Lukas and Jesse walked together, side by side. The sky was turning beautiful shades of pinks, oranges, and reds as the sun started to set. They contrasted greatly with the green of the park the two walked in. A faint breeze brought a slight chill to the summer night, also making Jesse wish she had worn her jean jacket. Her hands went to hold her arms, trying to prevent any more warmth from escaping.

Lukas turned his gaze to Jesse, seeing her shiver slightly with her hands wrapped around herself. He slipped his leather jacket off and placed it over Jesse's shoulders, making the ebony-haired girl look up at him. "You looked cold," Lukas explained. Jesse smiled up at the blond, causing his cheeks to flush a faint pink. "Thank you," she replied. Lukas could feel a sudden shyness take over him, throwing his cool out the window. "Y-You're welcome," he stuttered. Jesse lightly laughed at seeing the normally confident blond now flustered by her. It was something she wasn't used to but definitely didn't want to stop.

As they continued walking, Lukas tried to will himself to reach out and grab the midnight-haired girl's hand. But, he found himself unable to do so. Instead, the most he could do was brush his hand with Jesse's, bringing her attention to what he was trying to do. Jesse smiled as she instead reached out and took Lukas' hand, twining her fingers with his. The blond felt a smile tug at his lips as he started to lead Jesse in the direction of a red and white checkered blanket under an ancient oak tree. After reaching it, the two sat down on the blanket, their eyes on the sunset. It was a marvelous sight to see, the yellow sun sinking below the black silhouettes of buildings and trees, sending its final rays of reds, oranges, and pinks sprawling across the sky like paints across a canvas.

"It's so beautiful..." Jesse whispered. Lukas looked over at Jesse, seeing the sunlight reflected in her gorgeous green eyes. The wind lightly ruffled the loose locks of coal-black hair that hung down from her bun. "Yeah, but I can name one thing more beautiful," Lukas started. Jesse turned to Lukas, meeting his blue gaze with her green one, a slight challenge in her eyes. "Oh really?" she asked. Lukas hummed a yes in response. "What is it?" she asked, genuine curiosity in her eyes and voice. Lukas smiled as he leaned a miniscule inch toward Jesse.

"You."

A blush spread across the obsidian-haired girl's face, her eyes widening and mouth hanging open in a small o. Lukas raised his hand to caress Jesse's cheek. Jesse smiled up at the blond, her smile reflected back at her from Lukas. Slowly, Lukas leaned closer and closer. The gap between the two lessened with each passing second. If it were under different circumstances, Jesse would have pulled away immediately. But, she found herself frozen to the spot. It wasn't like she wanted to move anyway. Their eyes slowly fluttered to being almost closed, their lips hovering not even a centimeter away. After what seemed like an eternity of waiting, the gap had disappeared, their eyes closed, and their lips gently touched in a kiss, full of meaning and love.

The kiss lasted only a few moments before the two pulled their lips away. Lukas leaned his forehead on Jesse's, a smile playing on both their lips. The two opened their eyes to meet gazes again before Jesse leaned in and pressed her lips to Lukas' again. Lukas smiled against Jesse's pale pink lips, moving his hand to support her head as he deepened the kiss. When they pulled away, both of their cheeks were flushed red and small laughs escaped their lips. "How did I ever get so lucky to meet you?" Lukas whispered. Jesse smiled as she placed a small peck on Lukas' nose. "I could ask the same thing to you," she replied. Lukas smiled back as he wrapped his arms around Jesse's waist, bringing her into his tight embrace. The sun had set, leaving the new couple embracing each other in the faint moonlight above.
