Why They're Precious - Part 1

He entered the room half lost and saw Khushi on bed with their 3 years old toddlers. The mother daughters trio were tickling each other and rolling on bed throwing pillows at each other. He smiled a bit at that sight of his angels laughing. But it wasn't enough for him to forget what day it was. So he moved out to the poolside and sat on the recliner.

Khushi noticed her husband's saddened face and it didn't need her much to figure out why. It's his mother's birthday today. The siblings must have shared some memories and shed some tears. She knew how much they missed their mother and wished she would be alive.

She got off the bed and took away the pillows from the twins' hands. They were too engrossed in their game to notice their Daddy's sad face.

Khushi - Now bas. We played enough. I gotta work, so you two go and be with Daddy. He seems sad.

They both jumped gasping and ran out to the poolside. Their Daddy was sad? That was not something they could see and accept speechlessly.

They hopped on his legs immediately making him open his eyes and look at them. Arshi supported herself by keeping her hand on his shoulder while Aarushi cupped his face with her teeny tiny hands.

Aarushi - Why mah doll shad?

Arshi - Mine too. Mah Shona, mah jaan, why sho shad?

He couldn't help but let out a chuckle at his dolls imitating him and Khushi. They looked so infinitely adorable with their sweet smiles.

He locked his arms around both taking them in an open hug.

Arnav - I'm missing my Mumma.

Arshi, Aarushi - Huh

And their jaws dropped in surprise at him mentioning his mother. He had a mother? They never knew. Their little brain couldn't comprehend this new information.

Aarushi - Daddy u Mumma?

Arshi - Like mah Mumma?

Arnav - Yes. I too had a Mumma like you have one. Everyone has one. But mine is, not with me anymore. She's gone far away.

He didn't know if they'll understand it or not but he just wanted to share his pain with his toddlers.

Aarushi - Awwww, my cutie-pie misshing Mumma.

She raised herself a little bit and hugged his head running her hands through his hair. Arshi ran her hand on his cheek acressing it, like the way Khushi does to them.

Arshi - No shad Daddy, I call u Mumma. U no woy (worry).

He smiled at his daughters trying to cheer him up in their cute and adorable way. And he could not suppress his grin as Arshi took his phone and acted to be on a call.

Arshi - Hello? Daddy Mumma thea? Good. Alshi calling. I want to shay Daddy misshing u shoooo much. U come and huggie Daddy...aha, oh. Oh. I shee. Ok, I shay. Bye.

He raised his brows at her. Aarushi looked at her somewhat in surprise but innocent Arshi winked at her. Arnav chuckled nodding in denial. And Aarushi acted along.

Aarushi - Ohhhh, sho what she shay?

Arshi - She shay buzy. Shoo much wok. She come shoon when fee. And then she neva go away.

Aarushi - Good. Sho mah doll no shad. Ok?

They kissed his cheeks now with their arms around his neck. He was so touched by his children making attempts of cheering him up in their innocent away. It was so adorable.

He kissed their foreheads nodding and then couldn't keep himself from pecking their little noses they got from their mother.

Arnav - Ok done. I won't be sad anymore. Thank you for calling my Mumma and letting her know I'm missing her.

They saw each other and then gave him the widest smile ever. And he looked at them carefully to realise it was his mother's smile. He beamed at them whole hearted. He hadn't lost his mother completely. There was a part of her in Anjali and now, there was a part of her in his own daughters.

Aarushi - Now come, we pay.

Arshi - Pio (pillow) fight. Sho much fun.

They both jumped off his lap and both held his each hand pulling him into the room finally. And he went along gladly.

It was another usual day with the 3 years old wandering around the mansion, engaging in their childish activities. Akshay was at his preschool. The twins were running up and down the corridor when they stopped at Payal's room. There were angry voices to be heard. They kicked the door open and for a while observed their Chachu and Massi busy fighting.

Akash - I told you not to mess with them. Have you any idea how much you added onto my work by losing the files?

Payal - How many times do I have to say I didn't do it intentionally? I kept them safe there in the drawer. But you know kids sometimes just pull a chair and reach up.

They moved their eyes along with the two elders running around the room in search of something.

Akash - Always this excuse of kids. The kids must have done this, the kids did that. I know kids do that. That's why I gave it to you and asked you to keep it somewhere safe. You can't handle this much?

Payal - I kept it in the upper drawer. It was safe. But I can't keep an eye on the kids whole day. I have other work to do too. I can't stay in the room the whole day guarding your files.

Aarushi - Masshi, why fight?

They walked in now losing interest in observing and were rather interested in settling their dispute. They hated seeing people fight. If it were for them, they'd have everyone on the world always hug and play with each other.

Akash and Payal acknowledged their presence now and looked at each other flaring their noses but nevertheless tried to calm down in front of the kids.

Payal - We were not fighting Aaru. Chachu is in a hurry so we're just talking very fast and, a bit loud.

They narrowed their eyes at them. Arshi took a step towards Payal and raised an eyebrow of hers.

Arshi - Masshi lie. I know u fight.

Payal turned to Akash begging him through her eyes to help her. So Akash came forward smiling a bit and sat down on the pulling Arshi.

Akash - Massi isn't lying. Everything is alright Arshi.

Aarushi - Then pomish on Barbie.

Aarushi moved to his side and forwarded her Barbie for him to swear on. Now he would have sworn falsely on the doll if it wasn't for his knowledge of how much Aarushi is attached to her Barbie and loves it so much.

Akash - Um. Ok...we were fighting a little bit.

Arshi - I knew! I shay, shee.

She proudly scolded Payal who in the meanwhile also sat down next to Akash and held her ear and bit her tongue. But she glanced at her husband not so lovingly for he didn't have her back.

Aarushi - Vely bad. Masshi lie and Chachu fight. Not good. Vely vely bad. Shoooo dissh-appoi (disappointed).

She enacted her mother when scolding with her left hand on her hip and the other pointed towards them and moving it dramatically intending to arouse guilt in them. And it did work. Both Payal and Akash bowed their heads and apologized at the same time.

Payal, Akash - Sorry Aaru...

She flared her nose and then laid her Barbie carefully on the bed. Next she took both of their hands and kept them on each other.

Aarushi - No shoy me. Shoy each otha. U fight na. Shay shoy.

They studied her determined self and couldn't help but smile. So then as they looked at each other thinking a mere three years old girl was more mature than them right now, the apology became genuine.

Akash - I'm so sorry, Payal. You aren't at fault for the kids displaced the file. I, I sometimes become quite annoying. I'm really sorry.

Payal - I'm sorry too Akash. I should know your work and the files are important. I'll try to find it and next time, I'll keep your files in the safe.

Aarushi smiled proudly with her head held up high.

Aarushi - Good. Then huggie and kisshie.

The couple looked at her widening their eyes who frowned in confusion and then enacted it for them.

Aarushi - Huggie and kisshie like thish.

She hugged both and kissed their cheeks. They looked at each other in comprehension and laughed. Akash and Payal both quickly exchanged a hug and a fast peck on the cheeks for Aarushi's satisfaction. But not everyone was happy in the room yet.

Arshi - Heeey, shay shoy me too. Masshi lie me.

Aarushi - Yesh yesh. Masshi, shay shoy.

Payal chuckled and was all in Awe as she pulled the little Laad Governor in her arms and gave her a long kiss on the cheek.

Payal - I'm veeeery sorry Massi's jaan. I promise I won't ever lie.

Arshi made a face first for the kiss was too long and she disliked being kissed like that but then flared her nose in affirmation.

Arshi - Good. I no like liah.

Payal laughed and hugged her even tighter to intentionally annoy her. Aarushi grabbed her Barbie doll fast to escape before she too would be crushed like that but it was too late. Payal already pulled her in a bone crushing hug too with Akash admiring them ever so lovingly.

They're too precious.
