Manorama's Makeover

Manorama walked down the floor with her hands resting in the air. But as she did that, she felt observed. And the moment she heard giggles, she stopped in her track and turned. She scanned the length of the stage and surprisingly found no one standing there. Not at the first sight. The giggles continued and she narrowed her eyes. Ignoring the laughs she turned around and progressed to her room.

Once inside she peeped out of the door and caught the little Raizadas giggling at each other. She widened her mouth in amazement seeing the four years old Aarushi imitating her way of walking while Arshi and Akshay clapped at her.

Aarushi - Hello Hi Bye Bye.

If Manorama were drinking a glass of water, she would have spit it out at that particular mimicry. And if it would have been someone else at their place, she would have gone ballistic, but it were her adorable grandkids and she admired each and every antics of theirs.

She smiled at their admirable show and went back inside her bedroom for a touch up. She sat down at the dressing table and caught them in the mirror peering inside her room with their heads. She narrowed her eyes and watched as they ran in. With their innocent eyes, they watched her as she reapplied her concealer and lipstick.

Akshay - Dadi, why do you do this?

Manorama - It's called makeup. I do this to look more beautiful than I already am.

Aarushi - Mah Barbie alsho do makeup.

Manorama - I know. And your Barbie is beautiful. But you and Arshi are the most beautiful girls in this whole world.

Aarushi smiled genuinely while Arshi exchanged a mischievous look with Akshay.

Arshi - Dadi, we do uah makeup. Can we?

Aarushi - Yeees. Me too me too. Peash Dadi.

Aarushi went all into excitement and Manorama couldn't help but not melt at their puppy faces.

Manorama - Ok. You can do my makeup.

Aarushi placed her Barbie at the mirror and grabbed few brushes already.

Aarushi - Fisht wash uah fesh (first wash your face)

Arshi - C'mon fasht!

Manorama obeyed as junior ASR ordered her in her father's typical manner of bossing people around.

Arshi - Aalu, u do makeup. Bhai get phone and shoot.

Akshay - Hey, I'm the bigger one. I get to order around everyone!

Arshi -C'mon! Get phone! Now.

Akshay - Ok ok, fine.

Making a face he ran out of the room as Arshi Singh Raizada ordered it in not a friendly manner. He returned in no time with his Massi's phone for his mother doesn't give him hers.

Akshay - Phone ready.

Manorama - What are you doing? You'll take a video?

Arshi - Yesh. Sho we shee latah and do good.

Even though she couldn't fully understand what Arshi meant, Manorama let it be. It was just fun after all.

Arshi - Dadi cosh eyesh.

Arshi kept her hand on her eyes. Manorama had no choice but to do as asked.

Arshi - Good, now Aalu, do thish hea. Then thish hea.

Aarushi listened to her 10 minutes elder sister and applied lots of black eyeshadow around her eyes, handful of blusher on her cheeks, a thick layer of lipstick till above the lipline. Now as Akshay stood there recording it all, both Arshi and Aarushi stood in front of the mirror and wondered what to apply where. They had seen their mother and Manorama doing makeup few times and it always varied as to what they used.

Manorama - Are you done?

Arshi - No. Keep eyesh cosh. *whispers to Aarushi* thish do what?

Arushi pondered with her twisted lips formed in a pout as she stared the liquid foundation.

Aarushi - We shee?

Arshi nodded as to her suggestion and opened the bottle of liquid. She turned it so it all spills out and both open their mouth in gasps. They know Khushi will get angry if she gets to know so Arshi pulls the quilt of the bed and tries to wipe it of.

Manorama - Can I open my eyes now?

Arshi - NO! Dadi, eyesh cosh. Aalu do makeup.

Aarushi now took another of brush full of green powder and applied on her whole face before applying a cream kept there so she doesn't open her eyes while Arshi's hand brushed against a palette and it falls down. And the mess just got messier.

Akshay - This is going to be a nightmare.

Manorama - Do I look so bad?

Arshi - No. Um' I shay open eyesh, then open eyesh.

Now leaving everything as it is, the three nodded at each other and just ran out of the room.

Arshi - Now.

Manorama opened her eyes and screamed at her reflection. She calmed down eventually realizing it's hers and not some ghost. And then she looked down at the mess they left behind. She decided to call one of the Prakash brothers for a clean up after washing her face. Just then there were screams of the other Raizada women who had come up to check on her but ended up getting scared.

Payal - Maa ji?

Khushi - Mami ji? You...this?

They couldn't quite ask her frankly why she was looking like a freaking Frankenstein's monster. But there was the daughter of this family who could ask it, in a lighter way.

Anjali - Mami, what did you do to your face?

Manorama - I didn't. The kids wanted to do my makeup.

Khushi sterned. She got it. Her face and the mess, it had to be the three little Raizadas. Payal also sighed beside her. It wasn't that their children had done another mischief, it was that none in the house really denied or scolded them. Under their cute innocent faces they were little devils at times and had everyone of the family enchanted. Everyone except of their mothers who always had to play the bad cops because the whole family preferred to be the good cops.

Both the daughter-in-laws walked inside the room and got to work, to clear up what their children did.

After a while later Khushi walked inside the room and scanned it thoroughly. There was only Arnav to be seen, sitting at the recliner and working.

Khushi - Where are they?

Arnav - Who?

He looked up at her raising his brows. She knew he was aware of their whereabouts but as always he was saving his daughters.

Khushi - Your little devils.

Arnav - Once more you call them devils, I'll show you the real devil.

He got up to face her. She flared her nose at his threat.

Khushi - Shut up. Stop saving them. You're spoiling them. You know what they did?

Arnav - They were just playing, having fun. Just like kids are supposed to.

Khushi - And parents are supposed to punish them if they do mischief!

Arnav - They're just four!

Khushi - Still way older than you in your head.

Arnav - Say that to me at night.

Khushi - I'm not the one desperate!

And as she said that she frowned at his eyes looking around her repeatedly. She understood it's a trick and turned to see them run out of the room. They had been hiding behind the door.

Khushi - STOP RIGHT THERE.

The good thing was, they were too innocent and isolated to develop themselves into liars and rebels. If they did something that's getting them in trouble, they were slowly getting aware of such situations and also understood they gotta avoid them. But they hadn't learnt to lie and disobey yet. So when Khushi asked them to stop right there, they did stop.

Khushi - And now come back here!

With their head hung low in shame and disappointment, they walk over to her and hold their ears.

Arshi - Shoy Mumma.

Aarushi - I no do bad. It jush happen.

Arnav stared at his adorable and cute daughters.

Arnav - See, they didn't mean to do anything. It just happened by accident.

Khushi - You stay out of it Arnav. You've already spoiled them too much. And you both, where is Akshay?

They looked up at her with their ever so cute and melting pout. She looked away not wanting to fall for their looks. Her motherhood was weak in that matter.

Arshi - He not do anything. He jush film.

Khushi narrowed her eyes at them, but eventually smiled and knelt down. She loved their honesty.

Khushi - You both are Mumma's good girls. You are always honest. I know you didn't do it intentionally but you should have apologised to Dadi and not run away. Good babies don't flee, they admit their mistakes and apologize for them. Ok?

They nodded now smiling and she lowered their hands as they had been holding their ears. They threw their arms around her neck causing her to fall back and Aarushi kissed her cheek numeroulsy.

Khushi held them closer and laughed as she now laid there on the floor with them on her and Aarushi showering her with kisses.

Khushi - Arshi, no kiss for Mumma?

She too placed a kiss on her mother's cheek then and smiled adorably at her. Khushi pressed both to herself and kissed them before getting up with their help.

Khushi - And now you both will say sorry to Dadi. Go.

And they ran off in no time to apologize to Manorama while Khushi looked at Arnav.

Khushi - You saw that?

Arnav - Yes. You're great as a mother.

Khushi - That I know. But you're a horrible father. And husband. You can't just keep playing the spoiling Daddy. They won't appreciate everything they have if they become spoiled brats.

Arnav - Stop overreacting and come here, see this.

She nodded in denial. That's always his reaction, she shall not overreact.

Nevertheless she took few steps to him and watched the video he showed her. And both couldn't help but laugh as they saw Mami getting a makeover by their twins. How horrible she looked at last.

Arnav - My babies did this. They are so naughty.

She looked at him and recognized the sparkle in his eyes. It was joy and pride.

Khushi - Just like their father.

He raised his brows up at her and smirked. She bit her lips and ran out with the phone.

Khushi - I'll show that to Di and Nani.

She stopped at the door as he spoke next.

Arnav - And then I gotta show you something.

Khushi - What?

Arnav - How old I am!

He winked earning a blush from her. She glared at him and stormed off, not able to conceal the red on her cheeks.
