Believing
Elsa's P.O.V.
It feels so great to be free. Not a care in the world. No one around to bother me. No need to stay hidden. But then again, it got a little boring. I mean, I don't have anyone to share this freedom with. I was alone. But it still felt good. Then, a strong gust of wind open the doors to the balcony. It was probably just the wind. But I was so high up. It's not like the wind was that strong up here. Was it? No, it couldn't be.
I walked to the doors and closed them. Another gust of wind, a breeze this time, blew past my face. I quickly turned around and held my hands up for defense. "Who's there?" I asked. A familiar figure walked out from the shadows. The reason I recognized him, was because of his blue hoodie and staff. He had come back for me.
My jaw dropped and I couldn't speak. "Jack?" I managed to say. He stopped and moved back a little, also surprised.
"You can see me?" he asked. This brought me back to my first encounter with him. He had said the exact same thing. That was the very first time I had someone to depend on in my years of isolation.
I nodded, happy he was with me again. But then, I frowned. "Why weren't you with me all of these years? I trusted you. I can't believe you left me when I needed you most," I said, my last words fading off into a whisper. I looked down, tears welling up in my eyes. Why did he leave me for all of these years? When I needed a friend. A shoulder to cry on.
He walked to me and raised my chin so that I was looking at him. "What makes you think I would leave you?" he asked. He released me and I became puzzled. I tilted my head, confused.
"But I didn't see you," I said slowly, trying to figure out what he meant.
"Just because you didn't see me doesn't mean I wasn't there." Then it all made sense. But how? Why had I stopped? I thought I believed in him. But that didn't matter anymore. Everything in the past stayed there. I have decided.
"I didn't know," I said softly.
"It's fine," he replied, brushing everything away. "The past is in the past, right?" I smiled. He moved away from me and examined the palace. "I love what you've done to the place," he said, looking around.
I smiled and replied, "Thank you."
"This reminds me of something. Where have I seen this castle before?" he asked, somewhat sarcastically. I blushed and looked down.
"One day that castle would stand proud and tall."
