Round 5 - Poisoning
Kemorebi-pearl sulkily, with his head and tail drooped trudged into the healer's den. He didn't even try to struggle, all that went through in his mind was I'll get to meet all the cat's that died. I'll be at peace. He could see Strawberrycloud look grief-stricken as the feline surrendered to his fate. But one thing lay uneasy in Kemorebi-pearl's stomach. Why? Why, out of all the other grey-furred cats, did they pick him? Some other thoughts also flashed through his mind, sadder ones. It's because I'm mute right. Because I can't defend myself so well. Because I always seem silent. This caused slight anger to build up inside of him. But he new better than to act out. It was a time of harsh actions, and the clan new very well that desperate times called for desperate measures. Kemorebi-pearl, himself, knew very well.
He knowingly sat down in the moss-bed lay ready for him. He'd seen the process before, he knew it very well. The den was silent, no leafs rustled or birds chirped. It's as if the nature around them knew that this was a sullen time. The only sounds were Peachstone's moving of herbs. Kemorebi-pearl could see the pain in her eyes, it was not easy for the young healer. Knowing that she was causing so many innocents' deaths. He knew that pain very well, from voting out several cats, knowing he could do nothing to stop the killer, to end these terrible times.
The healer placed the bundle in front of Kemorebi-pearl. The air around it smelled tingly and sweet. He signed to her, 'Why does it smell sweet?'
She replied, "I put honey in it, to make it sweeter." She then looked away and nudged the bundle closer.
Kemorebi-pearl braced himself and ate the bundle of mysterious herbs, and instantly, he felt like a million cuts were scraping his body, the pain was indescribable. And, in a matter of seconds, he was gone. The spirit from his body drifted away, leaving it completely lifeless.
Peachstone buried her head into his body, sobbing. Strawberrycloud, Dragonflywish, Softrose, Smalldove, and Heatherpaw slowly entered the den. The chief sighed, "Why are we being punished like this."
