Leaving You Behind

~Three years later~

Luciano heard a loud knock on the door and groaned as he got out of bed in only his boxers. He quickly pulled a pair of pants on before opening the door and slamming it closed again, surprised that Lutz still hadn't woken up to the loudness in his house. The door opened again. "Luci, it's not polite to leave your family waiting on the doorstep." Flavio said, walking into the house without any sort of permission. "When did you start walking around half-naked with other people in the house?" Flavio asked, looking down at Luciano's small frame. "Since I just woke up." Luciano mumbled, walking out to the kitchen and getting himself some coffee. "So why the fuck are you here?" Luciano asked. "Can't I visit my baby brother once in awhile?" Flavio answered with a smirk, leaning against the table as Luciano put the coffee beans in the coffee-maker. "No, you can't." Luciano glared back at him.

"So have you started making out with your boyfriend yet." Flavio stared pointedly at him. "Hell no. Why don't you go back home to your own damn boyfriend before he pisses himself worrying where the fuck you are." Luciano answered sarcastically. "You really think he'd be worried?" Flavio asked, a bit of hope shining in his eyes. "No, I was being sarcastic, shithead." Luciano rolled his eyes. "Wow. Rude much. I wonder how your boyfriend puts up with you?" Romano teased, winking suggestively. "Damnit, he's not my boyfriend. And he doesn't put up with me, I put up with him." Luciano poured himself some coffee, getting some milk from the fridge and mixing that in as well. "Mhm, I'm sure that's not what you said last night." Veneziano kicked his brother in the leg, very hard, and walked back to the table where he almost sulked over his drink.

He saw Lutz sleepily enter the room from the corner of his eyes. He was wearing only a t-shirt and boxers as he usually wore when he had just gotten up. "Speak of the devil." Flavio said. "What are you doing in my house? Again?" Luther answered sleepily. "I'm just checking up with my baby brother. Is that a crime? Really bello, I would have thought you'd caught on by now." Flavio smiled, sitting down at the table next to Italy, only to get kicked once again by his younger brother. "It's probably a crime somewhere to come around so often and just be plain annoying." Germany mumbled. "Well, if it were a federal offense to be as hot as the sun, you'd have been in jail for life." Flavio teased, earning another kick from Veneziano. "Luther just sighed and grabbed some coffee, drinking the stuff without any sort of sweetener. He also grabbed a bagel from one of the shelves before sitting himself down next to Luciano and faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar away from Flavio.

"I guess your boyfriend only has eyes for you. Too bad." Flavio stood up. "He's not my damn-" Luciano started before Luther cut him off with a small kiss making his whole face light up bright red. "I say he is." Flavio answered. "Anyway, I'll see you later!" Flavio yelled back, slamming the front door behind him as he left. They sat in silence for a while before Luciano decided it was about time that he get dressed.

"Hey, where are you going, Luci?" Luther asked. "I'm going to get dressed and you should too. Why?" Luciano answered, looking back. Luther got up and put his arms around Luciano's waist. "You sure you don't want to dress down?" Lutz asked, giving him a small kiss on the cheek before going ahead of him to one of the rooms. Damnit, he needs to stop being so damn smooth, Luciano thought as he followed Luther back down the hall. After he made it back into the room they were now both sharing, Luther greeted him with yet another kiss, leading him back to the bed. "Damnit, Lutz. It's the middle of the damn day." Luciano panted in between kisses. "And?" Luther answered, kissing him again and again.

After a few more minutes, Luciano pushed Luther off him. "Get your damned ass dressed." He grabbed a shirt that hung in the closet and left to get dressed, but not before Luther managed to give him one last kiss and a smack on the ass. Luther picked out a random pair of clothes, all of them being either white, grey, or tan, meaning most of his clothes matched no matter how you put them together. He quickly got dressed and met Italy, who was grooming himself in the bathroom. He looked handsome as usual dressed in a red dress shirt, a black tie, khakis, and dress shoes. He looked casual and formal at the same time. Neither had been planning to do much that day so there was really no need to dress formally.

Luciano looked at him with a little look of confusion. "Why are you staring at me, idiot?" He asked. "Because you look nice. Why wouldn't I stare at a nice looking man that I know is all mine?" He put an arm around his shoulder and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "I don't look that nice, bastard. Why don't you look at someone else? Like perhaps your own sexy self." Luciano pulled him down by his collar and gave him a soft kiss before he left the room, abandoning it for the couch.

The phone started ringing, catching Luther's attention. He hurried through the halls and picked up the phone, watching Luciano from the phone as he picked up a book and started reading it. As he listened, his face fell. He hung up the phone and sat on the couch, cuddling up to Luciano. He'd tell him about the call later. If he didn't forget first.

Luciano liked how Luther knew how to cuddle up to him without getting in his way. Or at least he was able to most of the time. Other times he might just pull him down into a cuddle fest while he was in the middle of cleaning or making dinner, but most of the time he was able to see when was the right time to cuddle and when wasn't. He obviously liked it when the other would show him affection, though he'd likely never say it out loud. He didn't feel he really needed to. Luther could read him like an open book these days no matter how hard he tried to hide something, but Luther almost never asked questions. If it was something Luciano didn't feel like talking about, they wouldn't talk about it. Luther was a lazy bum most of the day, lying around the house just watching Luciano do all the chores or cuddling Veneziano whenever he finally decided to take a break. Luciano was okay with it for the most part though because he had learned that Lutz was a klutz. He was much better at making a mess than cleaning it.

So Luciano let him lay around and be lazy all day, staying silent whenever the couch potato occasionally made comments about his ass. That was Luther's flirting at its finest. It didn't bother Luciano too much (his completely red face and the choking noises he made said otherwise though). He much preferred him to be sitting around and making crude jokes at him than to be running around the house making a mess. But it was at times like these that he was truly able to appreciate him. When he was just showing him true affection and being gentle with him. It was really true bliss. He didn't think he could find feelings like this anywhere else. It actually made him... happy. To be here with Luther having a lazy day, reading a book and embracing this buff German man who he knew, but at the same time didn't know. He was kind of mysterious in a way.

He didn't really talk much about his past until just a few months ago when he opened up to Veneziano about his older brother who was depressed and had a speech impediment. His brother, Gilen, couldn't even form two words at a time. And he found out that Holy Rome had been his brother, although he never met him because he died before the two could meet. And his father, Germania, who had left both Prussia and Germany when they were still pretty young. But he felt lucky to have at least had a father. Most countries don't even get that much. And there were many humans who didn't have fathers either. Apparently he had learned that Germania had killed Romulus and later himself. It was a pretty tragic backstory, but Luther said he was happy to have met his father and to be able to have an older brother that he could take care of like a younger brother. Small things made him happy to be there with the people he loved. And Luciano learned that he got close to people very quickly.

Luther was always one to make friends with anyone, even people he knew would die before him. He made enemies just as much as he made friends, but he had a sort of friendship with the people who he hurt and who hurt him back. Even America, who he was currently in war with, would come and talk with Lutz and they would do the sorts of things that friends would do. He was friends with all his enemies and they were friends with him.

Once a year, the Axis Powers and the Allies would get together and have a party. Even though they were in war with each other, they hung out and talked like all normal friends do. Kuro didn't like the Allies very much, but he would still (hesitantly) converse with them. Luciano had even become good friends with some of them (although he had already been on relatively good terms with England already).

Russia never seemed to speak with anyone, not even his own comrades. China, though would speak sometimes, being rude for the most part or making crude comments. France would converse with them sometimes, saying a lot existentialist crap and sometimes rude or dismissive things. Canada was mostly silent when he wasn't arguing with his brother or being generally annoyed by his brother's presence. America was the one who held up the conversation most of the time. He spoke loudly and made lewd jokes frequently. He told stories, listened to everyone, and commented on what others were saying. He was actually very polite whenever he wasn't taunting Luciano or just pissing him off in general. England was very sweet, offering sweets to everyone (though most refused thinking what America said was true about the things he put in his sweets). He spoke often with Luciano about dark magic and such and would correct America and Canada whenever they said something grammatically incorrect or cursed.

Luciano had become pretty close to some of the Allies countries. He had actually learned from what Luther told him that America had developed a sort of crush on Luciano, but had dropped it as soon as he found out that he was with Germany. He was polite in that way. He'd never overstep anyone's boundaries. After he got over Luciano though, he started hitting on his own brother. Not that Canada was not okay with that, he actually liked America as well, though he'd never give him the satisfaction of knowing that. Russia and Prussia had talked with each other a little bit (or at least to the extent that they could) and mostly stayed silent, sitting next to each other and listening to the others speak.

Luciano peered up from his book (called "A Duty to the Dead" by Charles and Caroline Todd) and looked into Luther's lightly coloured eyes for a few minutes silently. Luther just stared back with a sort of longing and love in those beautiful eyes of his. "It's probably about lunch. Do you want to make something?" Veneziano asked, not really wanting to leave the couch just yet. Lutz gave him a small kiss on the cheek. "Sure, sweetie. What do you want?" He asked, getting up to go make something for his stunningly hot boyfriend. "Pasta is fine." He mumbled, going back to his book. Luciano swallowed before speaking. "So who was it that called earlier?" He asked.

"Just my boss. He asked me to go meet up with the Allies. Apparently, they are making some sort of treaty. What sauce am I supposed to put on the pasta?" Luther mumbled dismissively. Luciano closed his book and got up to help Luther. "A treaty? Is the war over or something?" He asked, handing some tomato sauce to Luther. "Ja. My boss said that it looks like we lost this time." Germany answered. "So is Kuro coming too?" Luciano asked. "No, he isn't. They cleared things up with him already. He got to keep all the shit he stole from China and the islands south of Japan, but it's not likely that us up in Europe will have as much luck. My boss didn't tell me much, but he did mention that we might lose half of Germany." Luther replied casually.

"They are mostly blaming me for everything that happened. Probably since most of them have taken to you and since you weren't participating in the war as much as I was." He continued. "They're not going to... dissolve you? Are they?" Luciano asked without looking at Lutz. "No, they wouldn't dare do something like that. If they dissolved my country it would cause much more chaos than the war already has and it will cause riots. They want to end the chaos not add to it." Luther explained. "I guess they are having everyone go separately to sign the treaty so that Kuro doesn't try to continue the war or start another one. I guess it's easier that way." Luther mused. "So I don't get to go with you either?" Luciano asked with a hint of sadness laced in his voice.

"It'll only be a few days. Plus your brother will likely visit you every day while I'm gone. And I could probably convince Japan to come as well if you want?" Luciano cringed at this. "I don't want to be alone with that creep again. I'd prefer to hang out with my brother." Luciano leaned against the counter. "Are you sure I can't go with you? I don't really want to be alone with my brother either." Luciano asked hopefully. "I'm sure. You'll be fine without me. You act like it would be the end of the world if I left for only a few days."

"It might. You never know. What if they really do kill you though? What if they are taking us in separately so that they can kill us without too much resistance?" Luciano laid his head on Luther's shoulder. Luther smiled and kissed his head. "They wouldn't be able to get through me. And they aren't that mean... Except maybe Russia. I'm on pretty good terms with the others, so they wouldn't want to kill me." Luther answered. "That's what your brother said before France took him down. That weakling killed your own blood after he had told me close to those same words." Luciano narrowed his eyes. "Well, do you want the war to continue until we are so weak that we all have no choice but to become dissolved from bad economy and years of war? Continuing wars for too long is what causes nations to become dissolved. They don't know when to stop and they go on for too long and become weak. The likelihood of being dissolved would only become higher if I didn't go now." Luther persuaded.

"Fine, but you aren't leaving until we have a little bit of fun." Luciano grabbed his collar and kissed him for a solid three minutes, easily slipping his tongue into Luther's mouth. Yes, he had just done that. When they finally seperated, Luther smiled down at him. "How about after we have lunch, I take you somewhere special and then we can have some 'fun' tonight." Luther smirked. Luciano hugged Luther and buried his head in his chest. "Te amo, Luther." Lutz hugged him back.

"Ich leibe dich auch, Luciano."
