Back to Baking
JUST A REAL QUICK AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Hey readers! I'd just like to say that no way in heck was I expecting a sequel that I'm writing for a popular-ish Dandy's World AU fanfic I wrote (about 6 months ago) to reach 1k reads (in less than a month)
SO THANKS GUYS 😊😊😊
And dw (haha see what I did there? Don't worry? Dandy's world? I'm so funny lol hahaha not really 🥲)! I'm not gonna milk my series >:) this is the last unless requested by more than two people! (YOU HEAR ME, DailyIIFanHere and kittystarly ?? I'M NOT MAKING ANOTHER IN THE SERIES JUST CUZ YOU GUYS WANT ME TO >:c even if a few others ask, I need to come up with a stable plot.)
Anyway! I am working on an idea for another Dandy's World fanfic after this one that has nothing to do with the...what, series? It's only two books... but yea! In case you didn't see my post, I'm not saying what it is, just that it's a hatefulhugs fanfic because I'm not a big fan of the ship and I wanna like it more!
So yea :)! Have a great day!
I don't like to bake anymore.
Yea, I said it. The one and only Sprout Seedly (which I'm pretty sure no one even cares who I am anymore) doesn't do baking.
But can you blame me? There wasn't exactly an oven for me to flex my talents with in the chambers we were held in, let alone ingredients to use.
Sure, I loved creating sweet things for people to enjoy, but... there was no use for that during the experiments. Why have a talent that isn't useful in times of need?
But now that I'm back in society, all of a sudden, I'm supposed to like to bake again. Cosmo was currently dragging my a** down to the kitchen in the regular toons floor to make something, since it was time for another one of my anger management classes.
"Come on, Sprout..! Don't you miss baking? We used to do it all the time, you remember! Just you wait, I'm sure you've just been deprived of having fun for too long!"
Well, I certainly had enough fun in bed with you last night.
I shouldn't say that.
"Yea, okay... I guess we can go bake. Not like I have a choice." I rolled my eye as we pulled right up to the counter, Cosmo already zooming around gathering ingredients and supplies.
"Sprout, can you at least try to be helpful?" Cosmo sighed with exasperation, his hands full of packages and containers, a mixing bowl threatening to topple.
I quickly rushed to his aid, catching the bowl right when it fell, using it to catch a spare bag of sugar when that inevitably came down. Cosmo kissed my cheek with appreciation, quickly turning away, blushing.
Oh, so he wants to do that, huh? Alright.
I jokingly rolled my eye this time, smirking. Passing by him to put ingredients in the bowls they're supposed to be in, I "accidentally" bump into him.
"'Scuze me~" Cosmo glanced at me, a playful look of annoyance on his face. [if you can't understand, imagine Dandy's pissed cat face but he's not actually pissed- that's the face he's making rn lol]
We had finally finished baking the cake, a few flirts and teases in between.
It makes me think, though... before the incident with Dandy, me and Cosmo would hang out every day, either baking, going around talking to everyone, the occasional tea party (only cuz Cosmo wanted to...), and everything in between.
He was always there for me when I was frustrated, always helping me when I was feeling down. Because that's just what best friends do...
Right?
I hadn't realized I had created a little Cosmo out of fondant, his little red eye and brown eye looking up at me. I put a little black strip on his face to resemble a smile. There..!
Turning around to show the real Cosmo, I saw that he had already placed a little smiling me on the cake. He turned to me, beaming when he saw me place little him next to little me.
The detail on the fondant me... spiked leaves, stained scarf, scarred chest...
Even my missing eye...
I realized I had been staring at that part for too long. Cosmo tapped on my shoulder. "...Sprouty..?"
I turned to him quickly. "U-uh... yea, Cos?"
"Did you have fun?" He seemed to be a bit hesitant to asking it. Did I scare him..?... probably.
Thinking back to what he had asked...
"....yea, actually. Thanks... for making me bake, Cosmo. I really appreciate you caring about me...
Thank you for being my best friend."
Was it my eye playing tricks on me, or did he visibly flinch at that last part? Everything we had done together had been in friendship, I'm sure, but... were we....
Something more?
...I want to be.......
