Chapter 8- Threads That Touch

RECAP:

He claps for me, "Oh, your good Eliza."

I nod my head, "Don't have to tell me twice." He smirks and I feel the whole car jerk forward, my head hitting the seat in front of me.

I groan and rub my head, "I think that stupid mechanic is here. Oh my gosh! What if he's like a Jacob Black, Taylor Laughter guy?" I look off in to the distance, day dreaming.

Harry snorts, looking out the window, "Or a massively fat, hairy, Santa Claus."

I give him a side long glance, "Stop looking in the mirror, Styles."

                                        ---------------------------------------------------------------------

I brushed through my now washed, brown, straightened hair. I looked in the mirror and smoothed the front of my red sweater. It was big, but my grandma gave me it. I know what you're thinking. Oh no, not the Christmas sweaters! Oh yes, the Christmas sweaters. I had on some black leggings under the sweater. The sweater is so big it comes to mid-thigh. I have no clue why my grams got me a sweater this size, but in her defense, maybe she forgot what I looked like and thought I was a man with huge football muscles. Or she was just blind. I wonder what happened with her 'girlfriend' or friend, who helps her shop. Who knows?

"Need help!" I smile and run out of my room into the dining room. I see Liam walking in with some grocery bags and I grab some off his arms and lead him to the kitchen. The rest of the boys followed shortly behind.

"Thank you guys so much. It means a lot." I say, starting to prepare the ham and turkey. All the boys were already dressed.

"We'll go ahead and wrap the presents and stuff." Zayn said, leading Louis and Liam out behind him.

At last as I shoved the ham and turkey in the oven, I see Harry. I REALLY see Harry. I burst into laughter and he and Niall look at me strangely. Niall was setting the table while Harry was helping me cook.

"What?" Harry asked, looking at Niall, who shrugged. They both looked back at me and I quickly sobered up.

I point at Harry's red sweater,"I didn't know you have the same taste as my grams!" I point at my own sweater and he and Niall look at the two sweaters. Niall chuckles, setting down the forks on the cloth napkins.

"Well, how do you know if it was your grams who has the same taste as me?" Harry says, his hands flourish around his sweater.

An amused smile lights my face,"So you have the same taste as a blind 80 year old?"

Niall bursts into laughter and Harry blushes, embarrassed. I shrug at Harry, like, what you gonna do? He smiles then goes back to helping me cook.

Later, it was an hour after lunch time, I noted as I looked at the clock hanging on the wall. So we have about five more hours till Christina arrives.

"Five more hours everyone! Decorations, food, and presents better be ready by then!" I call out on the scurrying boys.

"Then why don't you help?!" Louis calls back. It's met with the boy's shouting of agreements.

              "I am helping." I protested.

               "How?" Liam asks, incredulously.

I put my hands on my waist and cock my hip to the side, "I'm helping by standing, looking pretty. You guys were lacking in that department whilst everything else was exceeding. So I thought, they need help here!"

Zayn scowls at me, "Have you seen this face or even more, this body?"

"Yes," I wink, "it's not like you're invisible. No matter how hard you wish."

"Yeah, because he totally wished to be invisible." Louis said dryly.

"If I had a superpower, I would want to have invisibility." Liam inputs.

"You don't have to worry to much about that mate,  you already are." Harry jokes.

"Tell that to all the fans." Liam retorts

Niall grins, "Nothing's fine till we have a see through man." Everyone turns their head to look at him and give him a strange look.

"That doesn't even make sense, Nialler." Zayn says, probably voicing all our thoughts. Niall shrugs and laughs to himself. I chuckle too, unable to resist.

"Back to work my ladies!" Louis calls to all of us. We all give him a humor-less look and he shrugs. "I thought it was funny."

I pat Louis' shoulder as I walk by him. It actually was kind of funny, I'll give him credit for that. I chuckle under my breath and walk over to the radio, turning up some music. It wasn't actually Christmas, so no Christmas music was playing. With the boys rushing around the house, but taking their time at the same time, I walked over to the living room. In the corner of the living room, there was a bright, fake Christmas tree. We had to go with the fake one in my holiday closet. I stood in front of the tree and bent down, grabbing some ornaments on the tree, because the beads, lights and popcorn strings were already on. I started putting red, gold, silver ornaments all over the tree.

"Need any help?" A husky voice asked from behind me. My head turned to see Harry standing closely behind me, looking at the tree. I looked up at the side of his face, "Sure, I have a couple more, but we're saving the star for Chrissy."

He looks down then and smiles, nodding. I could feel his breath caress my face and the music swirl around us, the boys chattering. I smiled in return and poked his dimples. His grin widened and he wrapped his arms around my waist. I furrow my eyebrows together, but wrap my arms around him tightly, before pulling apart.

"Why did you hug me?" I can't say I didn't like it. It made me feel all warm inside.

He shrugs, "I had an urge." I chuckled. As if the that really answered the question. He smiles innocently at me and grabs some ornaments out of the box, ignoring the star like I said.

After we finished and set the table, we decided to spare the rest of our time getting into the Christmas mood by watching Christmas movies. We were watching the credits of the Grinch Who Stole Christmas, because we're cool like that. But before that, we had watched Love Actually.....again.  We watched it a couple days ago at his house when he invited me over.

Dang, Harry, you weren't kidding when you said that was your favorite movie.

The doorbell rings and I jump up and run to the door. I take deep breaths to calm down, but squeal. I'm super excited for Chrissy to be coming over.

"Gees Louise, just open the door already!" Louis cried and the boys smiled. I chuckle in nervousness now and swing open the door. Chrissy stands there in a huge coat, big, baggy jeans and a green turtle neck sweater underneath her coat. She had on some Uggs.

"Mommy!" She cried and ran into my open arms. I picked her up and spun around them propped her on my hip. "Hey baby." I grinned and kissed her on the forehead. She smiles up at me and kisses me on the cheek, making her giggle. I smile and poke her nose, before turning back to the nurse escort.

"Thanks, she'll be safe with us and we'll call you for any emergencies. Oh and pick her up...whenever. Bye!" I said then closed the door, bringing Chrissy into the adjoining living room where the boys have seen the whole thing. "Daddy!" Chrissy cheered when she saw Harry and started to twist in my arms. I set her down and she ran across the room and into Harry's arms.

"Um, is it just me or did she call Harry, daddy, and Eliza, mommy?" Zayn asked, glancing between Harry and me. I shoot Harry a worried look and he returns it.

"Because they're my mommy and daddy, silly!" Chrissy giggled at her own joke and Harry put her down as I walked over to the Christmas tree.

The boys shoot some uneasy glances at each other and Chrissy clambered over to me. "That's bee-yoooo-two-fullll! Are those presents mine?!" She grinned, touching a wrapped box.

I kneel down to her height, "Yeah, you also get to put the star on top of the  Christmas tree."

                                          Her eyes light up, "Really?!"

"Yep!" I say, poking her tummy. Her young, childish laugh fills the room and I grin in return. "Eliza!" I whip my head to Harry, who called my name.

"Yeah man?" I smirked, I don't know why, but I always been wanting to say that, but it always leave my mind. Now I remembered and yeah man. Oh.....YEAH MAN.

"I'm going to talk to the boys in the kitchen." He said, pointing in the direction of the kitchen. I nod and he grins, walking away with the boys in tow, Liam waving at me like it was the last time he was ever going to see me. I chuckle and look back at Chrissy.

                                         "Ready?" I asked.

She nods her head frantically, "Yeah, where's the star, mommy?"

I reach onto the mantle above the fire place where we ended up putting the star. I pick up Chrissy and lift her high on my hip, handing her the star. She smiles and reaches up, hoisting the star on top of the tree. "Yay!" She cheered clapping her hands. I smile and step back, away from the tree and look at the tree in all it's glory. The tree was lit up and it was time for lights out.

I hear some clapping and I turn around to see the boys behind us. I laugh and put Chrissy down as she giggles. They compliment Chrissy on the tree and the star while I whisper to Harry to turn off the lights. He nods and walks across the room before we were enveloped into the darkness, half the room lightly illuminated from the tree. We 'oooh'ed and aww'ed at the pretty sight. Chrissy was right, it was bee-yoooo-two-fullll.

"Turn the lights back on, Harry." I say and the room lights come back on, making me blink my eyes rapidly. "Ready for dinner, Chrissy?" Niall asked her, taking her hand to lead her to the kitchen. Leave it to Niall to ask that question.

"Yeah man!" She said, making me laugh because she was copying what I said earlier, the guys chuckling. "It's quite a feast!" Liam exclaimed as they all trailed behind her and Niall into the kitchen, me and Harry lingering behind. This is quite the large group.

"This seems to be going well, mommy." Harry whispered into my ear.

"Just wait, you have to dress up in a red Santa suit, daddy." I whispered back.

                                         "Really?" He whispered back.

"No and why are we whispering?" I asked, raising my voice to a normal tone. He shrugged and we walked into the kitchen, where everyone was serving themselves, except Chrissy, who had Liam helping her make her plate. I could hear her exclaiming that she wanted to try this and that and the clinking of silverware and laughter filling my ear, the Christmas music playing lightly from a CD I found in the back of my storage closet. Earlier, the boys joked that it had anything in there. I defended it, saying it didn't have Narnia. Safe to say, I won that argument.

"Whoa mommy, look at this!" Chrissy cries as she holds up a brown teddy bear with a red velvet patched heart. I smiled, nodding my head, "It's pretty."

"I love it! Thank you Uncle Lee." She smiles and clutches it to her chest, rocking it side to side. Me and the boys laugh, sitting on the floor surrounded by ripped wrapping paper from her presents. The boys sure know how to splurge.

"Your welcome, Chrissy." Liam smiles, hugging her.

"Open this one!" Louis says, urging forward a white and gold wrapped present. She takes it from him eagerly, setting the bear beside her. I watch as she has trouble opening the present and Niall helps her rip it open. She gasps halfway through and Niall's laugh fills the room as he rips the rest of the paper off.

"It's Uncle Lou!" She said, giggling as she held up a box with a Louis doll in it. Seeing it, me and the other boys fill up with laughter, Niall already having a red face. Louis sits proudly, smiling at Chrissy. She puts the box down beside her and I get up, stepping around everyone's random legs, hands, feet and arms all over the floor, reaching under the tree. I pull out a small green wrapped present, the size of my palm.

"Scoot your bootch, Louis." I said as I sit down, trying to fit between Louis and Chrissy. I hand the box gently to Chrissy, telling her to be gentle. She slowly takes the wrapping paper and I chuckle, knowing the boys were excited to see what was in it.

                                                       "A box?" Zayn asks, confused.

"Open the box, Chrissy." I say, then shot a look at Zayn, who winks. I roll my eyes, smirking and she opens the top of the black box and grins.

"That's so pretty!" She cries and I take the box, carefully taking little the golden locket with a picture of me and her in it. I fasten the clasp around her neck and she squeals, hugging me tightly.

"Open the necklace sweetie." I murmur into her hair. Sitting in my lap, she pulls back and reaches up to her necklace, popping it open.

                                                          "It's us!"

"Let me see!" Louis cries and Chrissy waves his hand for him to go away. He pouts and Harry shouts 'rejected', making me laugh harder.

"Oh no!" Chrissy cries and we all snap our heads to look at her.

"What's wrong?" Harry asks worriedly, voicing all our thoughts.

"You, Uncle Lee, Lou, Ni, and Zaynie are not in the picture, daddy!" She cries, frowning.

"Don't worry, we'll fix that if it's okay with mommy." Harry says, smiling softly as he leans forwards on all fours. He kisses Chrissy, who was sitting on my lap, on her forehead, locking eyes with me. I smile softly and nod my head.

                                                          "Mommy, can we?"

"Yes baby." I smile and kiss her nose.
