*Takeru POV*

"Where is this place" I asked myself confused

I looked around the area to find nothing but darkness, the floor was covered in a deep mist and as far as I can see no one is here. I couldn't understand why I was in this place of nothingness.

"You are destined to be more than a ninja" A mysterious voice exclaimed

"Who's there? What do you mean by that?"

"In time you will understand"

"When will I know? What is greater then a ninja? Please answer me"

"We will meet again, Takeru Masaru"

Saying that the voice started to fade away.

"Wait how do you know my name"

Once the voice completely faded away I woke up to find I was in my room covered in cold sweat.

"It was just a dream"

Its been 2 weeks since my first training session with Yamato and since then the training has been the same with changes to make it more difficult. During the times I'm not training I usual hang out with Kiba, Choji or Shikamaru if I see any of them which is always fun. Though for some reason I keep having weird dreams with the same voices I heard when I first arrived in the village, but this is the first time that I heard that voice in my dream.

"Takeru its time to head out for training" Yamato called out

"Coming Yamato"

"You are destined to be more than a ninja"

'I wish I knew what he mean't by more than a ninja'

~Time Skip~

I had finished my training for the day and now was walking the streets of the village trying to figure out the meaning of my dream this morning and about something Yamato asked me at the end of training today.

~Flashback~

"Takeru before I head off I have a question for you concerning your future as a ninja" Yamato exclaimed

"What is it sensei?"

"As a ninja what is it you wish to protect"

"What do you mean by that?"

"As a ninja you will be asked to protect the village, but many of us have a goal as a ninja some for the wrong reasons like revenge, others to defend others"

"I don't know"

"It will come to you in time for now give it some consideration"

~End of Flashback~

'Could the voice have mean't that I will become stronger...or maybe I'll find a purpose in my life...could it have something to do with the ones I heard before today and with what Yamato said about my goal as a ninja?'

While I was continuing to think I came to a sudden stop as I hit something or someone and hit the floor.

'Ouch, I need to learn to pay attention to where I'm going' I thought trying to ease the pain

I look up to see what I had bumped into to find that once again I had bumped into Hinata walking along the village with her father Hiashi.

"Young Takeru we meet again and once again you failed to be careful of your surroundings" Hiashi stated

"I apologise Hiashi sir, I was in deep thought" I say bowing

"You should always stay vigilant you never know what can happen"

"I'm sorry again for bumping into you again Hinata, are you hurt?" I asked extending my hand

"I'm ok" Hinata replied quietly

I help Hinata back to her feet after bumping into her for the second time.

"I will do my best not to bump into you again"

"Um o-ok" Hinata replied sheepishly

'She seems so innocent' I thought my cheeks turning a slight red

"Well I best be going sorry if I caused any trouble"

With that said I left the area making sure to focus on my surroundings this time.

*Yamato POV*

After I finished with Takeru's training for the day I was contacted by a member of the ANBU saying I had to report to lord Hokage for a mission and headed straight to the Hokage building to receive the details of the mission wearing my ANBU mask.

"Lord Hokage your wished to see me" I said entering the Hokage's office

"Yes, I have a mission for you Yamato" The Hokage replied filling paperwork

"What are the details?"

"I have gotten word that ninja from the Land of Lightning are currently in the village. I need you to keep an eye on them and find out what their up to" The Hokage explained

"Understood"

With the details of my new mission clear I leave the building heading out to locate the ninja from the Land of Lightning that I have been ordered to watch.

*Takeru POV*

"It was starting to get dark so I decided to head back to my home so I can get ready for training tomorrow with Yamato.

'I wonder if I should make something for dinner to thank Yamato for all that he's done. I never really did anything big to thank him"

I still can't help but wonder about that dream I had this morning with that mysterious voice and I keep recalling the words that it spoke.

"You are destined to be more than a ninja"

'No matter how much I think about it only makes it more confusing'

I take the time to look at the great rock formation and recall what Yamato said about the faces engraved on the cliff.

"The things they did as Hokage have gone in history and died protecting everyone in the village"

'Those people sacrificed themselves for the lives of the people in the village. Could I be destined to save people the way they did?' I thought reaching my hand out to the formation in the distant

Suddenly as the sun had faded in the horizon something at the corner of my eye caught my attention. I look at the direct to find Hinata and Hiashi walking into a large building which I would assume to be their home.

'This is the second time I've seen them today'

Suddenly I see two figures outside the building, people that I have never seen in the village before.

"Those guys look like trouble" I said to myself

I go closer for a better look making sure that they don't see me managing to get close enough to hear what their saying.

"If we capture the girl we could get an upper hand in taking down her father" One of the men said

"We must act with stealth or else we won't succeed in grabbing her" Another man stated

'Their trying to capture Hinata, this is bad what do I do. Should I find Yamato or inform uncle?' I thought 'No by the time I inform them of this they could have Hinata'

No matter how much I tried to find a solution I realised that they couldn't be done the only thing I could think of after that was...

'I'll have to try and save her myself' I decided 'But wait they look like they have experience, I've only have 2 weeks of training can I really save her' I realised starting to shake

"You have to try Takeru" A male voice from my first dream exclaimed

'Those voices again'

"Believe in yourself Takeru" A female voice from my first dream exclaimed

'But I'll fail'

"You are destined to be more than a ninja"

My thoughts were broken when I heard the men crash through the gates carrying Hinata on their backs.

'Oh no' I thought worried

"Let's get out of here boss" One of the men suggested

"Right" The man with Hinata on his shoulder replied. With that they dashed away a high speeds. "I gotta follow them and protect Hinata" I said to myself pursuing her kidnappers

*Yamato POV*

I was on the search for the ninja from the Land of Lightning with to no avail to finding them. Then I passed by the Hyuga estate to find the gate smashed with Takeru who was right out front running at high speeds in a direction.

'Could Takeru have witnessed the ninja from the Land of Lightning'

I decided to follow Takeru as he was running to discover where he was going and most likely find the ninja I was asked to watch.

*Takeru POV* ~Time Skip~

I followed the two ninja as best I could to find their hideout which was a building that looked new probably built by them located on the outskirts of the village. They were keeping Hinata inside with one of them guarding the doorway while the other one was on the inside most likely keeping watch on their captive.

'I gotta think of a plan to get inside' 'I've still got some Shuriken from training but they might not help me considering how skilled the ninja may be'. I then got an idea as to how to get inside. I located an animal near a bush nearby the ninja guarding the door. 'Lets hope my training pulled off'. I aimed for the spot near the animal and threw my Shuriken in the direction and luckily for me I hit my mark causing the animal to rush into the bush causing a noise. "Who's there?" The ninja asked heading to the bush. While the animal kept him distracted I headed inside the building making as little noise as possible.

"Alright I'm inside" I said quietly. I cautiously walked down the hallway with Shuriken in hand to defend myself

'The other man should be close'

As I had that thought I started to turn at the end of the hall only to quickly hide after noticing the man was right in front of a door in the next hall.

'What should I do now'

As I had that thought I looked at the man to notice he was being cautious.

'Does he know I'm here but how?'

At that moment the man was walking towards me.

'I've gotta think fast' I thought considering my options

Then I thought of the first thing that Yamato taught me and started to gather my chakra to the soles of my feet and walked onto the roof keeping as low as I can, luckily for me he didn't notice me and passed by. I didn't know how long it would be before he notice that I slipped past him so I decided to take this chance to save Hinata.

'It looks like she's still unconscious better get her out of here while I can' I thought picking Hinata up

I peek my head out the door to make sure everything is clear. 'Looks like the coast is clear' I exit the room and head in the other direction to find another way back when...

"Hey how did you get in here" I heard a man yell

'Dammit its the guard from earlier'

I don't bother turning around to catch a glimpse of my pursuer and instead break out in a mad dash to get out of the building before I get caught.

*Yamato POV*

After following Takeru I discover a building that was not here before and most likely used by the ninja as a base, considering the damage to the Hyuga estate its safe to assume their goal was Hiashi's daughter. It was risky to let Takeru get involved but I need to assess the situation with the ninja from the Land of Lightning. Suddenly a voice is heard from inside the building.

"Hey how did you get in here" A man yelled

'It seems Takeru has been discovered'

Hearing this the ninja guarding the doorway dashed inside the building most likely to assist the man.

"I should enter and make sure Takeru is unharmed"

With that in went out in the open and entered the building searching for Takeru and the kidnapped Hyuga.

*Takeru POV*

It was hard to escape the ninja since he was fast. When I found the chance I slipped past him to get some rest in a room above the hallway.

'I won't be able to keep this up for long. How can I get out of here'

Suddenly I heard footsteps below me and peeked through a hold to look for the source, it was the man that was chasing me with his partner.

"Boss what was the commotion?" The partner asked

"Some brat go in here and got our hostage" The man stated

"But how?"

"You tell me, YOU were the one guarding the entrance"

"He must have snuck in when I heard commotion in the bush"

"Doesn't matter just find him, the sooner we get our hostage back the sooner we can defeat that Hyuga"

"Right boss"

With that they leave the hall and with things all clear I jump down from my hiding spot.

"Now that their both looking for me it will be difficult to get out of here" I said to myself heading back to the entrance

~Time Skip~

After avoiding the pair of ninja many times I feel like I get closer to the entrance recognising some of the surroundings from when I first got here. I turn the corner to find the doorway within my reach.

'Alright I made it now to get out of here' I thought with joy

I run to the doorway and come to a stop when I feel movement on my shoulder.

'She's starting to regain consciousness'

Sadly my feeling of joy was short lived as the two ninja suddenly appear both behind and in front of me.

"Wait how did you..."

"Please kid, we had a feeling you would escape from here again. All we had to do was use a jutsu to blend into our surroundings and catch you off guard" The leader explained

"Now give us the girl" The partner ordered

"Not a chance" I reply with conviction

"I'd listen if I were you if not...we'll kill you" The leader said with a sinister grin

'Kill me...but I... don't wanna die' I thought colour draining from my face

"Seems that knocked some sense into you now hand over the girl and we'll let you live"

'I don't wanna die...but I can't abandon Hinata...a dear friend' I look over my shoulder to see the young girl

"You are destined to be more than a ninja"

'I may not know what I'm destined for'

"Your time's up kid time for you to die" The leader said grabbing a Kunai

"Please Takeru, make our world one of peace"

'I may not know if I can make the world peaceful'

The partner readied his Kunai.

'I may not know who I am'

The pair of ninja charge ready to strike.

"As a ninja what is it you wish to protect"

'What I do know is' I thought holding onto Hinata tight

*??? POV*

The ninja charge straight at Takeru with Yamato who is right behind watching the events unfold ready to intervene Takeru seems frozen until a large amount of energy surrounds his area that gives a strong force in the building.

"MY WISH IS TO PROTECT THE ONES THAT I LOVE" Takeru screamed at the top of his voice

As Takeru screamed his claim, a massive burst of chakra surrounds him and pushes back the attacking ninja and destroys the building in the process. This shocked Yamato to see a massive spike in chakra in Takeru that causes the building to collapse like it did.

*Hinata POV*

"Thank you Takeru" I said softly as I slip into unconsciousness

*Yamato POV*

"That chakra could it be..." I said to myself going to Takeru's side

"Did I...protect Hinata?" Takeru asked quietly looking drained

"Yes Takeru you did"

Takeru gave a faint smile as he became unconscious due to exhaustion.

'It seems Takeru has more potential then I initially thought"

I head over to the ninja and grab them and the children delivering the ninja to the ANBU headquarters for questioning and delivered the young Hyuga daughter to the estate.

"Thank you for saving my daughter" Hiashi thanked grabbing his daughter

"Actually it was Takeru Masaru that saved your daughter Hiashi" I stated

"I see. He is a good child, give him my thanks once he regains consciousness" Hiashi asked

"I will"

As I said my farewell to Hiashi I returned home with Takeru placing him in his room leaving him to rest. The energy he exhibited against those ninja was a powerful force...from this point on I will have to keep a closer eye on his progress growing into a ninja.
