Overboard
"I have sailed the world and seen it's wonders. From the Dardanelles to the mountains of peru. Yet I'm longing for London..." The moonlight shone on the waves as the ship rocked sideways gently.
"Not longing for your girl Mr Hope?"
"That wonder has not come my way yet" Anthony smiled regretfully so his fellow sailor patted his shoulder and looked over the water
"Bright night tonight Mr Hope. I shouldn't wonder the lighthouses aren't needed" He squinted at the waves and yelled "Man overboard! Cast down a rope boys!" Anthony climbed down it and supported the dark haired man slipping nearer to the waves.
"Haul us up sirs!" They laid the man on the floor and pressed firmly on his central chest. He coughed up water and retched it onto the wood before propping himself up on both arms.
"I thank you Mr..."
"Hope" Anthony watched him recover enough to pass a joke
"Mr Hope. Is that some kind of omen?" As it turned out...
"We must reach a medic sir for your strength" They were nearing London when the man spoke again.
"Where are we headed for our destination Mr Hope?"
"London sir. My hometown" Anthony paused "Sir?"
"I'm fine" He noted the darkness of his features at the mention of the city but left it. It wasn't his place.
