Narrator pov
Saga panted as he realized what he had done. He had killed Pope Shion and had attempted to kill the twin girls who were the reincarnations of Athena. He had branded Aiolos as a traitor. Mu had left for Jamir. What had he done?
" Indeed. What have you done?" Saga spun around. He saw a teenage boy with brown hair and red eyes.
"Who are you?"
" Pegasus. A saint who is known as God slayer. I've protected Athena since the age of myth. My last incarnation I used the name Tenma."
" Are you here to kill me?"
" Not quite. I'm here to offer you a deal. I have always been reborn before a holy war. This time I will choose to be reborn in the sanctuary."
" Why choose here?"
" One Athena is still here correct? I'll protect her. Also. To keep an eye on you. You will now act as pope. Behave as such. I will be a defenseless child. Easily persuaded. You could raise me to defend sanctuary. How about it?" Saga nodded.
" Good. Now three conditions. First Dohko must not be told about this. Second you must name the baby Athena, Alexandra and I will take the name Seiya and Alex will not wear the mask. And last we will be placed under the guidance of the remaining gold saints. Deal?"
" Of course."
" Good."

This was only the beginning.

Two years later
The gold saints, minus Shura who was still in his temple and Camus who was off training, were watching the toddler girl and boy. Though the toddler Athena was easy to to handle, Seiya, on the other hand, wasn't easy. The young girl was Athena but had been given the name Alexandra or Alex. She was currently siting in Shaka's lap comfortably. The gold saints were often amazed how these two children could get Shaka, of all saints, to smile and be like a regular human being.

It had been two years since the pope presented these two children to the gold saints. And told them that both children were under their guidance.

Flashback
The pope had called the gold saints for a meeting. Mu had refused to attend saying he needed to stay in Jamir. Dohko hadn't come either but that was to be expected. And of course Aiolos wasn't there.
" As you all are aware this time Athena chose to be reincarnated in two children rather then one. We rescued one of the children. The other was taken away." The infant girl was in a crib in the room the saints were in. But so was a baby boy. The pope explained everything about Pegasus and that they were to watch over both infants from now on. They were also to train the young boy who was named Seiya.

At first the saints were not to pleased with this. But both children quickly grew on them.
End of flashback

Just thinking about Mu upset Shaka. This didn't go unnoticed by the toddler Alexandra. She put a hand over Shaka's hand. He looked down at her. She was smiling at him. He smiled back at her.
" Shaka sad?" He smiled gently at her.
" I'm fine little flower." Alex frowned. Even at only two the child was wise beyond her years. The other saints watched with amusement but also concern.

They had never found out what happened but they knew Shaka and Mu had gotten into a argument which wasn't normal for the two. The only one who seemed to know was Camus and he refused to say anything.

Just then Seiya walked over and handed Alex a flower.
" For you." Alex giggled and grabbed it.
" Pretty." Just then Shura came out. The gold saints tensed up. Seiya went over. The little kid hugged Shura and spoke. Before the others could stop him Seiya had Shura smiling slightly. Alex giggled and then yawned sleepily. The saints chuckled when they saw her snuggle further into Shaka and fall asleep. They had become very fond of their goddess reincarnated.

Five years later
Alex and Seiya were now seven. They had progressed wonderfully in their training. Seiya had even become the Pegasus saint. Not that it was a surprise. A young boy named Hyoga had been taken under the wing of Camus and Camus' disciple, Crystal. He had quickly become friends with Alex and Seiya. Recently different saints had been sent Japanese children to train. The pope and the gold saints had decided to hold a conference, if you will, for all saints and their trainees. Shaka and Camus had given Seiya a mission. To approach these Japanese potential saints and get to know them. Alex had snuck out with Seiya and Hyoga.

On the other part of town Shun, one of the Japanese boys, was lost. He had been separated from his master. He ran into a group of three kids.
" Ouch."
" Are you okay?" Shun looked up to see a violet haired girl. He was shocked. She looked exactly like someone he knew. But it couldn't be Saori-san. Shun shook it off and took her hand pulling himself up.
" I'm fine. Thanks."
" No problem. Oh. I'm Alex. This is Seiya and Hyoga."
"I'm Shun."
" Shun?" Hyoga said. They both looked shocked. Seiya spoke up.
" You know each other?"
" Yeah. For a bit we were in the same orphanage." Alex smiled. Seiya grinned.
" No way! Are you a saint in training?"
" Yeah. I'm supposed to be the Andromeda saint."
" Sweet." Shun looked at Alex.
" Are you a saint in training?" Alex rubbed the back of her neck. A habit she had picked up from her older brothers, the gold saints.
" Not quite." Before Shun could ask they heard a voice three of them were all too familiar with. 
" Alexandra!" Alex squeaked and hid behind Hyoga and Seiya as Camus came up very angry.
" I can still see you." Alex poked her head out.
" Oh. Hey Camus."
" Don't you hey me young lady. I'm gonna kill Deathmask and Milo for not keeping an eye on you two." Alex ran to Camus and hugged him.
" I'm sorry."
" You better be." Camus said with a wry smile. He patted her head. Camus noticed Shun.
" You must be Shun."
" Yes sir."
" Daidalos was searching for you. Come. I'll take you back. Hyuga it's time you go to Crystal."
" Yes master." Seiya spoke up.
"Hey Camus. I did that thing you asked." Alex went over to Shun.
" He's Aquarius Camus. One of the gold saints."
" Really?"
" Yep."

The four children followed Camus and found Crystal and Daidalos waiting by a tavern. As were Deathmask and Milo. The minute the two gold saints saw Seiya and Alex they growled.
" Brat. Where have you been?!"
" Sorry Masky. I wanted to have fun." Seiya and Deathmask began arguing. Crystal and Daidalos meanwhile noticed the girl by Camus. They immediately dropped to one knee and bowed.
" Athena." Alex smiled gently.
" Hello again." Shun was shocked.
" You're Athena?"
" Yeah. It's fine Shun. Honestly I hate all that formality."
" Maybe because you were raised by us." Milo muttered.
" Says the gold saint who lost Pegasus and Athena."
" We did not loose you. You two snuck away."
" Milo. Are you arguing with me?"
" No."
" Yes." Seiya and Hyoga said. Alex giggled.
" We should really be going Alex. Before Shaka and Aiolia and Shura realize you two are missing." Camus said. Alex nodded.
" Come on Seiya. See ya Hyoga. It was nice meeting you Shun. Bye."

Shaka and Aiolia were working on paperwork in Shaka's office. Alex came in and went over to Shaka. She got up into his lap. He chuckled and continued to work.
" Where have you been little miss?" Aiolia asked.
" Watching Seiya and Hyuga train. It was fun."
" Does that mean Camus was with you all?"
" No. He just got back. Milo and Deathmask were with us." Both saints winced at that. Milo and Deathmask were easily two of the more temperamental saints and not exactly role models.
" Alright. Come on little flower." Shaka said causing Alex to giggle. Just then a messenger from the pope came rushing in.
"Lord Shaka. The pope would like to see you and Lady Athena." Alex sighed and fought the urge to roll her eyes. Though she had a name most saints refused to use it.

The two entered the pope's chamber. Shaka stayed back while Alex went to go find Saga. She found him sitting at his desk with his hands on either side of his head. She sighed and went over. The seven year old girl already knew more than anyone.
" Saga." The imposter pope looked up.
" Alex." Alex looked up to all the gold saints but saw Saga as a father rather than brother.
" You asked for us."
" Yes. I'm going to tell you this first. I would like you to accompany Shaka to Jamir."
" Jamir......wait. You don't mean....."
" Yes. I need Shaka to deliver something to him and if you go Shaka is more likely to keep calm." Alex remembered when she was four Shaka had come back bruised and bleeding which had frightened the four year old.

Flashback
Alex was in the Aquarius temple with Camus. She was attempting to read. Camus couldn't help but chuckle at the determined look on the four year old. Suddenly she snapped her head up, sensing something. She ran out and Camus quickly followed her.

She headed straight for the Virgo temple. She ran past Shura and then Milo as they were in their temples. They were shocked to see the girl running and pale. Camus was running after her.

When they reached the Virgo temple they saw Shaka there covered in bruises and blood. Alex immediately ran over and hugged the injured man. He patted her head. Camus came over and got Shaka to sit down. He began bandaging the wounds but Shaka refused to let him heal them. After everything was done Alex forced Shaka to lay in his bed. She curled up against him to make sure he rested. They both fell asleep.
End of flashback

Alex had later come to learn that Shaka had been visiting the Aries saint, Mu in Jamir.

Alex looked at Saga.
" You're certain?"
" I am."
" Then I will assist Shaka as well as I can." Saga smiled underneath his mask and nodded.

After Saga told Shaka and gave him the letter to deliver, Shaka went back to his temple with Alex. The two prepared to leave.

Two days later
The two arrived in Jamir. They quickly went to where Mu was. Once they arrived Mu came out with his arms crossed. Ever since that incident years ago Shaka and Mu had not been on the best of terms.
" Shaka. To what do I owe this visit?"
" It's not by my doing. The pope sent me." Mu stiffened.
" What does the imposter want?"
" Can we come in first?" Mu sighed.
" Come in." Alex stayed by Shaka and used one hand to hold onto his tunic. Mu noticed the way the child was acting. He sighed and went over to her.
" Don't be scared. I won't hurt you or Shaka." The girl looked at Mu then spoke.
" You're Aries Mu?"
" I am."
" It's nice to finally meet the Aries saint." Mu was shocked. Just who was this child?
" I'm called Alexandra or Alex. But officially my name is Athena." Mu was even more shocked. This child was Athena. He knew that Athena had chosen to be born in two children but he was not aware that one had survived. Mu immediately dropped to one knee and bowed.
" Stand Aries Mu. I never wish for anything but friendliness between myself and saints." He stood and watched the child. She looked at him.
" Let us go in. Then you may ask what it is you wish to ask."

They went in. Mu spoke to Alex.
" How can you side with that murder?" Shaka tensed but Alex stopped him.
" It is true Saga killed Shion. However he has changed and tried to get rid of the evil in him."
" But Lady Athena......"
" Please just call me Alex. All the other gold saints do. And a few bronze saints in training." Mu was even more shocked. Shaka smiled and put a hand on her head. The two followed Mu further inside.
