Department of the Army

The Pentagon

Washington D.C.

In a general's briefing room:

Cyber Security Expert: Sir, we just received an intelligence report that the KVA are planning to attack a major Japanese city.

4-Star General: Which is?

Cyber Security Expert: Academy City.

The 4-Star General sweats in fear of one of the most advanced and technological cities of the world getting attacked.

4-Star General: When are they going to attack?

Cyber Security Expert: In 3 days time. About 0000 hrs US Eastern time.

4-Star General: What assets do we have who are on the ground right now in Academy City?

Cyber Security Expert: Let me check....we have a Marine Lance Corporal who has the ability to deflect Esper and Magic abilities.

4-Star General: Touma Kamijou....alright, let me give him a call.

Back in Academy City:

Touma's POV:

It was about 8:00pm at night, as I was eating dinner for Index in the meantime. Man, Index has got a big appetite, putting a dent in my Marine paycheck. At least the chow hall has food, just in case if I have to run over there.

As I was finishing my dinner, I got a call from someone. I stood up and grabbed my phone to see who it was. I widen my eyes in surprise. It was General Smith, one of my parents friends who referred me to the Marine Corps.

Me: Hello sir?

General Smith (A/N: that 4-Star General from earlier): Kamijou, son, it's good to see you again.

Me: Good to see you again sir.

General Smith: Let's get straight to the chase, I was just informed by Army intelligence that the KVA is going to attack Academy City in 3 days time.

Me: Do you know what time they are going to attack sir?

General Smith: The intel guys said around 0000 hrs Eastern Time, which is 1300 hrs Japanese Time.

Me: Crap, that's not a lot of time to prepare, sir.

General Smith: But I trust you, son.

Me: How big is it sir?

General Smith: They said it might be the biggest invasion of the KVA so far.

Me: Let me get my commander on the line with this. The local law enforcement here, Anti-Skill and Judgement, even though they are advanced and have espers in their ranks, they won't be able to hold off a KVA invasion for very long.

General Smith: Do what you must son, Army reinforcements won't arrive until 2 hours after the fighting starts.

Me: Yes sir.

General Smith: Alright, take care.

Me: You too sir.

General Smith hung up the line afterwards. I had get this information to command of the nearest US base here, which is us, the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines. I called up my superior in command of the battalion, Lieutenant Colonel (LtCol) Max. I dialed his number and he immediately picked up.

LtCol Max: Lance Corporal Kamijou, how are you doing?

Me: Good sir, how about you?

LtCol Max: I am doing just fine. Is there something you wish to tell me?

Me: General Smith from the Department of the Army just called me, sir.

LtCol Max: And what seems to be the situation?

Me: They say that there is going to be a KVA attack in 3 days, at 1300 hrs Japanese time, and is going to be the biggest KVA attack yet, sir.

LtCol Max: Alright, that's all the information I need to know. I will set up a meeting with the rest of the Marines tomorrow on how to mount up a defense. You on the other hand, you will be given the task of meeting up with Judgement and Anti-Skill and having them video call us to have a joint meeting between the Marine Corps and Academy City law enforcement. Is that clear Kamijou?

Me: Yes sir, I will inform one of my friends, a Judgement member right away.

LtCol Max: Do what you must.

Me: Yes sir.

The LtCol hung up and I put on my Marine MARPAT uniform and got ready to go to Mikoto's place, as Kuroko was there and I need her to inform Anti-Skill and Judgement on how to mount a defense with us Marines.

I think I never ran so fast in my life, running for dear life around the empty streets of Academy City. Curfew wasn't going to stop this time, as this is way more urgent. Once I reach Mikoto's dorm, I knock on her door, panting along the way.

Mikoto (IJ): Hey Touma, what are you doing so late?

Me (IJ): Mikoto love, I need to tell your roommate something urgent.

Mikoto (IJ): Kuroko-san! Get over here, Touma needs to tell you something!

Me (IJ): Mikoto, you might want to listen too.

Mikoto (IJ): Anything for you, love.

Kuroko, Mikoto, and I dicuss all about what is going to happen in 3 days. I explain to her the situation at hand, and that the LtCol requests a vid call with the rest of Anti-Skill and Judgement to coordinate a defense against the KVA attack.

Kuroko: Alright, I'll get my superiors at Judgement and Anti-Skill on the line in a bit. Has Corporal William known about this yet?

Me (IJ): No, but you should tell him, so that we can attach him to a Marine team. We need to get as much people as we can, regardless of branch, as General Smith said, this is going to be the biggest invasion of the KVA so far, as previous attempts have seen them botch their attempts.

After I said that, Kuroko dials up the Judgement and Anti-Skill HQ numbers and I explain the situation to them. They agreed to have a vidcall with Marines stationed near here. I sigh in relief, tommorow was going to be a long day...

Mikoto (IJ): Are you alright love?

Me (IJ): Yeah...just thinking about how tomorrow will go. I just don't want the joint operation to be botched...otherwise, we would be screwed.

Mikoto (IJ): Do you want to sleep here tonight? Seeing you in a condition like this is sad enough.

Me (IJ): Are you sure? I'm only in my Marine uniform and I haven't brought any clothes to change into.

Mikoto (IJ): It's alright, since you're my boyfriend, I would care less.

Me (IJ): Alright then, if you say so.

Luckily for me, I had a toothbrush and some toothpaste hiding in my pockets, so I took them out and brushed my teeth before I went to go cuddle with my beautiful girlfriend before we both went to sleep, me of course wrapping my arms around her body, which felt so comfortable.
