Part 5

[Foxy's POV: Later]

"Why don't you take a break, Foxy? I got a new hire that needs a bit of practice," The owner says, walking up to me with a person. I take a look at this person and I'm a bit shocked to see a pair of wings on his back. I stretch my hand out to the young lad, a welcoming smile making its way onto my face.

"Yarr! Ahoy, laddie! I be Foxy the Pirate Fox! What be yer name?" I say. The lad smiles weakly and shakes my hand.

"Fury," He says. Huh, odd name.

"Aye. Welcome, lad," I say. We nod at each other before I make myself a drink and head back towards Mangle. Mangle's looking down towards the floor, until I approach near. Mangle looks up at me and smiles.

[Mangle's POV]

'Come on! You know he loves you! Just go for it!' My second endoskeleton head says. I sigh in defeat.

"I guess you're right," I say. My endoskeleton head chuckles.

'Oh! Here he comes!' He says. I look up and see Foxy walking towards me. I smile warmly at Foxy as he nears.

"Ahoy, lassie. Ye feelin' better, now?" Foxy says, sitting down in the chair beside me. I feel my gears churn as he sits down beside me. How am I going to ask him? "Something on yer mind, lass?" Foxy says, poking his face in the corner of my peripheral vision, scaring me slightly. I jump in reaction to the unexpected action, even though it wasn't a quick action.

"Yeah. Listen, Foxy," I start. I feel my gears tighten in nervousness, almost causing me to choke on nothing. "I, uh. I have something I have been wanting to ask you," I say, forcing out a few words.

"Oh! Really? I, uh, I have been as well," Foxy says, suddenly sounding nervous. My cheeks heat up as many possibilities come to mind, the most prominent one being that he's going to ask me.

"Go ahead," I say, waving him to continue. Foxy shakes his head slowly.

"No. Ye go ahead, lass. Ye started," Foxy says. I gulp nervously before taking a deep breath.

"Okay. Foxy? Will you, uhm. Would you like to go out with me?" I say, almost letting my tongue slip from the sentence. I see Foxy smile out of the corner of my eye.

"Aye. The real question here is, Mangle? Will ye be me lass?" Foxy says. I feel my gears tighten and my cheeks heat up. Why does he sound so cute right now? It's his accent. It must be his accent that's making him sound cute. I smile, feeling tears form behind my eyes. I hug him tightly, not wanting to let go.

"Yes," Is all I can say. I feel Foxy hug me back and it feels like we've been sitting there for an eternity, and I wouldn't mind it one bit if we have. This is my safe haven, here in Foxy's arms. Foxy breaks the hug after a while. I cuddle into Foxy's side as he wraps his arm around me. I rest my head on Foxy's shoulder and he rests his chin on my head.

"Lass?" Foxy says, the vibration of his voice box vibrating my ear, sending a shiver coursing through my wires.

"Yeah, Foxy?" I say, not wanting to move.

"Ye don't have to tell me, but why were ye crying?" Foxy says. I freeze momentarily. I trust Foxy enough. I sigh lightly before speaking up.

"It was Fred. He asked me out. I know, that doesn't sound that bad, but he asked me, even though he knows I hate him. He knows I hate him, and yet he still asked me out," I say. I almost feel like crying, but being wrapped in Foxy's arms is calming me down enough to keep from crying.

"Aye. It be alright now, lass. Ye got me," Foxy says. I smile warmly and snuggle further into Foxy's form.

"I know I do," I say. We sit there for a bit. I don't know how long it was, but I feel myself being nudged awake. Wait, awake? I fell asleep?

"Lass," Foxy says. I finally open my eyes fully and look at Foxy. "It's almost six for me, so I best be going," Foxy says. It takes a bit to register what he said. It's almost six? I jump up and pull up the mental clock installed in me and see it's almost six for my pizzeria as well.

"Oh! Thank you, Foxy! I guess I'll see you whenever?" I say, knowing tomorrow is our guard's second night.

"Aye. I be seein' ye another time, lass," Foxy says. I quickly hug Foxy and run out the back door, Foxy following. Foxy and I turn away from each other as he walks on forewords while I run to the road out front and head straight for my door. I quietly enter Kid's Cove and, as soon as I take my usual place, Fred walks in, a little upset.

"Thanks a lot for helping out with the night guard, Mangle," Fred spits before exiting the room. I scoff lightly before letting my servos switch to performance mode.
