Three
Sigh.
Everyone is home.
I have really missed this place.
Tilly's head wound is almost not noticeable at all now. She's got peach fuzz growing around the wound where the doctors shaved her head. She calls it her caterpillar fuzz. She is so good at trying to make the beat of a bad situation.
Logan's face wound is healing. The process has been slow but we want to make sure everything heals right. We can not rush his healing. He has hardly come out of his room since he got released. He is embarrassed by his appearance.
Tyler is on strict bed rest, doctors orders. The only way they would let him go home is if we all promised to make sure he doesn't lift a single finger for himself. We are supposed to do everything for him.
It is going to be difficult taking care of him every second of the day but I know it will all be worth it in the end. I just want him to recover.
Ever one else is just trying to go back to normal
now. We will get there someday.
Sitting on the couch with Summer beside me, I look at the official pictures from my wedding. The photographer just finished editing them and sent them over.
We looked so happy. So sorry free.
Summer squeals. "So pretty!" She shouts, running around the house. I giggle at her joy.
Tyler and I snuck off right after the ceremony and got some more intimate pictures taken, just the two of us.
I can not believe these pictures were just taken a week ago. It feels like I have lived a lifetime since then.
This one is totally my favorite picture of us. Yup, it's my new lock screen now. I am going to show this off everywhere I go. That is just too perfect to not share with everyone.
The wedding was so beautiful. It was everything the younger version of me hoped for when she dreamed of her someday with her Prince Charming. with we could all go back to that day and do everything all over again. Well, everything except the terrible tragedy that happened afterwords...
Tyler calls me into our bedroom where he will spend the next week. "Show me the pictures." He smiles, the sun shining in his face.
"How did you know we got them?" I ask, wondering how he knew I was looking at them.
"Simmer came in here squealing about how much she loves the pictures from the wedding."
"Oh gosh." I smile. "What a crazy, little girl."
I turn my phone towards him and crawl in bed beside him. "Here. Look at this one."
"Wow," Tyler sighs. "These came out magnificent!" He pauses. "You look so beautiful Avery."
"I know. Thank you. I especially like this one. Your mom did such a good job with my hair and makeup." I gush.
"I'm not talking about the pictures anymore." He turns his head to get a better look at me. "I'm talking about right now."
I put my phone down on the bed and stare at him. "Ty," I smile, feeling all of the blood in my body rush to my cheeks as he compliments me.
I pull his face carefully towards me and kiss him. "I love you."
"I love you too. And I want to have another baby with you." He pulls me in closer.
I pull away from him. "Actually," I shake my head. I haven't found the right time to talk to him about the news yet. He's been in recovery and everything has just been so crazy. How was I supposed to tell him? "I don't think it's a good idea, Tyler-"
"Don't say no, Avery. Just talk it through with me." He begs.
I sigh. "I don't think I can handle losing another baby right now- or ever actually." I admit. I have been scared of having this conversation. I knew it was going to come someday. I am going to start showing soon.
"It will be different this time."
I shake my head. Do I tell him what I know?
Do I tell him I found out I was pregnant while in the hospital and have already talked to my doctor about having the pregnancy safely terminated? Do I tell him anything?
Do I tell him that I have been waiting for the right time to tell him I never want to be pregnant again? That I never want to feel the hurt I felt from losing our daughter, ever again.
Do I?
"Losing Josephine killed me, Tyler." I shake my head. "I can't do that again."
"Avery!" Tyler tries to reason with me. "Things will be different this time around! There won't be a trial or your killer father on the run. Your next pregnancy can be so much better without all of those huge stressors!" He explains.
I sigh and stand off the bed. "I wish I could get over the loss of our daughter as easily as you have. But I can't just try to replace her. I don't want to replace her." I turn towards the door.
"Avery, please don't leave. You know I can't follow you if you leave." Tyler begs, teaching his hand out for me. "Please just come back over here and talk to me."
"I don't want to talk about this anymore." I leave.
Author's note: gosh, I have missed these characters so much. I love this series.
Tyler is so dreamy. I wish all boys could be like him.
Do you think Avery and Tyler will have another baby? Or will Avery's fear of losing it be too much on her?
