🌹The Crimson Tyrant: Chapter 7

The two delinquent students fought against Deuce and a few times, had done some underhanded tricks to give themselves the upper hand but fortunately, he had quickly seen through them and was able to counterattack them.

In the end, it was Deuce who reigned victorious against his disrespectful seniors. "M-Maybe you're a little better than I thought..." the silver-haired delinquent said. "The pasta's getting all soggy, so we'll let you off for today!" the red-headed delinquent shouted as they ran off.

Alice took in a deep breath to calm her stressed nerves and ease her breathing. She felt grateful that things hadn't gotten any worse than they already were. "You okay, Alice-chan?" Kira asked, hugging her. Alice nodded. "Yes, I'm alright." she replied.

She was even more grateful that a teacher hadn't stepped in to stop them. Grim peeked over her shoulder and saw the two delinquents running away before he laughed out loud. "Heh! Those guys were all talk! Never show us your ugly mugs again!" Grim taunted.

Kira shot Grim a death glare. "You're the one who caused the ruckus, tuna breath! You're just lucky they didn't knock your teeth out, otherwise you'd be eating food through a straw!" she snapped, making Grim flinch.

"Even though we were just told not to get into any fights.... I'm just so glad it's all over." Alice said with a sigh. "Whatever, let's just eat. I even missed breakfast. If I have to go any longer without food, I might just pass out..." Ace theatrically sighed as he swung his arm around Alice's shoulders and walked over to the buffet.

Alice placed a hand on her grumbling stomach. "Me, too." she said. Having lunch sounds like a great idea right about now. As they were gathering their respective lunches, Deuce stayed behind a bit and stared into the direction the two rough students ran off in.

"We really have no luck. Given this is a prestigious school that's really hard to get into, the last thing I was expecting to come across was such cookie-cutter delinquents." Deuce sighed.

When he came to Night Raven, he thought he'd be finally away from those types of people. He thought he could finally have a better school experience when coming here. But as it seems... delinquents and bullies are everywhere no matter where you go. Always.

Now that the group had gotten their lunches, they sat at the nearest empty table they could find. When they sat down, Ace and Deuce were slightly surprised when Alice presented them each with a chocolate croissant and an iced latte.

Alice just smiled at them and softly mouthed a "thank you" as she turned to their cat monster roommate. "I still can't believe she actually got that chocolate croissant and iced latte for them." Kira whispered to Jazmin as they watched Alice give Ace and Deuce the food items they requested.

"Well, she wanted to thank them for catching Grim, so who are we to judge?" Jazmin replied with a smile. "Even I couldn't thank them enough." Meanwhile, Grim eyed his food hungrily as he spread his little paws wide.

"No point on dealing on the riff-raff! Let's eat!" he said. With a wide smile, he began to stuff his face, gobbling and savoring the rich and delectable flavors of the omelette. Alice smiled at him, giggling in small amusement. She then placed a napkin over her lap and pulled her plate closer.

She daintily picked up her fork and began to eat gracefully and quietly, minding her manners like a proper lady, unlike a certain cat monster. Kira grimaced with disgust as she watched Grim greedily devour his lunch.

"Tch! Not only is he loud-mouthed, but he's also a gluttonous guzzler." she muttered as she watched Grim keep on shoving food into his mouth. "Delicious!" Grim exclaimed joyfully with a mouthful of egg omelette. "The egg of the omelette is so light and fluffy, and the center is filled with such gooey cheese!"

Kira then looked away in disdain. "Jeez..." she scowled. Alice picked up another napkin and cleaned Grim's face. "Please don't talk. It's simply rude to speak with your mouth full." she said.

Grim whined and swatted her hand away as he continued to eat. "So we saw your guys' dorm this morning, but what are the other dorms like?" he asked curiously as Alice took a small bite of her food. She nodded in agreement. "He's right. I am ever so curious about them myself. I-If it's alright for us to ask, that is." she said.

"You know about the statues of the Great Seven displayed on Main Street, right? The seven dorms of this school were made in the fashion of them." a voice suddenly said behind them. The group all blinked in confusion when they heard that familiar voice.

They all turned around and Ace nearly jumped out of his skin when he saw a familiar mop of carrot-orange hair. But... who was this new person standing beside him? "Hey! You're the guy from this morning!" Ace shouted, pointing at Cater. Grim glared at the green-eyed boy furiously.

"You tricked us into painting those roses for you!" he hissed angrily. "Aw, you're so mean~?" Cater replied with a playful pout. "Not like I was doing it because I wanted to. I had no choice but to do it. It's part of the dorm's rules."

"You were grinning all the while...." Deuce said with a sigh and a shake of his head. Cater gave out a good-natured laugh. "Now, now, Deucey~! Those rules are only while we're inside the dorm, so right now, Caycay's just your kind, friendly senior~!" he said playfully.

The four girls tried to stifle their giggles when they heard Cater's nickname for Deuce, but they couldn't help it. Deucey was such a cute and funny nickname for him. Maybe they should save that for later and ask him if they can call him that.

Deuce caught the girls laughing and immediately blushed red, embarrassed. "D-Don't call me Deucey, senpai!" he shouted. At that point, a young green-haired teenage boy who sat next to Cater let out a laugh of his own and smiled at his young juniors. "Haha, that's just how Cater shows affection." he said.

"Hang on, who are you?" Ace asked as he and the others looked up at the new face. He looked to be an upperclassman as well. He had short ivy green hair and mustard-colored eyes.

He had a black club's suit tattoo located under his left eye and wore a pair of thick black spectacles. He wore the standard-issue uniform complete with dark brown loafers. The older teen gave a kind smile as he introduced himself. "Oh, my bad. I'm Trey, Trey Clover. I'm a third year in Heartslabyul like Cater." he said.

He then turned his sights on the girls and offered his hand to Alice. "And you're one of the new first female students put in charge of the ramshack—," Trey paused for a moment to clear his throat. "Excuse me, that dorm that wasn't being used, right?"

Alice gave Trey a small smile as she shook his hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Trey-senpai. My name is Alice Liddell." she said with a polite bow. Trey smiled at her as he took his seat next to Ace.

"And these are my friends, Kira Ironclaw, Aria Oceanspray and Jazmin Raija." Alice said, introducing her female friends. "How do you do?" Aria said politely. "Pleasure to meet you, Trey-san." Jazmin replied sweetly. "Yo! Wassup?" Kira said, grinning.

Trey nodded at them politely in greeting. "I heard from Cater about all the trouble these guys have caused you. Sorry about that." he apologized. "We're literally right here, dude." Ace muttered under his breath as he scooted a bit further away from Trey.

Alice just merely shook her head. "Oh, no, no. They weren't any trouble at all. The whole thing was all our fault, and they were really kind enough to help us." she said with a soft, bashful blush. "It really wasn't, though..." Kira muttered under her breath.

Alice then jumped back when Cater suddenly plopped right next to her as he pulled out his phone from his pocket, smiling expectedly at his juniors. "Come on, we're in the same dorm~!" he said with a jolly tone as he got closer to Alice.

"No point being like this all the time. Let's exchange numbers and get along~!" Ace and Deuce were now glaring at him. Alice's sky-blue eyes lit up at that. That obviously meant that Cater wanted to be one of her new friends! Alice was practically smiling with joy... but then, her eagerness died down when she suddenly remembered a crucial detail.

"Oh, I'm terribly sorry. I would if I could, but... I currently don't have a phone with me." she said, a bit sadly. Cater nearly dropped his phone as he stared at her in utter shock. "Eh? Little Alice-chan, you don't have a phone?! That's crazy! You're like an endangered species!" he shouted in disbelief.

But then, a little coy smile appeared on Cater's lips as he scooted a little closer to the blonde-haired girl. "I know a place to get the newest models for cheap~. How about we go on a date to choose one?" he asked with a playful wink.

"Huh?! A... A date?" Alice asked as she tilted her head a bit, suddenly feeling a little nervous as she leaned away from him. "Whoa! Back off, buster!" Kira suddenly shouted at her green-eyed senior who looked up at her with an "innocent" expression on his face.

Kira stood up abruptly, pulled Alice over to her previous seat and promptly sat in between her and Cater. "Alice is too young to be dating anyone! She's only 15!" she said. Trey couldn't help but let out a laugh as he turned to his fellow senior.

"Cater, you're gonna scare the new girl off. Calm down a bit." he said. Cater laughed. "Ahaha, sorry, sorry~! You were talking about the dorms, yeah?" Cater asked, scooting back a bit with a big smile on his face. "That's a good conversation topic! Makes for a nice change. Let your elders tell you whatever you wanna know."

The four girls' curiosity perked up as they all leaned forward to listen and Alice reached into her school bag to pull out a notebook and pencil, ready to write down every single detail of information.

Though none of them were here for very long, this new world was already incredibly fascinating, and it held so many wonderful, colorful characters the girls have never dreamed they would ever meet. And just by seeing the Heartslabyul dorm made them inquire to know more about the other dorms and the Great Seven that Ace told them about when they first came here.

"Honestly, I want to know about our own dorm first, I won't lie. The heck is up with those crazy "Laws of the Queen of Hearts"?" Ace asked. "You know all about the legendary Queen of Hearts, right? She created a wonderland of madness built on strict adherence to her rules." Trey said.

"Out of respect for the Queen of Hearts, those of us in Heartslabyul Dorm wear red and black armbands, just like her dress, and uphold the laws that she made." Cater added.

"The colors that represent her dress?" Alice asked as she glanced up at the boys' red-and-black armbands. She then looked at her and the other girls' own black-and-white striped ribbons. Hm, so each color of every dorm represents one of the Great Seven. How interesting. Alice smiled softly to herself as she wrote that piece of information down.

However, she began to feel sympathetic for the people of Wonderland and the dorm members due to the severe rules they have to follow, mostly because of the cruel punishment that awaited them if they break just any one of them. "Sounds way too stuffy for me!" Grim remarked.

"How strictly we follow the rules depends on the dorm leader. Last year's was pretty chill about it~." Cater pointed out. "Dorm Leader Riddle's way more serious about this stuff than even some of the most notorious dorm leaders in Heartslabyul's history. He follows those rules as closely as possible." Trey added.

"That would explain why he placed a magic-sealing collar on Ace-kun without much hesitation." Alice mused to herself. Ace let out a groan and slumped down onto the table. "Bleeeh. What a pain..." he groaned.

Though Alice did believe it was quite annoying, she kept quiet as she patted his shoulder sympathetically and turned to her two seniors. "If it's all right to ask, what are the other dorms like?" she asked curiously.

Grim quickly finished his food and climbed up on Alice's shoulder. "So, what about the other dorms?" he asked eagerly.
