"Lani O'Brien has safely made it from checkpoints Ruby to Galena..." The radio was playing, loudly, on the other side of the room to Ryder.
Lily was sitting at the table. She pretended to not care but, every time Lani's name was mentioned on the radio, she seemed to listen.
Ryder stopped pacing up and down the room so that he could sit beside Lily. They both sighed.
"Only eleven more checkpoints to go," Ryder told Lily
"When she gets to the fourth last, Elim, we'll leave in the truck. We'll just make it in time to see her finish," Lily spoke, quietly. Ryder nodded.
"The contestants will rest before start again at 1800. The race will continue then," Other then the radio everyone was silent.
