Little thing before we start, I'll be uploading a new chapter every day. This one today, the next tomorrow, and so on and so forth. Enjoy!

"Jesse, you can't really be thinking about going on a date with him!"
Jesse rolled her eyes for the fourth time at her friend's comments on her upcoming date. He desperately tried to give her reasons to call it off, but she didn't listen. Sure, they were her friends, but that doesn't mean they controlled her life. "I'm going on a date with him and that is final," Jesse replied, her tone even with a sharper edge to it. "You guys, we can't dictate who she sees. If this is what she wants, then let her have it," Petra commented from her chair on the opposite side of the room. "But Lukas doesn't deserve Jesse! He already has all those girls chasing after him, why not choose one of them?!" Axel growled. Olivia placed a hand on Axel's shoulder in an attempt to calm him down.
Axel was a big, muscled young man with black hair and somewhat tanned skin with brown eyes. He was very protective of his friends and wasn't very open to the thought of someone like Lukas hanging out with Jesse, which is where his more hostile side came out. In reality, he was a big, cuddly teddy bear! Well, a teddy bear with a thing for explosions and anything else of the sort. Olivia was the smart one of the group. She had dark skin, almost a shade of chocolate, with brown eyes and black hair tied into two pigtails. She was generally the most level-headed person of the group and had a knack for calming Axel down.
Now, Petra was, well, it was kinda hard to describe Petra. At first she seemed like some badass that would be the main character in an action movie, but in reality, she was more like a wallflower. Not really staying in one place, never really interacting with many people—even her own friends—and mainly hung out in places that not many people visited. She was also the harmonizer of the group, always trying to find a more peaceful solution and trying to open her friends' minds to accepting other people—people like Lukas—into their group.
She had been unsuccessful so far, and now she finally succeeded.
Jesse stood up to her full height from bending down to look through her dresser. In her arms, she held a few articles of clothing. "Now, could you guys maybe leave for a bit? I need to change," she said. The three friends stood up and left, closing the door behind them. Jesse laid the three outfits on her bed before stepping back and examining each. The first outfit was pretty fancy, a red, knee-length dress. Not really something Jesse normally wanted to wear. The second option was a pair of black jeans and a t-shirt. Even though it seemed to be the best option, Jesse didn't know where Lukas was going to take her on their date, and she wanted to at least look presentable.
The third option was a simple, over-the-head, pale pink summer dress that went down to just above her knees. It was light and flowy, perfect for the summer, but it was nice enough to wear on a date that didn't require too much dressing up. Jesse smiled as she slipped out of her clothing and into the dress, giving a little twirl in front of the mirror to see how it looked. She grabbed a pair of black flats and slipped them on her feet before grabbing the hairbrush. Jesse ran the brush through her long, black hair to free it from any tangles and style it into a messy bun. Some strands fell out of the bun, but it only completed the look.
Jesse stepped out of her room, closing the door behind her, and twirling for her friends. "Jesse, you look amazing!" Olivia gushed. Petra nodded in approval. "Hmph. She is pretty, but Lukas still doesn't deserve to even be close to her," Axel grumpily muttered. Jesse laughed and merely shrugged off Axel's comment. Barely a moment later, the four friends heard a knock at the door. Jesse smiled and ran over to the door, waving and casting a 'goodbye' over her shoulder. She opened the door, meeting the blue gaze of the blond.
"Shall we go, M'Lady?"
