"Ugh are you sure that's the case?"

Ash asked for the hundredth time while pacing around his room and messing with his hair. Ever since they found out that they pissed off Katie Donel in order to prank Misty, they've been feeling...

Guilty.

Not because it was The Katie Donel. But because they ruined the chance for Misty to get closer to her dream she wished ever since she was a child. Well that's what May and Dawn said when they came to yell at them. Fortunately they didn't kill them.

"Yes Ash. And look here, it's a report on Misty's swimming career. " Drew said looking at his computer. Ash and Paul got up and stood behind Drew to see an old news report.

Cerulean city: Meet Misty a 5 year old with advanced swimming skills.
Misty Waterflower who is the youngest in the Waterflower family have a gift on swimming. She is more skilled than most other kids around this age. She already won countless medals and trophies. "She has been swimming since forever. She loves being close to water than anything." Stated her grandmother. Misty says she wants to be the best swimmer ever and she'll work hard for it. Wishes for our future champion who'll surely make our city proud.

It followed a photo of 5 year old Misty holding a medal.

"And I heard she got loads of championships til now." Drew said.

Ash sighed and flopped down on the couch with a guilty look and pulled at his hair.

"Ash why are you getting all serious over this? It's not like this is the first time we've done things like this. Come on we've done worse. " Paul said uneasily.

" Yeah I know Paul. But it's just, it feels so wrong I don't know why." Said Ash.

"Hmm I think I know why." Drew said making Ash and Paul look at him.

"You like her." Drew stated simply. Ash widened his eyes and jumped up from the couch.

"WHAT? No I don't! Are you crazy? I won't ever like her never ever." Ash yelled.

" Whoa whoa calm down Ash I was just kidding." Drew said sweat dropping.

"Hmm well to be honest I think you kinda like her too. You've kicked out every single person who ever disrespected you without a thought. But in her case you just keep pulling pranks on her and talking about her all day. And you're even feeling guilty which you never feel. " Paul said with a smirk.

"Okay first of all I.DO.NOT. like her. I'm just going easy on her because I'm bored and it's fun to watch her getting annoyed by me again and again than simply kicking her out. And I'm feeling guilty because...well you know I respect people working hard to achieve their dreams." He ended with a sigh and fell on the coach again looking at cealing.

"So should we...apologize?" Drew said and Ash looked at him like he has grown two heads.

"No Drew. I'm Ash. Apologizing is a word I'm not at all familiar with. You know that. " Ash said and suddenly his eyes lit up. "I know what to do." He said picking up his phone.

It's been a week since the incident. Misty was still mad and wanted to punch the hell out of them every time they breathed the same air as her. But she chose to be mature and ignore them.
It was not easy to avoid them since they are in almost every class of her. And to make it worse they kept making stupid comments and try to annoy her everyday. She would just answer all of it with a death glare and walk away. Which amazed the three cause it wasn't everyday Misty Waterflower won't give a snarky remark to their comments. They acted like everyday. Only Misty knew how much that incident hurt her. But they still teased her about that and says stuff like 'oh she's scared, so she finally know not to mess with us' and all when she ignores them.
The classes were over and Misty was walking towards Principal's office.
Now the principal asked her to stay after class for something. After finding out what happened he was very sorry for her. Principal Samuel suspected that the three had something to do with the incidents since he got some informations about their little wars. But there wasn't any proof and Misty wasn't interested in principle punishing anyone.

Misty opened the door and saw the person she didn't expect to see again. Katie Donel sat there with a smile on her face. Principal Samuel asked Misty to come in.

"Hi Misty." Katie said. She didn't look mad at all. "Should we do the interview here?" She asked.

"Huh? But why? Aren't you mad at me?" Misty asked surprised.

"No Misty I know you weren't the one who did that. Samuel told me all about it. And it's okay. You guys are in the fun age. I was angry at the moment because of some things. I'm not gonna let some silly things get into the forming of a future champion." She said and Misty smiled. She was still confused but let it slide.

They walked into the private room of office and Misty asked all the questions she wanted to and Katie gave Misty alot of pointers.

[Time skip]

The time went fast that they didn't notice. Now Misty and Katie were walking out of the school.
"It was nice talking to you Misty. So I gott go now."  Katie said opening her car door."Miss Katie, before you go, can I ask you something?" Misty said.

"What is it Misty?"

"What changed your mind suddenly? Did you really decided to let that incident slide just because Principal Samuel said so?" Misty asked.

Katie looked at her and smiled. "Well it's not just Samuel. Actually your friend came to me and told me about everything."

"Friend? Which friend?" Misty looked at her confused.

"Ash Ketchum. He said everything about how they pulled the prank without knowing I was there, and about how much swimming means to you." Katie finished with a smile.

"What? Ash? Really?"

"Yes Misty. He also tried to bribe me saying he'll invest lots of money for our national team and all." Katie chuckled. "That kid sure is rich. But most importantly he cares about you alot. He sounded so sincere while talking about you." She finished.

"Oh.. um alright. Thanks miss Katie." Misty said and Katie got into the car after saying goodbye.

Misty slowly walked to home thinking about why in the world would Ash do such thing. She arrived home to see the delivery man leaving and May standing outside with a big box.

"Misty this is for you!" May yelled  seeing her. Misty and May went inside and placed the box in living room.
"What's in that box?" Dawn who was sitting at the coach while eating a bag of chips asked.

Misty slowly opened the box and May's eyes widened. The big box was filled with expensive chocolates.

"Whoa awesome! Who sent this." Dawn asked coming over.

"I don't know." Misty said and checked the box. There was rose attached to it.

"Oooh seems like Miss-Tea got a lover." Dawn said giggling.
"Who could it be?" May picked one chocolate bar and smelled it. "I think it's one of the stalkers at school. But the thing is that all of these are my favourite chocolates." Misty said amused.
"Now that's some major stalking. Well anyway let's eat." May said and began to eat it causing Misty and Dawn to sweat drop.

"Misty why were you held back at school?" Dawn asked still inspecting the chocolate box.

"Well something happened."

May and Dawn looked at Misty amusingly after she explained everything. "Wow really? You mean Ash Ketchum actually did a good thing?" May asked.
"Yeah... I still think it's some trick of his." Misty said sighing. "Or, he just felt guilty and made everything right and is just ashamed to apologize to you." May said.

"So that's how it is!" Dawn suddenly jumbed clapping her hands. "It's obvious Misty." She said.

"What's obvious?" Misty asked.

"He likes you"

Misty looked at Dawn like she had grown two heads. "What the heck Dawn? Are you mad? Ash friggin Ketchum could never ever like me!" Misty yelled.

"Oh come on Misty don't you see it? Ash never even spare a glance to other girls at school even if they try to be all over him.But with you he keeps coming up to pull pranks and annoy you. Isn't that an excuse to meet you daily? And he never have ever felt guilty and done something nice to anyone. And obviously this chocolates are from him as a way of apologizing." Dawn said like she had finally figured out a hard math question.

May stood up and joined Dawn's side, both looking at the wide eyed Misty on the couch. "What Dawn said do make sense Misty. Why do you think he pulls childish pranks on you instead of getting you kicked out of the school like he did with everyone else." May said.

"W-well I don't know about that. But he doesn't like me that's all I know." Misty said stubbornly.

"He does Misty. Wow it's amazing. The bad boy and the good girl. Opposites attracts don't they. " Dawn said daydreaming and fangirling.

Misty finally stood up and started shaking Dawn's shoulders. "Opposites only attract in physics and it has nothing to do with love life. Well it may work for you and Paul but not us." Misty said. "And it's ridiculous to thing that he likes me."

"Oh come on Misty. Just think about it-AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT MAY WORK FOR ME AND PAUL?" Dawn yelled with a red face. May jumped between them before they could say anything more. "Ok then Misty. How about we make a bet?" May said cheekily.

"What bet?"

"If Ash Ketchum do like you, you'll have to do whatever me and Dawn says. If at the end he don't like you, you can make us do anything."  May said and Dawn nodded smiling. Misty glared at them and finally sighed.

"Deal"
