"There's a new gold born who's a Seol."

"Of Seol Hotel Group and Lovely Seol?" Chen says as we nodded. "A new gold born...? Hmm. Interesting."

"But the bad thing is that she knows J2L." Chanyeol says as Chen's eyes widen.

"She? And J2L? Seriously?" Chen asked as we nodded.

"Who is she?"

"Seol Anna." We all said.

"She's really cool. You know that during these few days, she's spoken back to Krystal and doesn't care."

"Really? I'd like to meet her. She sounds great already."

"She helped me win at Deal or No Deal." Lu ge says as Chen's eyebrows went up.

"You suck at that game! Your luck is terrible."

"I know right? And yet I won." Lu ge smiled smugly.

"But... she's related to Kim Seok Jin." Kai says.

"Like... blood related?" Chen asks as we shook our heads.

"Like childhood friend crush related." Lu ge states as Chen mouths a silent, "Wow."

"So... she's like the bridge between the two sides. But how are we going to keep her on our side?"

"I dunno... Anna doesn't seem to be like the type to do stuff like that." Chanyeol murmured.

"I reckon she'll be closer with J2L with her being childhood crushes with Seok Jin." Chen says as he points to Chanyeol. "How's the cousin? He say anything about her yet?"

"No." Chanyeol said. "Myungsoo hyung didn't text me or anything."

"Yah. Having a family member on the enemy team isn't good bro. But it's a good thing that you came to us." Chen says, patting Chanyeol's shoulder.

Seol Anna ~ you

When I woke up this morning, I realized that it was Saturday, which meant that my parents, uncle Woo Yeol, and aunty Sae Young had already left for their little vacation in Pyeongchangdong.

Which meant that aside from the butlers and maids, Hana and I were alone in this house.

I checked the clock, which read 10:24 am. I got up, and brushed my teeth on the balcony as I soaked up the sunlight for a bit.

After washing my face and combing my hair, I went down the stairs to find a stranger sitting on the couch.

"Umm... who are you?" I asked as he looked at me.

"I can say the same thing. Where's Hana?" The guy says as I heard my cousin's voice.

"Chen oppa! What are you doing here?" Hana asked, as shocked as I am.

"I was bored, so I thought that I'd drop by to see how you were doing. I didn't know that you had a guest."

"She's not a guest, she's my cousin!"

We all looked at each other, and I say, "Seol Anna-mida. I'm Hana's cousin from our dad's side. It's nice to meet you."

"I'm Kim Jongdae, or Chen. I'm friends with Kris and Chanyeol. And Luhan and Kai. And 1 more person who isn't in Korea at the moment." He says as I look at him weirdly.

"She doesn't know?" He asked my cousin as she nodded slowly.

"Then... do you mind if I borrow her for a few hours?" He asks.

"Sure. Don't do anything to her, or I'll kill you." She says as I smiled.

"Don't worry dongsaeng-ah. If he kidnaps me, I know what to do."

I see his eyebrows raise, and I head upstairs.

"I'll be down in 5." I say as quickly went up the stairs. As I changed and made sure I didn't look dead, I thought about how Chen said that he was friends with the guys and... 8 other people? What was he going to tell me?

I climbed down the stairs wearing a long light gray tee with jean shorts and my light gray low top converse. I carried my phone and other important things in a small tote bag.

I entered the kitchen and found Hana eating and looking at her phone.

"I'll see you later. Don't leave without telling me, and don't set anything on fire. Make sure you tell your chef to make you food when you're hungry. And make sure the doors are locked, ok? I can't have some stranger entering the house and kidnapping you. Oh and I'll get your favorite smoothie if I go to a café." I say as Hana gave me a nod.

"Arraso unnie. I know." She says as I went up to give her a side hug.

"I'll be leaving now. I'll call you when I'll get back."

"Annyeong unnie! Come back safely!" Hana says as I met Chen, who was already at the front door.

"Wow. You two are really close, huh?" He asks as I nodded.

"We're practically sisters, so..."

"Get in." He says as he opens the door to a Tesla. Like a gentleman, he closes the door and gets into the driver's seat and turns on the engine.

"Where are we going?" I asked him as he says, "Somewhere."

It was a rather short drive to our destination, and Chen led the way to a rather cool looking room, which was similar to the hangout of Jin and his friends.

"Is this your hangout room or something?" I asked. "With Chanyeol and the others?"

"How'd you know?" Chen asks, surprised.

'I better not mention Jin to him...' I thought, remembering that my friend hates them and vice versa.

"It was a lucky guess." I say, plopping on the couch. "So... I'm here because?"

Chen was busy at a barista bar, making a drink. "Do you want something?"

"I skipped my breakfast because of you, so yes please." I say as I heard him chuckle.

He returns back with two cups of coffee and a slice of cake for me.

"Thank you." I say, thankful for him putting cream and sugar into my coffee.

As I started eating, Chen leans back on the couch, and studies me as he took sips of coffee.

"What?" I asked, feeling awkward.

"How come you're new?" He asks as I asked, "Pardon?"

"You're gold born, right?" He asks as I nod.

"I am. No one knows me because of my parents. They didn't want me to be known to the public."

"Overprotective parents, or... illegitimate child?" He asks as I glared at him, putting the plate and fork down.

"For your information, I am not some sort of love child; I am the daughter of Seol Woo Bin and Seol Hye Jung!" I exclaim as he gave out a chuckle.

"Just making sure." He says as I continued to glare at him.

"I suppose you want to know why I took you here." I nodded and let a sigh out.

"Well, to introduce myself again, I am Kim Jongdae. I go by Chen. I'm the heir of Korea Transport."

"The heir for boats and airplanes?" I asked as he nodded.

"So here's the story. Kris and Luhan hyung, Kai, Chanyeol, the vacationing maknae and I are the 6 famous heirs of Seoul known as EXO."

"So there's 6 people in EXO." I state as he nodded. "And you all are gold born... Famous?" I asked.

Chen looks at me with disbelief and says, "Of course we are! We're pretty popular at school too. I have my own fan club." He stated as I muttered, "Made up by one person."

"Yah." He says as I chuckled. "I'm kidding. You're not bad looking, so I'm sure the girls will fawn over you."

"Thank you." He clears his throat and continues with his little informational lecture.

"And we hate J2L, who are ugh- your friends." He says as I made a face.

"Why do you guys hate each other? It doesn't make sense!"

"It does. And the reason why I took you here was to explain why we're enemies."

A silence engulfed me as I only let out a sigh.

"It's not that hard to understand why though. Seok Jin's the one that started it."

"Hey! Can you just stop blaming everything on my friend and how horrible their group is?"

"Just wait until you hear the entire story."

After a lonnggg explanation, what I basically shortened the story down to this:

01. Jin and Kris were somehow friends when they were young.

02. They both liked a girl, who was also their friend.

03. Because Kris lived in Seoul, he couldn't tell the girl that he likes her.

04. Jin also wanted to confess, but didn't because he was moving away.

05. On the last day that the three friends could meet, Kris was about to leave and saw that Jin had kissed the girl.

06. When Kris and Jin met again in Yonsei, they ignored each other and went to their separate groups.

"And is that seriously why you guys are sworn enemies? Just because of a girl?" I asked, skeptical as Chen nodded viciously.

"Of course! As heirs, we can't let a person lower than us financially and ugly win."

"FYI, Jin is not ugly and financially lower than the rest of us. What happened to heir equality?" I asked. "But... It's not Jin's fault, it's Kris's fault because he didn't confess!"

We both sat there quietly, processing what I just said. Chen and I were so deep in thought that we didn't hear the soft footsteps behind us.

"I'm glad you have so much faith in me." A husky voice said as Chen stood up, eyes widened.

"Hyung!" He says as I turned around.

My eyes widened when I saw Kris's dark eyes staring at me.

I stayed quiet as I saw Kris's figure plop down next to Chen as he sat down.

"I'm disappointed Anna." Kris says as I look at him with a questioning look.

"Is it because I'm sticking up for my friend?" I shot at him although I knew that wasn't the answer because of this look in his eye.

"No." Kris states, and beckons me to go closer to him with a wave of a hand.

I leaned forward, wondering what he was going to tell me. It better not be something about Jin.

"I thought you said that you liked me in front of Krystal." He says as I blushed a bit.

"Do you really not remember?" Kris suddenly asks with softened eyes.

"Remember what?" I asked, getting more and more confused. Kris's eyes looked so desperate for some reason.

He leans closer and as do I. Chen does the same, and we hear Kris say, "You were-"

"Kris hyung!" I recognized Chanyeol's deep voice. We all sat up and turned to meet a panting Chanyeol with disheveled hair.

He takes a deep breath and announces, "Some...thing- something happened."

"What?" Kris asks. Chanyeol, who was squatting and holding his weight on his knees stood up and looked at us all in the eye.

"Our families... the company. We're enemies." We heard him mutter the last sentence.

"What is it?" Chen asked.

"Anna..." Chanyeol said sadly with an upsetting look in his eye as he looked at me. "Anna's family and our family are enemies." Chanyeol spoke clearly as I furrowed my eyebrows.

"What? Why?" I asked. "How did that even happen?"

"Our companies... Kris hyung, your dad and Anna's dad. Hyung." Chanyeol looked almost terrified as he spoke.

"Your dad, I mean our dad is competing with Anna's dad. I mean the hotels! Our dad's new hotel is competing against Seol Group's hotels for the *Forbes's National Hotel / CEO Award."

[ *not a real award in real life I think, but the winner of this award shows who's the number one family and company in the country. The competition is so vicious that classmates and friends have been known to break apart because of their parents's companies. ]

I widened my eyes. I knew what the Forbes's Awards could do to any company. I've heard appa say this before and that rival companies usually bloom at this point. You just really have to hope that your friend's or classmate's company isn't competing with yours or else the two will become enemies thanks to their company or parents. Besides me, I'm pretty sure the news Chanyeol brought us is going to break things apart.

"We're... enemies?" I whispered. "But I just got to know you guys."

"But what about the rest of EXO? Are we all involved in this?" Chen asked.

"Not technically, but you know how our fathers stick up for each other, we need to too." Kris murmured.

I looked at my new friends in disbelief. I stood up and turned towards the exit.

I was at the end of the hallway when I heard his voice say,

"You were the one Jin and I liked."

I turned around to look at their faces with shock written all over mine. I recalled why he looked so serious and desperate earlier.

His question kept on repeating itself in my head as I walked along the sidewalk.

"Do you really not remember?"  Kris's question and Chanyeol's statements haunted me for the rest of the day.

'I do.'  I spoke in my mind.

'I remember it faintly.'

I was in the back of the Mercedes Benz with Sooyoung unnie driving in front.

"Why is it that I always pick you up when you look upset?" Unnie asked, chuckling. "Is it the new rivalry with Wu Hotel?"

I nodded, and saw unnie's eyes in the rear mirror.

"I hope it doesn't get too intense." Sooyoung unnie says and continued to drive.

we need 2 talk rn. text back.

To: 안나바나나

k. where?

-

I looked around outside, and recognized that I was near J2L's hangout.

-

To: 핑크진

i'll be @ the hangout in a few.

-

To: 안나바나나

ok. see u later.

"Unnie. Can you drop me off here please? I'll call you later."

Sooyoung unnie slowly stops and drops me off at a sidewalk.

"Okay. Be safe, alright? And thank you for the strawberry cake!"

"No problem unnie. I'm glad you liked it." I gave unnie a smile. "I'll see you later then. Annyeong."

"Bye Anna~ " Sooyoung unnie smiled as I got out of the car. I waved her a goodbye and closed the door.

As the car drove away, I tried to remember which street it was to the hangout.

After walking for 5 minutes on a long street, I saw a familiar figure on the sidewalk opposite of me.

I waved, and he waved back.

He jogs over with a smile, and says, "I was waiting for you."

"Thank you Jin-ah." I said as we walked in the late morning air. "Did you go home safely last night?"

"Yeah." He says as I heard a different tone in his usually cheerful voice.

"You didn't go home." I pointed out as he slowly nodded after a few seconds.

"Ok, I didn't. I spent the night at the hangout." My friend confessed, putting his hands in the pocket of his light gray sweatpants.

I thought that it wasn't a good time for me to scold him about going home because of his parents, so I kept quiet.

"You wanted to talk to me?" Jin's soft voice entered my ears, breaking the sound of traffic and our footsteps.

"Yeah." I say, seeing the familiar neighborhood. "It's about when we were younger."

"What about us?" Jin asks, turning his head to look at me.

I blinked, and faced my friend.

"Do you remember... Yi Fan?" I asked, the Chinese name feeling foreign to my mouth for many years of not calling him that.

Similarly, I saw Jin's shoulders tense up, as well as his face.

"Yi Fan." I heard how my friend said that name so strangely. Jin clears his throat, and says, "What about him?"

Jin avoided my gaze and looked towards the distance.

"Was it true... that he liked me? That you two liked me?"

"Who did you hear that from?" I heard the fear and surprise in Jin's voice.

"Yi Fan himself. You know who I'm talking about Jin."

A silence I've never felt before made the air around us tenser than it already was.

"You're not answering me." I say as I caught his eye.

"Because it's true." I turned to him to confirm this.

I looked into Jin's eyes and I knew that he wasn't lying.

I couldn't believe my ears. My childhood crush said that he liked me.

And I thought that I was the only one that had a one sided crush.

But that wasn't the case. The international boy from my childhood summers met me again 8 years later with his confession.

"That's why you guys are like this?" I asked. "Because of me, you two became..."

"Enemies." Jin and two other voices answered my statement.

Jin and I turned around as I came face to face with Chanyeol and Kris.

I saw how all their eyes hardened at the sight of each other.

How did I get caught in this mess?
