school
"Shadow, get up you're gonna be late for school!" Ebony ears perk up at the sound of his name being called from downstairs. His alarm clock was his own human sister.
Shadow sat up, stretched while letting out a dragged yawn and pulled the black covers off him. jumping out of bed, threw on his black jacket, sprayed on cologne and went about his usual morning routine.
"Morning Shadow," Maria said happily at the sight of her mobian brother. She was down in the kitchen cleaning dishes and getting ready for her day, the house had to be clean before she left.
"Mng, good morning Mari," Shadow mumbled walking into the kitchen and serving himself some cereal into a bowl.
"Anything going on in school today?" Maria asked scrubbing a plate with a yellow sponge.
"Uh, I know we're starting some project," Shadow said staring into his bowl of fruit loops. "That sounds fun."
"Well, that's nice. Hopefully, you'll have a good day at school."
"Hope you have a good day at work as well, sis."
That was Shadow's morning, it was typically always the same. The two made small talk as Shadow continued to eat his breakfast. When the bus stopped by his home, he slipped on his bag, waved goodbye to the blond haired girl and dashed to sit with his pot headed friend.
"Did you do your homework?" Silver asked Shadow as soon as he sat down next to him.
"Of course I did." Shadow takes his backpack and sets it on his lap, sliding the zipper to open it. "You bring the five dollars?"
Silver sighed and took out the five bucks from his pocket and handed it to Shadow. "You shouldn't do this to me, I'm your best friend." Silver fakely pouts and takes out his geometry worksheet.
Shadow chuckles and takes out his homework handing it to Silver for him to copy. The two hedgehogs always copied each others homework taking turns at the low price of five dollars, something they did as best friends.
Shadow watches as his gray quilled friend copied down the answers and his work as well so he wouldn't get caught. Suddenly the bus stops to pick up students from the last stop. The black hedgehog watches as all the kids get on, the last one being a blue hedgehog who wore a pink shirt as his head was down, he sat down on the empty seat next to him and Silver, pulling out his phone, he smiled at something on the screen.
Shadow knew this kid, his name was Sonic. He was a year younger than him and very quiet, Shadow always saw him sitting alone at lunch or in the library working on homework. Sonic looked up and caught the black hedgie staring making him look away. Shadow could have sworn he heard him chuckle.
