I woke up the next day when there were two men in all black at the door.
"Mom? Who's at the door?"I yelled down the hall
"Oh god. No. Daniel go hide now!"
I ran into the basement and hid in the trap room. I heard my mom open the door.
"Is she here?"One of them asked.
"No. We got rid of here like we agreed."
I was shaking with fear. Who were these men? Who were they talking about?
"May we inspect?"
"Oh. Er. Sure. The house a mess."
"We don't care. We need to make sure the girls not here."
"Oh. Ok..."
I heard footsteps and then my mom answer
"No."
She then started screaming and they left the house. I waited until their car left and I ran upstairs. There was blood on the floor and I saw my mother laying there.
"Oh my god." I could only just stare. Her arm was broken defiantly. It was bleeding from someone stabbing her.
I called 911 and ignored school.
"911 what's your emergency?"
"My mother has been stabbed by some men."I rushed.
"Address?"
"476 Shaler Ave"
"We are sending some one down"
They hung up and I grabbed a towel from the closet and started to put pressure on the wound. She was muttering something. I couldn't make anything out.
"Mom, I'm right here. It's ok."
Just more muttering. I was scared and couldn't focus. When the ambulance came everything went all blurry.

I woke up in a hospital bed. I looked for my mom. I sighed with relief. She was in the same room as I was. She had a cast on the arm and bloody bandages on her wound. I relaxed and checked my phone. 20 messages from Amelia. How long was I here? Only a day...My eye was uncovered and I panicked. Where is the eye patch?! It was laying on the medical table. I grabbed diet and put it on. I got up and fell at first but got back up. My mom's papers said...

-broken arm
-stab wound
-concussion

I gasped. She has a concussion. I looked at her machine and it was a normal heart beat and everything. I went back into my bed and the doctors came in.
"Oh! You're awake."
"Yeah..."
"Well your mom is going to be in here for a while. Do you have a guardian to take care of you for a while?"
No I thought to myself. My dad died and my grandparents are not here. They are from Europe.
"No. But I could ask my friends mother."
"Ok."
I tested Amelia to come to the hospital with her mother.
She came within 20min.
"So what's up?"
"Well I need someone to take care of me while my mother is here. Should you be able too help?"
"Sure!" Her mother said.
And that's how my life started to change.
