Day 6, Part 1

Grace's POV:
The helicopter was quite spacious. Well it would've been if it wasn't so crowded with angry looking WICKED soldiers.
"Can someone please tell me if Bayron is ok?" Rachel was a tear-stricken mess. After she shot our guide, Bayron, a helicopter swooped down and chained us up with handcuffs that weighed a ton. They loaded us in and had Bayron on a stretcher.
"Well Rachel, maybe if you didn't go all psycho crazy she'd be fine." Said Skylar, who was slumped in the shadows.
"I didn't mean to! And I wasn't even in control of myself."
"What kind of excuse is that?" Theo butted in. Rachel went silent. I sighed and laid down on my back. "Can we all just stop fighting? We are literally being kidnapped."
After a few moments of silent glaring at each other, the helicopter landed.
"Let's go freaks. Move it." A soldier with a familiar sounding voice scooped me up by the shoulders and pushed me out the door. I turned back to try and get a good look at them, but I couldn't see them. My friends got tossed out the hatch after me.
"Don't you think that soldier sounded a lot like Gaia?" I whispered to Skylar. He gave me a confused look.
"Gaia's dead Grace. You're imagining things."
We were marched into a large leveled white building, surrounded by suited people with guns of all sorts. I felt the temperature drop as soon as I walked inside. A man with a pointed rat like face stood in the middle of the white washed hall.
"Welcome to Headquarters, dear subjects. If you'd so kindly follow me and not give us any problems, you won't get shot." He said with an edge to his tone. I hung back and joined Sky at his side.
"What do think they'll do to us?" I asked.
"Probably kill us, what else." He sounded like he was ready to give up. I looked back at Rachel and Theo.
"I'm really sorry Theo. I swear I-" Rachel pleaded.
"I don't want to hear it. Now leave me alone. Please." Snapped Theo, shutting Rachel up.
A misty face floated next to Rachel's shoulder. It looked at me with it's sharp features and disappeared. It was Peridite's lost daughter, Promise.

The story of Promise and her rebellion is a tragic one. She was the oldest of our planet's goddess Peridite's two daughters. Promise died saving our planet from WICKED by raising a rebellion of faes and bringing them to Earth, and starting a war between humans and fae.
The rebellion was captured and their leader killed. Faes have been in hiding ever since. This was the first time faes from the forest have been to Earth in centuries, and it was clear we weren't very welcome.

Sky, Theo, Rachel, and I followed the rat man down white washed halls that twisted and turned for what seemed like forever. We came to a row of metal doors spaced evenly apart.
"I hope you find your stay here very relaxing." The rat man grinned with a wink.
Two guards that I haven't noticed following us before grabbed me by the arms.
"Hey, wait!" I frantically turned my head in circles. The heavy metal door I was facing swung open and I was shoved into the dark room. I fell on my knees onto a padded floor. The door behind me slammed closed, shaking the whole room. It was completely pitch black in the room and growing colder by the minute.
"Skylar? Rachel? Anyone?" I called out, hugging my knees to my chest.
A familiar ghostly face rippled into view a couple feet from me.
"Promise?" I squeaked.
"Hello Grace. I've been waiting for you." She said with an eerie smile. My stomach flipped and I began to shake.
"What do you mean you've been waiting for me?"
Promise chuckled and reached out a thin bone white hand.
"Don't worry my child. My sister Blossom asked me to watch over your little group while you are here on Earth. She said you might need help and guidance on your quest."
I slowly extended my own hand out to hers and she pulled me up from my spot on the cushioned ground.
"What is this purpose of our quest anyway?" I asked.
Promise held my hands in hers and sighed.
"I'm afraid only Mystic knows. He did give you the Key of Time before you left, didn't he?"
I remembered the strange chain around Ashlyn's neck. Did Mystic give her the key? And why?
"Y-yes. I think so."
"Then you have no need to worry, child. That key can open any door and bring you home at any time. Right now seems like a good time to abandon mission, in fact, and return home. You're already in so much danger."
"But what is our mission? We were just sent here with no clues on what we're supposed to be doing here."
Promise just simply shook her head and let go off my hands. She looked doubtful.
"Your mission is a long and dangerous one. This is only the start."
"What do you mean?" I asked once more.
"You sure ask a lot of questions my child..." Promise's appearance started to fade. I reached out for her, but only got a dark room.

Loud crashes came from the other side of my door. My head turned, just as the door swung open. There stood a well built girl in a military uniform.
"Come on princess let's go!" She barked. Her voice sounded like an old memory.
"Gaia?" I stepped closer to the girl in a daze. She grabbed my hand and suddenly pulled me into a hug.
"What are you doing?" I stumbled, pushing her away.
"Just come on!" She grabbed my hand once more and dragged me into the blinding hallway.
