There Was A Trap...

Thankfully, I got to the town faster than I had thought, and I was able to figure something out. The only reason I could think of for why that commander had decided to head here was for the stardust. It was the only thing that could kill his kind.

As I thought this, I wondered why those who were fighting had not used it on the elves. Wouldn't it had made things so much easier?

I needed to guard the stardust. Luckily, that elf was still nowhere to be seen, and so I had a bit of time. I searched around the ruins to see if there was anything I could use to strike him maybe by surprise, or even trap him. I needed something.

Something like...

My eyes searched the area until I spotted a net which was filled with pointed stones. It looked like the children had still been in the process of making it, but it would have to do. I bunched it up, careful to make sure the stones didn't fall out. It was only when I touched it that I realised it was all sticky.

What were they using to make this thing?

I knew now how to carry out my plan. But I had to do it fast.

Robin POV

Something went wrong.

We didn't know how but it just did.

We thought we had won when Aladdin had knocked the last elf unconscious with his staff. But then, all of a sudden, everyone started coughing severely and feeling dizzy. I felt nausea building up inside me as I stumbled across the path and slid down to sit by a tree. I leant my head back on the bark, breathing deeply. Aladdin saw me from across the pathway, as he comforted some of the children who had feverish temperatures.

"You alright, man"? He asked. He tried to hide it, but I could see he was feeling strange as well. The brightness had left his eyes. I shook my head but could not bring myself to speak.

It was a trap. It must have been. What did they do to us? How did they do it?

"Jessika should've come down by now", Aladdin said, sitting on the grass next to a little girl, who was coughing violently, and rubbing her back, "Jess...where are you"? His voice was faint, and barely enough sound came out for him to shout.

Where was that commoner when you needed her?

She better be alright. If she's dead, I'll kill her.

Of course, it wasn't like I was worried about her or anything. It was just that it was a possibility that she hadn't been infected by whatever we had been infected with, and she could go for help...or something like that.

My head started to burn, and the world swirled around me in a blur. The elf who I had fist fought with earlier lay in front of me, and gingerly raised his head. Our eyes locked, and I saw a wicked grin spread across his bruised face.

------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, Jessika...

The commander searched the town. He scavenged around through the ruins, and kicked around pieces of broken furniture scattered around the streets. I watched him closely through the trees, as he made his way to the place where Robin and I had been imprisoned.

He saw the logs piled up on top of one another, and a grin spread across his face. As he was closer to me now, I saw more details on his figure. He was fairly tall and muscular, large eyes glinting with its blood red pupils, and porcelain skin contrasting with the pitch dark armour he wore. He was just half the size of his large spear which was pointed with three dark, knife like edges.

"They think that by hiding important materials in obvious places would make us ignore the thought of looking there. Just goes to show how childish these brats are". He walked towards the logs, but suddenly fell into the ground, after walking over the open prison cell which I had covered with stones and leaves.

I jumped down from the tree, landing hard on my butt this time, and scrambled toward the hole.

"What the..." He shrieked as he tried to unstick himself from the net which I had smartly laid at the bottom of the hole. He looked up at me and his eyes widened in horror. "Y...you..."

I stuck out my tongue and did a peace sign at him. "Looks like someone's in a sticky situation, huh"? I cooed, then laughed. "Wow, I didn't think that would actually work. Wait til Robin sees this, and he'll realise how useless I really am".

The elf looked at me for a moment longer before a wide smile spread across his face. " Robin Hood will die. He will die".

I scrunched my nose at him. The guy's delusional."What do you mean he will die"?

"He is no match for my soldiers. Same for your loser friends over there fighting with him. They won't win. Mother said they will not win".

"Mother"? I started, but then heard someone yell my name weakly from behind me.

"Jessika! Jessika, you need to come quick..." It was that ginger girl. She was leaning against some broken wood, gasping for breath. She looked terribly sick.

I ran up to her, and caught her just as she tumbled forward. "What's going on? What happened to you"? I asked, my voice trembling.

"I don't know how it happened...it's like we've all been poisoned...everyone is feeling sick, and Robin is unconscious...for some reason it's effect was not as strong on me so I came here...I noticed you sneaking away earlier". The girl replied.

"We'll talk about that after". I glanced over at the prison. "Isn't there a way to lock that up? We need to keep him secured. Just tell me what to do".

"It's alright...I can do it". She pulled away from me and walked weakly towards the prison, taking the rope which was tied around her waist. "You have to help the others. Aladdin would know what to do, but he would be too weak to do it. Please help them, Jessika".

"I am not leaving you alone with this freak. Let me help you and we can go together".

"I'm only a bit dizzy, I will be fine. I do this a lot you know". She replied coldly, then nodded to the path I had come from. "Hurry and take the short cut".

I tightened my fist and sucked in a breath, then I nodded, and started to run back to the yellow path.

I was worried about everyone, but I remembered what that elf had said about Robin, and the fact that he was the only one of us who had gone unconscious just made my heart sink more and more.

It's only been two weeks but it feels like I haven't done TWISTED for ages! Weird, huh?

Anyway, what did you think of this chapter? Any ideas of what's going on with Robin and the others?

Hope you all enjoyed! Well, I mean, I know this wasn't the nicest chapter in the world, so what I mean is that I hope you were entertained.
