Part 27
Two years had passed, and a lot had changed and happened in between.
Laksh had moved to the USA, and he and Swara had broken up immediately after Arnav's fiasco. It felt like too many things were happening at once for Laksh. Over time, he realized how immature he had been and that he was not ready for a relationship or responsibility when his existing ones were failing, where he had failed them. Swara felt heartbroken; she had hoped their love could overcome the crisis, but Laksh's decision came as a shock. However, she also understood his predicament.
Adarsh Bhaiya took over the family reins, working tirelessly alongside RP to improve their situation. DP had kind of retired; his health had taken a bad toll, and he was not his old, former self anymore. Sanskar had grown closer to his mother, sister, and Adarsh. He still harbored some hesitation towards Laksh, but he had seen him trying to redeem himself.
The Maheshwari family had moved to a new house. It was a bungalow, not as glorious as the previous one, but more cozy. Now, DP and RP had two different houses. Though RP didn't like the idea, DP insisted, saying he had to build his own house now. The children were growing, and so were their families, so it was better to stay separate but stay close. They had houses nearby, and RP and Sujatha, though they spent most of their time with DP and his family, had a separate abode which they called theirs.
Sanskar had moved back and was staying with his parents. Everyone soon became aware of his and Ragini's relationship. Some were hesitant, and some were happy, but everything was going well.
Ragini and Sanskar bond had grown stronger over time. They found solace and strength in each other, navigating through the ups and downs of life.

Swara's wedding rituals had started, filling the Gadodia household with the hustle and bustle of celebration. The air was thick with the scent of marigolds and the sound of laughter. The Maheshwari family was also invited, adding to the joyous occasion. It was a day of mixed emotions for everyone, especially for Swara and Ragini.
As the evening wore on, Ragini entered her room, feeling utterly exhausted. She shut the door behind her and leaned against it, closing her eyes for a moment. The sound of muffled footsteps made her eyes snap open. She was startled to see a shadowy figure in the dim light.
Before she could scream, the person swiftly closed the distance and covered her mouth. Her heart raced until she heard a familiar voice whisper, "Don't scream, it's me."
Relief washed over her as Sanskar removed his hand. "What the heck are you doing here?" she asked, her voice laced with annoyance.
Sanskar's irritation mirrored hers. "Aren't you getting too notorious, woman? It's been 10 days since I last saw you. Here I was, dying to meet you, to spend some alone time, and you have the audacity to ask what I'm doing here."
Ragini rolled her eyes, exasperated. "Stop being dramatic. You just saw me a few hours back."
Sanskar huffed, crossing his arms. "Yeah, where everyone was together. That's not the same."
Ragini could sense his genuine frustration and softened a bit. "You know I'm leaving," Sanskar said, turning to go.
Impulsively, she reached out and grabbed his hand. "Aab aa hi gaye ho toh ruk jao," she said, her eyes pleading with him.
Sanskar hesitated, clearly torn. "Nahi chahiye tumhara ehsaan," he retorted, trying to maintain his indignation as he turned to leave again.
Ragini felt a pang of desperation. "Arey, Sanskar," she called out, her voice breaking slightly.
Sanskar paused, the sincerity in her tone giving him pause. He turned back to look at her, his annoyance slowly melting away.
Sanskar paused, the sincerity in her tone giving him pause. He turned back to look at her, his annoyance slowly melting away. Ragini saw the change in his eyes and took a bold step forward, wrapping her arms around him.
"Abhi na jao chhod ke, dil abhi bhara nahi," she sang softly, her voice trembling with emotion as she hugged him tighter.
Sanskar's heart melted at her words. The tension in his body eased as he held her close, her warmth seeping into him. He couldn't stay mad at her, not when she was right there, showing how much she cared.
"You're so unfair," he murmured, his voice tinged with a hint of a smile as he rested his chin on her head. "You know exactly how to make me forgive you."
Ragini pulled back slightly to look up at him, her eyes sparkling. "I know. It's my superpower," she teased gently.
Sanskar chuckled softly, shaking his head. "You haven't been giving me any time," he whined playfully, a pout forming on his lips. "As your fiancé, I demand equal attention. It's been all about Swara's wedding, and I've been feeling like an afterthought."
Ragini's expression softened with guilt. "I'm sorry, Sanskar. I didn't mean to make you feel that way. It's just been so hectic with all the preparations. But you matter to me, more than anything."
Sanskar's eyes softened, and he reached out to cup her cheek. "I know you didn't mean to. It's just... I miss you. I miss us."
Ragini leaned into his touch, her heart aching at the sadness in his voice. "I'm here now," she whispered. "And I promise to make more time for us, no matter what."
Sanskar smiled, his eyes bright with affection. "Then I forgive you."
Ragini felt a surge of relief wash over her. "Thank you," she said softly. She tightened her hold on him, burying her face in his chest.
They stood there for a moment, soaking in the warmth of each other's embrace. The soft murmur of wedding preparations drifted in from outside, but inside the room, it was just them, wrapped in their little world.
Finally, Sanskar pulled back slightly, looking down at her with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "You know, as your fiancé, I think I deserve a little more than just a hug and an apology."
Ragini raised an eyebrow, curiosity dancing in her eyes. "Oh really? And what do you have in mind, Mr. Maheshwari?"
Sanskar leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a husky whisper. "How about a kiss"
Ragini laughed softly, her heart swelling with love. "A kiss"
Sanskar nodded, his eyes twinkling. "yes."
Ragini smiled and guided her arms around his neck "Alright then."
Sanskar closed his eyes in anticipation but ragini pecked his cheek and moved away
He opened his eyes in annoyance
"What you asked for a kiss and i gave one" She spoke
"You know what" Saying Sanskar wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close "I'll take my kiss"
And his lips crashed on hers. Their lips swayed from desperation needy to gentle. In that moment, it was as if time stood still, and all the worries and stress melted away. They were together, and that's all that mattered.
They broke the kiss panting for breathe, Ragini rested her head on Sanskar's shoulder, feeling his steady heartbeat against her cheek. "I love you," she whispered, the words carrying the weight of her heart.
Sanskar tightened his hold on her, pressing a kiss to her temple. "I love you too, Ragini. Always."
They continued to stand in each others embrace, lost in each other, creating a memory that would last a lifetime. It was a moment of pure, unadulterated love, and it was theirs to cherish forever.
