Katie's P.O.V

I took another kick in the stomach and that's when I had it. I fell to the ground not moving because I couldn't. We had gone though almost the whole deck- 47 cards out of 52. There isn't much more I can take of this and at this point I'm ready to give up my fight and let go. I may be giving Emily the satisfaction of me dying but at least I wouldn't go though this pain anymore. The only thing that was keeping me going was Asher. And Asher only.

"Come on Katie. Get up, the game only has a few more rounds." Emily's voice rang through my ears, causing me to shiver. I wasn't able to move, it hurt too much. "Aw too tired?" She taunted. "We'll I guess I'll be nice and end your life now. No need to thank me, it's my pleasure." Without another word I felt a stabbing in my stomach. I yelped in pain. She left the blade in me, creating excruciating pain.

Emily brings her face close to my ear and whispers, "Pay backs a-" Before she could finish her sentence, I shut my eyes and everything goes black.

Asher's P.O.V

I could feel her pain growing more, making me want to tear someone's head off. How dare someone hurt my mate. Katie's scent is growing stranger with each step I take.

Running through the woods I then her a blood curling scream that I know belongs to Katie. I run as fast as my wolf could go and then I see her- laying helplessly on the ground while Emily circles her. There's a knife in her stomach and I couldn't hold myself back when Emily leans by her face.

I launch myself into her and she stumbles back. As soon as she realizes it's me she shifts and starts attacking me. I make sure not to look over to Katie because I'd be too distracted to kill Emily.

Emily claws me in the face and I take the chance and chomp own her neck, making her whimper in pain. I once again launched myself at her and clawed her face and she fell to the ground- unmoving. She wasn't dead... Yet.

She suddenly shifted into her human form, which was now covered in scratches and blood. When Emily saw me her eyes went wide and her breaths came out shaky. I also shifter and kneeled down to where she was and looked her in the eyes. "Emily, I hope you know that I will very much enjoy killing you." And right after I said that I snapped her neck.

Without giving her another glance I ran over to where Katie was. Her heartbeat was getting slower and slower by the minute. I carefully took the knife out of her stomach and she grimaced in pain, her eyes still shut.

I grabbed her and held her bridal style and began running through the forest to the pack house. I felt the leaves crunch under my bare feet and several sticks stab me but I ignored all those and ran as fast as I could.

Once I was at the pack house I bust down the door with my foot and went to the living room and laid her down. "Is someone in here?!" I shouted, panic taking my voice. Katie was losing a lot of blood and I couldn't do anything.

Suddenly her mother comes rushing in and shields her eyes. "Boy, put some clothes on!" She snapped.

I immediately let out a growl. "Your daughter is dying and you're worried about me being naked?! Make yourself useful and get the pack doctor!" I roared at her and she flinched but scurried out to do what I said.

I kneeled down in front of Katie and grabbed her hand and kissed her bruised knuckles. "Stay with my baby." I whispered.

After a couple minutes the pack doctor came in along with Katie's mother. The doctor told us to scoot back so she could help her. Katie's mother handed me a pair of shorts and I shot her an annoyed expression but putting them on.

"Asher, she's lost so much blood." The doctor said.

"No shit! Help her! I can't lose my mate!" I yelled at him.

"I think you mean my mate." The annoying voice said. I turned my head to see Mark and Alpha Miller standing in the doorway.

Me being fed up with the little prick and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and slammed him into a wall. Since he was only a beta and me being an alpha, I easily over powered him. "She is my mate you bastard! If I hear you call her yours one more time I will not hesitate to snap your neck!" I roared in his face. I slammed him into the wall one last time before releasing him and going back to Katie.

"Asher, you and your pack can go. We've got this." Alpha Miller said.

I turned around and glared. "Are you fucking stupid?! I'm not leaving my mate and sure as hell am not leaving her with you psychos!"

Before he could reply the doctor did. "I gave Katie stitches to stop the bleeding. That's all I can do. She's in a coma right now and I don't know when she'll wake up. I suggest you keep an eye for her and hope for the best." And with that he left.

I carefully grabbed Katie again and began walking out the door with her. "Alpha Asher, where are you taking my daughter?" Alpha Miller questioned.

"Home. And don't you even dare try to stop me. Also I suggest you let my pack go because I am friends with many of the other alphas in America and I know for a fact that you're not." I said before walking out.

Alpha Miller made the wise decision of letting my pack members go and we were now back at the pack house. I had put Katie in our bed to rest and made sure that our pack doctor was keeping an efficient eye on her. My wolf and I are going crazy at this point, craving to see our mate.

Colton was also in my position because Heather had to stay with her pack to keep her family living and he had to accept that. Which he didn't. He's now thinking of ways to get her back. I offered for her and her family to become part of the pack but Heather said she couldn't because Alpha Miller would kill them before they had a chance to leave.

To say Midnight Risers were a messed up pack is saying the least. But I've got a plan to take them down. I've contacted some other alphas in the country telling them what's been happening with Alpha Miller's pack and they agree that it's just wrong. So next week some times they are coming to my pack to discuss some things.

It's now January 3rd, Katie has been in a coma for two months. I'm going crazy and I see that it's effecting the pack. Colton has been a huge help in running the pack but he is also suffering from not seeing his mate.

I've met with some of the alphas a couple times and we decided to attack on the first day of summer, June 21st. Hopefully Katie will be awake then, otherwise I think I might not be able to proceed with the fight.

Alpha Sam Rodriguez, of the Silver Slate pack, is coming by today with his mate, Luna Maria Rodriguez. It even pains me to see other wolves with their mates while mine lays in a bed all day.

I sit here day after day by her side while she sleeps. I grabbed ahold of her hands and lightly press a kiss against it. Not being able to talk to her for so long is slowly killing me, like a slow excruciating death. The door bell rings and I stand up, but before exiting the room a place a soft kiss against her forehead and then walk down stairs.

Opening the door, I see Alpha and Luna Rodriguez. I shake Sam's hand and do the same to the Luna.

Once in the house we all go into the living room and begin to talk.

"Alpha Asher, I've talked to Alpha Peter Trotter, of Moon Knight pack, and he has also agreed to proceed to the attacking of Alpha Miller's pack, Midnight Risers. Now we have myself, you, Alpha Peter, Alpha Tristan, and Alpha Troy on our side. The only alphas that have declined to fight is Alpha Steven and Alpha Jared." Sam informs me.

I think about what he has told me for a moment and then reply. "Thank you for helping Sam. It truly means so much and I will do my best to repay you the best I can."

Alpha and Luna Rodriguez leave after a couple more hours of chatting and I'm now back to my original place- sitting besides Katie. I grab her hand once again and hope that she'll wake any second.

It's now been 30 years since Katie's been in a coma. I'm 54 years old and refuse to let her go. She still lays in the same spot as she did 30 years ago when I put her there. In my eyes, Katie is still as beautiful as when I first laid eyes on her.

All he Alphas and I ended up attacking Alpha Miller and we won. I finished him off along with Mark and a few other members of his pack. The other members were either forced to join my pack or be killed. Heather and Colton were never able to mate because she has gone crazy and attempted to kill Colton, unfortunately Colton was the one who ended up having to kill her.

Colton couldn't live with the guilt of his mate dying so he killed himself shortly afterwards. John took the position of beta and never found his mate. I'm basically at rock bottom at this point in my life.

There's only one thing to do... I took the nearest knife from the kitchen and...

Suddenly my eyes shoot up and I stand up observing my surroundings. It was just a dream... I look at Katie and see that she looks the same as she always has. I let out a breath of relief. That was the scariest dream I've ever had. I could never go without my mate that long and refused to.

Things were going to change. They needed to change. The first thing I needed to do was kill Alpha Miller.
