Chapter 2: Deal

Scrolling through the news, Felix couldn't help but smile at the predicament of his ex-girlfriend's tantrum. "I knew she wouldn't last that long without attention," he said to himself as he read all the headlines. He grinned at the failure of the slag, right after he broke up with her, she immediately ran to the next man on her list. As glad as he was that Lila's out of his sight, it didn't cross his mind that she would be going after Adrien.

One thing that he hates about his relationships, is that women would love to use his status for their own. He never really had any romantic feelings for her, but always thought of her as a charm that would keep the other gold diggers at bay. Who better to choose than a very boastful woman who would love to flaunt every catch she got?

They were only a month into their relationship, and that would be her longest one ever, when he decided to break up with her, no longer taking any of her insolent talk. But now that she's no longer going after him, he could finally get back at her. She already ruined dozens of careers and relationships, but how can he make her career miserable for at least a year? Looking back at the headlines, a mischievous grin formed on his face. He looked at the time and got up getting ready for his next meeting.

...

"Can you give me another one?" Marinette told the bartender. The old man looked at her again and poured her another glass of Barcadi. She chugged it down her throat trying to forget about what he had said earlier and what she had down. She looked at the glass with a blank expression as tears streamed down her face.

"Give me the same," someone said next to her. She turned to see the familiar blond hair. This made her glare at it, attempting to hit that person only to have her hand grabbed stopping her actions. The man turned to her with an amused expression on his face. She glared at him more when she saw the evil glint pass through his green eyes.

"Why the fuck are you here, Felix?" she hissed at him. He lets go of her hand as he rested his head on his arm that was propped on the counter. "The same thing as you, my dear," he replied with a mocking grin. She turned from him to take another drink and slammed it in the counter.

"Bullshit, don't tell me you actually like that slut?" she asked in disbelief. He raised his eyebrows in amusement as he took the glass and brought it to his lips and takes a sip from it, keeping his eyes on her. "I feel offended that that thought even crossed your mind, and correction we broke up a week ago, so she was actually single when she got with Adrien," he said in exasperation.

"What's your fucking hidden agenda?" she asked suspiciously. He leaned back on his seat and took a sip from his drink. "What hidden agenda? Like I said I'm here for the same reason as you. To have a peaceful drink away from the paparazzi, but nowhere near home," he replied smoothly.

Marinette scoffed at him asking for another drink. "So you just happen to stumble to this bar that's close to my home that is not littered with people who care about famous people and I just so happened to be here," she commented. He gulped down his drink and asked for one more. "If that's what you think why I'm here then yes," he replied as the bartender poured him another one.

"Why don't you just piss off and leave me be, dickhead!" she hissed at him. He simply chuckled as he took a shot. "Never took you as the type to swear when you're drunk," he replied cockily as he ordered for another one.

She turned away from him while she finished her drink, and paid for the drinks she asked for, leaving a tip for the bartender. This made him quickly finish his drink and repeated the process, before he rushed out to catch up with her.

Putting her coat back on, she began to walk back to her house which was a block away. "Are you going home already?" Felix called as he left. She turned her head to look at him and shrugged. "Why not? Unlike you asshole, I'm done drinking. I would be needing a sober mind if the press is going to bother me with their questions tomorrow," she replied. He leaned against his car and reasoned, "Come on, the night is still young. I'm sure you'd want to forget about him for a while. Isn't that what alcohol is for?"

She turned and approached him crossing her arms over her chest. "Are you trying to get me drunk so that you could drag me into one of your escapades?" she asked suspiciously. "Me, never?" he feigned innocence, placing a hand over his chest.

The two had a stare down waiting for one to back down. She groaned and mumbled to herself, "What the hell am I thinking?" She dragged herself towards his car and forcefully opened the door and got it. He grinned as he entered and began to start the car.

"Where are we going?" she asked wanting to know before hand.

"What are Adrien's spots that you would miss to go to?" he asked.

"His what?"

"The places he introduced you to that you'd like to avoid now because it's his territory. Like he'd try to avoid going to the best bakery in Paris knowing that that's your zone and not to mention he's going to get killed if your parents even get a whiff of him."

This slightly confused her as she tried to process what he said in her drowsy state. She tried to recall the places that Adrien loved to go to that she would want to avoid. She placed her head on her hand and leaned on the glass.

"Why not the movie theater?" she replied. "Any reason?" he asked trying to consider it. "I guess it was because it was the first place that we went to alone on our own accord," she answered as she shook her head remembering the time with Gorzilla.

He hummed and pondered on the suggestion. "I guess so, but it's too public. We don't want to start a commotion unlike someone else," he pointed out as he continued to drive with no direction.

She sighed as she tried to think again. It finally clicked when she saw the lights from the Notre Dame Cathedral. This made her remember all of their midnight rendezvous on the rooftop, where Chat had brought both Marinette and Ladybug for a romantic get-together. She's definitely going to miss that rooftop, it had a very beautiful view of the Seine and the boats that passed.

"Make a turn here," Marinette instructed to the driver. Felix nodded and made a right turn while she hid the details of where they were going. The contrived until they came to a building that had an amazing view of the cathedral in front. He parked in front of it as she hesitantly got out.

"Do you really go here? It looks like a residential area," he commented as they got out. "Come on, you said you wanted to go to one of that little shit's zones. This is not exactly the way we take, but I remember a route that we take when we're, um, when we're not meeting up," she told him as she began to go to the side of the building.

He was slightly befuddled at her words, but continued to follow her. They arrived at the alley between the two buildings as she continued to walk towards the emergency staircase that the residents might use in case of a fire.

Marinette jumped to reach the ladder, but failed after a few attempts. Felix grabbed her before she could take another jump. This surprised her in her tipsy state making her trip a little. "Stop, I'll get it. I don't want you to slip because you're drunk," he told her placing her back on her feet.

She groaned in protest, but stopped and backed away. He looked at the ladder and with one jump he was able to grab it, thanks to his height and leg strength. He stepped off and made a mock bow towards her.

"Ladies first," he said implying for her to go first. She complied and began to lead the way to the terrace. Felix filtered behind trying not to make too much noise, so to not attract unwanted attention, and not to disturb the people in the complex.

Arriving on the sundeck, Marinette was struck by the overflowing emotions she felt, remembering all the moments they spent here. She animatedly made her way to the railing, leaning on it as she tried to fight back tears.

All those romantic adventures were forgotten after all those years. She took out from her bag a bottle of tequila she had down from the bar and began drinking the contents to forget about this place ever being special.

Felix leaned his back against the railing while his arms held on it. He looked up at the starry night sky and felt immense amusement at his cousin's ability to find this place. This place sure has a great view of the night sky, and the river Seine, with a consolation of the Notre Dame.

He turned his head slightly towards Marinette to find her drinking again. "I thought you said you were done drinking," he commented, throwing back her words at her. "You said that the night was young," she repeated his words.

"I didn't say we were going to drink again, you said it to yourself."

"You implied, or thought, saying that 'the night is still young,'" she quoted him as she made air quotation marks. He chuckled as he turned to face the railing and reached for the bottle. "If you're going to drink might as well share it," he said as Marinette tried to keep it from his reach.

"No way, it took me a long time to snatch this from the bar and I'm not sharing," she told him. "I never took you as the type who'd steal," he commented. "I have some experience," she replied as she tried to distance it from him. But thanks to his longer arm span, he successfully took the drink from her hand without much effort.

He brought it to his lips and let the strong taste pollute his sense. The two continued to share the bottle, going back and forth with it, along with insults thrown at each other in their hammered state.

"Alright, now why was I here again?" Felix asked after his tenth gulp. Marinette took the bottle back and said in her drunken stupor, "How the hell am I supposed to know?" He placed a hand on his head and closed his eyes, as he looked up at the stars and smiled.

"I got it," he began as he opened his eyes. He leaned on his right side and faced the girl while making exaggerated hand movements. "I want to include you in my devious escapades," he said as he snapped his fingers.

This made her snort as she rolled her eyes at him, and began to take another drink from the bottle. "Just tell me what that incredibly shitty plan of yours is," she said not really caring what he has to say.

"Excuse me, my plans are absolutely full proof," he said in an offended tone.

"Of course they are," she replied sarcastically as she took another swig.

Felix grabbed the bottle from her after she took a sip, and gulped down his share. She took the bottle from him and whacked him lightly with it. "And why in the world should I trust you?" she asked with suspicion.

This silenced him as a guilty look contorted on his face. He leaned against the railing as he placed his head on top of his knuckles. He rarely felt guilty about his misdeeds, and if he showed that he was, it was usually for manipulation. But this woman beside him somehow made him feel that way. He couldn't point out why. He tried to relax his features and returned to his charming negotiating self.

He angles his body towards her as he pointed a drunken finger at her. "You want revenge on your ex-fiance, right?" he asked. She snorted in disagreement and said, "I don't want revenge."

"Alright, then you want retribution."

"Changing the word will not change my mind, Felix."

"Come on, I've got a plan. A very good one at that."

"All your plans are good, they're just horribly terrifying."

"If you think I'm going to can on the media, I've got something classier in store."

"Why do you even want to get back at Lila?"

This got him silent as he looked over the quiet city. He took another drink from the bottle and threw it at her, luckily she caught it.

"Let's just say that I want her to get a taste of a bitter medicine that she gives," he replied as Marinette took another shot. "You think I want to do the same to that bastard?" she asked as she touched her earrings.

Felix scoffed at her and gave out an obnoxious laugh. "What? You're taking his ridiculous advice of taking the high road. Isn't that what brought is here in the first place?" he asked her as he continued to laugh.

But when he looked at her, he immediately stopped. Tears began to drop, probably recalling all of their golden years together. He sighed as he looked at his watch and noticed that it was close to midnight.

"It's late," he commented while she silently cried. "You wanna go home?" he asked as she nodded slowly. "Alright," he replied as he took her hand and guided her down the steps.

They were silent when they approached the car. Felix opened the door as she got in. He got in as well and began to drive back to her house.

When they arrived Marinette was half asleep and lazy to get up. "Marinette, we're here now. You've got to get up," Felix told her. She groaned and rolled towards the door with her back facing him. "No," she lazily said. He sighed as he unbuckled his seatbelt and got out.

He opened the door to pick her up, but he paused and thought of something else. He quickly fixed his hair and ruffled up his suit. He knelt down in front of her and took her hand in his.

"Marinette, my lady? We're home. You have to get up now, we still have a long night ahead of us," Felix imitated Adrien. He noticed how she stir a little bit. He was proud that he was able to nail another one of his Adrien impressions after that one night the pair went over his place for vacation. He gagged every time they were lovey dovey in front of him. But it seems like being forced to watch them had some perks. He stood up then poked her forehead before shaking her shoulder just slightly.

"Marinette, Marinette? Mon Ange, we're home," he gently spoke as she finally awoken. Her unfocused eyes made their way to him as she started crying again

"Adrien? Is that you?" she murmured in her sleepiness. He was about to say sike, when she hurled herself into his arms.

"Oh Adrien! I had the worst nightmare. Please don't leave me, please don't leave me," she cried out into his shoulder. He felt pity towards her now knowing his joke went too far. He quickly rearranged his hair again, pulling her back.

"Marinette, it's me, Felix," he reminded her. She was awake this time when she noticed it as well. Her eyebrows furrowed into a scowl as her once crying hiccups quickly turned into pacing huffs of breath. She raised her hand and slapped his face.

"Don't do that again! Why would you do that at all?" she angrily shouted at him, clearly heartbroken by his prank.

"This is why I can't work with you. You look exactly like him, and here you are parading around me as him just to break my heart over and over again," she tearfully scolded then walked away as she could feel her anger boiling inside.

"I'll be back for your answer tomorrow," he reminded her once he recovered from her actions and words.

"Piss off!" she answered him in anger and disappointment. He guessed he did deserve that. Note to self, never play around as Adrien in front of Marinette if he wanted to remain on her good side.
