I Look Pretty Good for a Dead Bitch (3)
Your POV
I opened my eyes to see a way too white, clean, and boring hospital room. I groaned as I slowly started to sit up. I looked around and observed my surroundings. It's a habit. Back off, I know if Eraserhead was here, he'd be laughing at me. So, back off Eraser. Nothing in the room was too fancy to be honest. The doors to the room opened to reveal a short, green haired, green eyed lady. "Ah. Mr. Y/N Akiro. You're awake!" she exclaimed. I nodded softly. "I'm your nurse, Inko Midoriya." she told me with a kind smile while grabbing a clipboard.
"Nice to meet you Ms. Midoryia." I say quietly, being respectful, despite Eraser telling me I don't know how to respect anyone. She flashes me a nice, warm, motherly like smile. One I wish my own mom would have spared for me. "I'm just going to check your vitals." she informed me, still wearing that soft, warm, welcoming smile. "I wasn't in some long ass-" I started but got cut off by a small smack. "OW!" I screeched. "No cursing." she scolded, a firm look on her face. I put my hands up in defeat, earning a semi-proud look on her face.
"I wasn't in some coma. Right?" I asked, avoiding any profanity in my words. "No. Just 12ish hours." she answered simply. I nodded until something clicked in my head. "My wings." I murmured, reaching towards my back, only for Ms. Midoriya to swat them away. "They will heal back to normal." she told me with a sympathetic tone in her voice. I nodded and spoke up. "What's the damage?" I asked her.
"Other than bruises and some cuts, nothing really. A couple bones in your wings were just about shattered, the other was shot." she explained. "They will look a little weird since some of your feathers fell off. But they should stay bandaged like they are for a couple days." she added. I nodded and sighed. "You should be having some visitors soon." she informed me softly. I only nodded in response, not truly having any real energy to respond. I don't even know who all would want to see me anyways.
"This may be out of place for me to ask but, when we were trying to find any emergency contacts, we couldn't find anyone. Why?" she questioned me quietly while writing some things down on her clipboard. "I don't have any." I said bluntly, not really feeling like telling this complete stranger my whole angsty 'backstory'. Despite her giving off this feeling that made me want to open up, but I didn't. I couldn't. She seemed to have gotten the hint that I just didn't want to talk about it and decided to drop it. Either way, it wasn't a big deal. Plenty of people didn't have emergency contacts. Nothing out of the ordinary. Especially not for underground heroes. Most tend not to have any or at least on. Just easier that way.
Ms. Midoriya kept checking up on me, when she was interrupted by two people bursting through the door to the room. "Y/N!" I heard my ex teacher, now co-worker exclaim before practically jumping to my side. "Don't scare me like that!" the seafoam green haired woman who grew to being like a mom like friend scolded while lightly punching my shoulder. "Tell that to the dumbasses-" I started but got quickly cut off by both Emi, or as others know her, Ms. Joke, and Ms. Midoriya. "Stop cursing!" they both screeched. I just laughed them both off.
"They both have a point, kid. You should work on that cursing habit." another voice spoke up. Only then did I notice the red winged, blonde haired, honey eyed, cocky hero himself.
"Phoenix!" I exclaimed in fake excitement.
Both girls in the room giggles yet had this look of disappointment all at the same time. Phoenix just pouted as his wings drooped slightly. "Y/n. That's Hawks." Emi said softly. "Okay. With those red wings, I don't think so." I retorted which Emi sighed while Ms. Midoriya laughed lightly. "Hawks. The Number 3 hero." she explained further.
A look of pure confusion, terror, and a hint of 'OH SHIT!' type of face from that one meme, accompanied my freckled face. "Damn. He's pretty clumsy for the the number 3 hero." I remarked. Hawks started pouting even more as Emi suppressed a giggle from escaping her lips.
"You're one rude kid." the other winger male pointed out, putting on a joking face with that stupid grin. No shit. "One, I'm 19. Not a kid. Two, it's called telling the harsh truth. You are the one who flew into me, causing me to crash like I did." I told him bluntly, not realizing how truly harsh I'm being until his face drops. Emi elbows me softly. His joking face twisted into one of... pity?
"Don't pity me you fucking bastard." I muttered under my breath. "Y/n. Stop." Emi whispered. "Tch." I clicked my tongue. "I'm truly sorry." he apologized. "Well damn." I whispered, earning a soft smack from Emi. "Damn woman! I get it!" I said quickly. "Listen old man." I start. "Old man?" he questioned. "If you keep calling me kid, then you're old man." I explained quickly. "Next time, don't hit so hard. Yeah?" I told him. "Otherwise, Imma just go and kindly ask that villain to go bang bang." I said, faking a finger gun to my head. "You need help." a new, scruffy voice said while walling in.
"Eraserdaddy!" I shouted. He groaned and glared. "Let the poor bird off the hook." he said lowly. "Yeah yeah. Get me out of this place. PleasE?!" I said, desperate. "No offense Ms. Midoriya." I said quickly. "None taken." she replied. "You're Eraserhead, right?" she asked. "Yes." he replied shortly. "Sorry, it's just, my daughter is a huge fan of you." she said softly. "Eraser! You have fans!" Emi teased him. "Man. Bet birdie over here knows what that's like." I joked, gesturing towards Hawks.
"She's a fan of all heroes!" she exclaimed, a feint look of happiness on her face. "How old is she?" I asked her softly. "She's about 12." she answered. "She's actually here at the hospital." Ms. Midoriya said softly. "I'd love to meet her! I love meeting fans. If you're okay with that of course." Hawks said with a smile. Ms. Midoriya nodded quickly. "But I need to finish checking up on you Mr. Akiro." she told me. "Please. Call me Y/n." I told her, not wanting to in anyway be tied back to my family.
"What about me?" Hawks said with a sly smirk. "Just don't call me anything." I said with a glare. "Kid it is." he shrugged. I growled lightly. "Alright. All done. If you four don't mind, may I go get her to meet you four?" she asked politely. "Of course!" Emi exclaimed happily. Ms. Midoriya nodded and left the room. Four? But there are three heroes. Technically four. But why would someone want to meet me? Weird.
"How do those bandages feel?" Hawks said, trying to break the silence. "Itchy. My wings itch, a lot." I complained. "Don't go and die then." Eraser grunted. "But, I look pretty good for a dead bitch, huh?" I said with a cocky grin. Hawks snorted with Eraser shaking his head in disappointment, Emi glaring at me in disapproval of my choice of words. "Listen, Raven. I really am sorry for bumping into you." Hawks apologized. "Just- I-... You are what... a really 'fast hero' right? Just maybe slow down? Yeah? Being the fastest isn't always the best." I told him, struggling to find what to say. He slapped on his cocky grin and nodded. "But then who would be?" he asked in a cocky tone.
"You wouldn't be a bird trying to copy Ingenium's speed." I remarked. "I'm faster than him." he said, doubting me. "And I'm faster than you." I retort back. "Ladies, ladies. You're both pretty. Are we done yet?" Aizawa remarked. Hawks shifted uncomfortably and slouched slightly. Weird.
"Why am I seeing a patient, mom?" someone asked after Ms. Midoriya opened the door. Then Ms. Midoriya and a shorter black haired girl walked out. She had black hair that went to her shoulders, that had a feint green tint at the end. She had freckles dusted across her cheeks, but eight were most prominent. Four on each cheek in a diamond pattern. She had deep forest green eyes. She was about 5'2. "Those are heroes." she muttered softly.
"Those are pro heroes!" she squealed.
Oh dear.
What have I gotten myself into....
