Day 7

Ashlyn's POV:

On the other side of the blinding golden light, we came upon to the edge of a forest that looked down into a valley of giant greek buildings and strawberry fields stretching towards the ocean.
"Where are we?" I covered my eyes from the bright sun with my arm.
"We were supposed to go home! Why are we still on Earth?" my friend Annalisa huffed, digging her heels into the soft dirt. Her long lilac hair was coming undone from its messy up-do style. She tugged at her purple dress waiting for an answer.
"Do you think we'll ever get home?" Rachel cried. I could see her dark blue eyes fill with worry and her pale face flushed. She was dressed in a tight dark blue mini dress that matched her eyes, and her white hair was in braids.
Then a warm hand reached out for mine.
"Of course we'll get home. I think we have another quest to finish first." My partner, Skylar, appeared at my side. He was the most handsome creature ever to exist, with his short brown hair carefully put in place and his sweet smile that always found its way on his face. His soft black feathered corset that he wore made him look extra daring today.
"In fact, we should go ask whoever lives down there where we are." Skylar pointed down at the valley.
I looked over at my other two friends, Juliana and Grace. Both were standing just a few feet away from us. Julie glared down at the valley and seemed to sneer at the thought of going down there and speaking with the locals. She tucked her wavy, blazing red hair behind her ears and shoved her fists into the sloppy sown pockets of her just as vibrant red dress.
Grace provided great contrast to Julie, as she was calm and collected with her arms at her sides. She wore a multi-blue colored dress that had mixtures of the darkest blue fabrics to the lightest. Her glossy bright blue eyes gazed down at the buildings.
"Okay then, let's head down there before the sun starts to set." I announced, taking lead of the group. And off we went.

At the bottom of the hill, separated from the giant columned buildings by a grape vine, there was a small log cabin. We decided that would be a good place to start. As we got closer to the cabin, the front door swung open letting a warm glow from the inside fall onto us. A tall, scruffy looking guy stepped out onto the deck holding a mug to his chest. He looked us over and gave us a not so friendly smile.
"Well, well, well. Who do we have here? More campers arriving for the summer?" He said.
"Oh, no sir we are not-" I began but the man cut me off.
"Why are you guys dressed so funny?" He scoffed.
I saw Anna's face flush red and ball her hands into fists.
We weren't getting anywhere with this man.
"Sir," I started, "We are not...uh...campers. We are looking for our way home."
The man raised one eyebrow and took a long sip from his mug.
"If you aren't half-bloods, how'd you get over the hill?" He asked flatly, eyeing our group with suspicion.
"Half-bloods? What's that?" Grace asked.
The man lowered his cup and reached out his arm to a nearby wooden folding table to put the cup down.
"Half-bloods are the children of human and Gods relationships. Like for example, the great and mighty Zeus could get it on with your mom and here you are."
The clear blue sky erupted in a crash of thunder.
"Yeah, yeah I get it." The man said, waving his hand, dismissing the sound.
How did this man make thunder suddenly strike when the sky is so clear?
I narrowed my eyes and tilted my head at the man, trying to think of a reason for the strange occurrence. He seemed to read my mind and finally introduce himself.
"My apologies. I am the great Dionysus; but you, my beautiful students, can call me Mr. D." He said with a slight bow. I looked over my shoulder at my friends and then turned back to Mr. D.
"I'm Ashlyn," I said and motioned my hand behind me, "and these are my friends: Skylar, Rachel, Grace, Annalisa, and Juliana." I pointed at each one of us. They all gave Mr. D a slight nod and a wave and mumbled their hellos.
"Well, we've never had quite a large group like this come in all at once. Do you know your Godly parents? Any of you?"
"Uh...no I'm sorry we don't." I replied. Mr. D reached for his mug on the table and took another big swig.
"Luckily you guys came at the right time. We are having a welcoming ceremony tonight for the start of summer. Hopefully your Godly parents will claim you. If not, we always have room in cabin eleven. That's the cabin for Hermes and his children."
I let out a small sigh, glad that we had a place to stay while we figured out how to get home.
"Thank you very much sir- I mean Mr. D." I said.
"No problem kiddo, now let's get someone to show you around."
