{Introduction}

Once upon a time…

          There were two pirates. One’s name was Jack Frost. He was the fighter, the doer, the more fun end of the duo. The other’s name was Hiccup Haddock. He was the navigator, the thinker, the more serious end of the duo. In a lot of ways, they were different… but in a lot of ways, they were also the same. They both thirsted for adventure. They would both strive to no ends to achieve their dreams. And they were both stealthy, swift, and admittedly greedy.

          The two of them were the best of friends. Nothing could tear them apart—for long. Legend said that if you managed to separate them—and even that was against all odds—it wouldn’t be more than three days before they found each other again.

          These two pirates—Jack and Hiccup—went on to be the greatest pirates of their age—the Unstoppable Duo. Why had the San Martinez III been stripped bare at the height of its career? Them. Young kids robbing the Bentley? Them. The warship Erebus? Them. I could go on for pages and pages naming the ships they pirated, but we have a story to tell and neither you nor I have all the time in the world.

          At this very moment, they were working on their biggest mission yet; the pinpoint of their career:

Word had gotten out of a lost island that was supposed to be impossible to find. Stranded on that island were supposed to be the two princesses of the kingdom Dunbrona—Merida, the Brave, and Rapunzel, the Free. The young pirates planned to find these two princesses and hold them ransom for a huge sum of gold. It would be their biggest success yet. Yes, it was dangerous work with small chance of success. So many people before them had tried and failed to find the island, falling into poverty, going insane along the way or simply being killed by rival ships. But it couldn’t have been that much different from robbing a warship, like so many they’d robbed before.

They didn’t believe the legends—that there were superhuman creatures infesting their waters. In all their years sailing the seven seas, they had never once come upon any Sirens, mutant squids, or sea monsters of any sort. They were convinced that they were just myths.

          How very wrong they were.

Dedicated to Sabrina {@FrozenAnna} for being an awesome friend <3
