Just Another Day
"Are you missing me? Or shall I stay back for few more days?"
Arnav really couldn't say if he was missing her or not. Since the day Khushi's gone to Lucknow to stay at her parents house for a week, he had been very much occupied with handling their two bundles of joy and office work. But he didn't want her to stay there more as he was actually looking forward to spending time with her again, talking to her and seeing her smile.
Arnav - No. You are coming back tomorrow. I won't postpone your ticket and I won't argue on that. Just come back.
Khushi - Acha theek hai Laad Governor, I'll come tomorrow. Actually I am missing my children so much. You didn't let me take them along.
Arnav - Khushi, you know I take care their extracurricular activities very serious. The Basketball tournament for juniors is nearing and I don't want them to miss their training in this period.
Khushi - Haan Haan theek hai. I know. Anyway, I saw today is Father's Day so I got Babuji a new Kurta Pyjama spent a lot of time with him. How was your Father's Day? Did they wish you? I had told them.
A smile crept onto his lips as he recalled the day with his twins whom he put to sleep with a bedtime story just half hour ago.
*Flashback*
"Au, au, au, DADDY, auch!"
He stopped watering the plants and went inside the room to see both his 4 year olds having gripped each other's hair and winning in pain complaining about each other.
He immediately stepped forward and made them leave their hair.
Arnav - Even a movie you both can't watch without fighting?
Arshi - She shtarted! I am innoshent.
Aarushi - No! She shtarted Daddy. She shaid Barbie izn't real. She vely bad.
Urgh, again! Aarushi is Barbie freak and Arshi doesn't like dolls at all. Both are twins yet so different from each other. Aarushi is sweet and very sensitive like Khushi while Arshi is more rational and a bit cold like him at this age already.
Arnav - Arshi, Aarushi, I really don't care who started first. I just saw you both pulling each other's hair. You both have no respect for your lovely hair, so I'll have you both's hair cut off. Come here, let's get ready and go to hairdresser. Then you both will become bald like Megamind and your head will look huge.
They both gasp scared and run to a corner of the bedroom to hide. Arnav chuckled inside at his little nautankis. They both looked so cute but he had to keep a stern face.
Arshi - No Daddy, no. No huge head. I plomish, I won't pull her hair again.
Aarushi - Yesh Daddy, I too plomish. I love my hair, I want Barbie hair, no Megamind. Peash Daddy.
Arnav - Ok fine. I won't have your hair cut off but you both know how serious I take promises. If either of you breaks her promise, then both will become bold. I won't ask then and just cut your hair off in sleep. Ok?
They nodded pouting and he smiled as both now lovingly continued watching Smurfs after coming back to bed. Just a minute and they were back to laughing and sharing popcorn with each other. Kids!

"Arnav bhaiyya, come down fast. Arshi and Aarushi baby started fighting again."
He rushed downstairs leaving the video conference in the midway and widened his eyes at the view. The dining area was all messed up and had become a front of a food war with both throwing their Maggi noodles at each other. And in trying to stop them, poor Prakash Brothers got all covered with Sauce and Maggi masala, noodles hanging from their hair and shoulders.
Arnav - Ok, stop it you both!
Only once Arnav went there they stopped and looked at him with their usual innocent puppy faces which make him melt usually but now that strict Mummy Khushi is not here, he can't afford to play Daddy Cool for now.
Arnav - What is this? How many times your Mumma has told you not to play around with food? Come here to me!
They slowly came out of their chair fronts and walked to him all covered in sauce and Maggi like the Prakash brothers.
Arnav - Just look at what you both have done. Messed up the whole dining area.
Aarushi - Sholy Daddy, but Alshi start. She shaid Devi Maiyya and God doesh not exisht. My Mumma never lie. Tell her!
Arshi - Daddy, Aalushi alwaysh play (pray) before eating. And also tell me. I don't want. Also she shay Devi Maiyya make ush win Bashketball. Nuts!
He nodded in denial sighing and kept both on the table to wipe their faces and hands with tissues. He'll have to make them bath and change again.
Arnav - I am telling you both for the first and last time, respect each other's beliefs and don't start fighting to prove who's right. DM won't become real or unreal with a fight. Arshi, if you don't believe in God, don't mock Aarushi if she believes in her. And Aarushi, if you believe in God then don't impose your faith on Arshi. You both are Daddy's good girls or bad girls?
Arshi & Aarushi - Goodh girlsh!
Arnav - Then listen to Daddy and from now on no fights over God's existence. It is your personal choice to believe in God or not. There's no proof that God exists BUT there is no proof that God doesn't exist either. Got it?
The looked at each other smiling now and nodded. He kissed their heads and took both up to bath them and change their clothes.

"Daddy, Daddy, Daddy!"
He shut his laptop before looking up at his little ones running into the room. He smiled at both opening his arms for them as they jumped and took their seats on either of his thighs. They showed him the self made cards. Happy father's day those read in their handwritings.
Arnav - Wow, these are for me? You both know it's Father's Day today?
They both nodded grinning wide not informing him their Mumma informed them.
Aarushi - We both vely shmart.
Arshi - Yesh. We ASL (ASR) na!
Though he know Khushi must have told them,he couldn't help but just place long kisses on his super cute daughters's super cute cheeks in Awe. They just make his everyday so special and his life worth living for.
Arshi - Shee, we even got giftsh.
His elder twin showed him the coffee mug. It was just an ordinary coffee mug from their kitchen but she'd written best Daddy on it and scribbled it.
Aarushi - Mine is bettah.
He turned his look to the white shirt his Mumma's girl held. That too was from his wardrobe only but she too had written best Daddy in the world and placed colorful handprints on it.
Arnav - I don't agree, none is better. Both are best and I am in love with these cards and gifts. From now on, I'll drink my coffee in this mug only and I'll wear this shirt a lot, in fact at all of Aarushi's tea parties.
Both smiled wide and clapped in excitement. He kept the cards and gifts on the table now holding both closer.
Arnav - But I want my special gift too. Give me my special gift!
They giggled and jumped off his lap to run around in the room.
Arshi - Catch ush for that!
There's nothing he'd like to do more as he got up and purposely ran behind them slowly acting as if he can't catch them that easily. Their laughter filled the room and poolside completely as he after few minutes carried both into his arms and received his special gift in form of kisses from them. The father daughters trio spent some good time together in a tea party and went to the park enjoying the Father's Day.
*End of Flashback*
"Arnavji!? Are you listening? I asked did they wish you?"
Arnav smiled at the thoughts of his day with his daughters. His heart was filled with so much joy. He felt immensely at loss of words at thanking Khushi for giving him such cute daughters. He loved his angels more than anything in the world.
Arnav - Yes they wished me.
Khushi - Good. How was your day?
Arnav - It was lovely, just another day!
